I gotcha bud. I'm in the same frame of mind. But I really do like McConkey. I just wonder how many "slot" WRs we can truly use and thrive. A lack of diversity might bite us in the ass eventually. I guess we'll find out soon enough👍
Ladd lined up at slot very little in college. He line up outside >70% of the time. Ladd, Shakir, and Kinkaid playing off each other would be great. Josh isn’t an anticipation thrower, he throws when he sees someone open. Nobody separates better than Ladd in this draft, including the big 3. His yac is great too. Weakness is getting away form bump and run, but that can be aleviated through motion.

And which WR in the draft gets the most separation and YAC?
Ladd - maybe too much duplication but if not, I think he’s their guy. 1 or 2 WRs, with Walker, baker, rice, etc to follow

28 and a late 2nd next year doesn't get you close to 17. Though I would trade more to move up to 17 if Thomas II makes it to 17
Burton is a bad person, off many boards, probably off Buffalo's board

I would much rather see the Buffalo Bills make a trade with SF for Aiyuk than trade the resources to move up in the draft to take one of the top three. Aiyuk is a sure thing #1 WR and not a maybe or someone that might take years to develop into a #1...if ever.
Harrison and nebors are sure things and Odunze is a 75% sure thing. I Think;
if nebors or Harrison last to 6, they call the giants
if Odunze lasts to 9 they call atlanta
if Thomas II last to high teens they make a call
otherwise they pick their fav at 28. Mine would be Ladd at 28 and trade 60 + a 4th this year and a 3rs next year for 40 and grab legette, Franklin, Coleman, Polk - whomever is left and whomever they like

I'd take Legette, Mitchell and Worthy as my next 3 after the top 3 plus Thomas (although I'd take Legette over Thomas personally) and I'd take Franklin, Coleman and Baker before Pearsall and Wilson. McConkey is right in the middle of that group for me.... after Legette, Mitchell and Worthy but before the rest.
I can’t wrap my head around worthy. Super fast 40 but he’s not a one trick pony as he had 3 years of nice production. Still I don’t know if I could draft him early??

BUF
29. Adonai Mitchell WR Texas -the no brainer of no brainers.
73. Kris Jenkins DT Michigan - the DT corps begins its rebuild.
83. Dadrion Taylor-Demerson S Texas Tech Good athlete and smart.
99. Brandon Coleman OG TCU - 3 year left tackle but will play guard. I thought he looked good at the Senior Bowl. Long arms and big hands. He can always fill in at tackle in a pinch.
128. Javon Baker WR UCF - a good addition to the WR corps, not as fast as Mitchell but can get open deep and over the middle. Would go higher in most other years.
133. Mohamed Kamara EDGE Colorado State A fire plug who works angles, runs a 4.5 and had great production in college.
144. Gabe Hall DT Baylor - I just like the way he was getting around people in Senior Bowl practices. I see him moving to DT in passing situations. Or.. He could be a tweener We'll find out
160. Khristian Boyd DT Nothern Iowa - The Bills have had visits with him About the size of Daquan Jones
163. Trey Taylor S Air Force My true sleeper. Jim Thorpe award winner, 3 year starter, did pretty good at his pro day Smart
204. Myles Cole EDGE Texas Tech a true project, someone just needs to figure out how to use him
*traded down one pick to the Lions and gave them 200 in. They gave me 29 and 73. No idea why they did, but Ill take it.
**traded 60 and neext year's 6th for 83 and 99,
Yeah some of their trade proposals make no sense. When I get the one like your DET one I ignore it cuz not realistic

Damn, I guess there’s no reason to watch now? It’s like when KC traded Hill and their Super Bowl chances dissipated.

Me too. Risky prospect, but if he hits....he's a complete terror. Him just being on the field automatically makes run D better. He can take on 3 OLIf KC drafts him to play next to Chris Jones, the season is already over....again.
Doesn’t rush the qb anywhere near what Jones does. Two totally different players

I’m liking all these mocks where you guys have us double dipping at WR! It is a historic draft for WRs indeed.
I think we definitely draft a wr with our first rd pick whether it’s a big trade up for the top 3, a smaller trade up for Thomas Ii or picking one at 28
ad for double dipping, I’m a firm advocate of trading 60 and a 2025 3rd or even our late 2 to move up to around 40 and grab our 2nd wr.
otherwise we draft one at one at 60 or 128
best case senario; Thomas at 19ish with. Trade up, sweet at 45 with another trade up and a second wr at 128.

Small trade up in rd 1 (#28 and 2025 2nd) for Thomas Ii and trade 60 a 5th and a 2025 2nd to High 30s to grab Ladd.

Remember the year we were Super Bowl favorites?
We rolled into LA with Allen, prime Diggs and Von. All 3 played like impact players. Team looked like a juggernaut.
Then Diggs faded and disappears in the Playoffs. He’s gone. Von gets hurt. Hasn’t been the same since.
Who do we keep losing to in recent contending years? KC (2) and CIN (1).
CIN Impact Players:Burrow, Chase, Higgins
KC Impact Players:
Mahomes, Kelce, Jones, Hill
Mahomes, Kelce, Jones, Snead
Who does KC roll into ‘24 with this year?
Mahomes, Kelce, Jones
We should always be at 3 impact players. That seems to be a consensus number of what you need to lead your team into the games where it matters. Who can you count on to step up in the clutch.
We enter this year with:
Allen. ?. ?.
Kincaid is a guy we can reasonably hope becomes an impact player.
So where does the third impact player come from?
Not sure I see any DT’s or EDGE rushers out there for us that fit the bill. Same goes for CB.
Maybe Simmons at S? But that’s not a position I’d advocate paying big money at, especially for an older player. And can a S really take over a game?
All roads lead to WR1.
The Bills, who haven’t been able to get over the hump, could draft around 28 and or slightly move up for a Tier 2 WR. And that’s fine.. maybe this time it works. Maybe they double up with a vet or in RD2 and we have a really nice WR room, albeit without a true game wrecker.
Or maybe we finally get that guy to join Allen and potentially Kincaid. To give us that 3rd impact player.
A trade for an Aiyuk level receiver or packaging up picks for Nabers would signal a massive shift from building a roster with no holes, above average talent everywhere and plenty of depth (who haven’t been able to win when it matters) to a team with guys coming at you that can truly take over a game.
There’s risk involved if doing this through the draft, but the Big 3 all seem to be consensus Top 5 picks in any other draft.
Of course, the other option is fielding a competitive team this year, while playing it safe with the intention of going big fish hunting in FA next year.
So.. which way Beane?Because at some point.. Josh Allen needs 2 other impact players riding with him. A luxury that has helped propel Mahomes over him year in/year out.
The obvious way to get there this year is by going all out to address WR1.
Ladd at #28 (he’ll catch 100 passes as a rookie)
legette at #45 (after a trade up from #60) - the deep threat Josh really never has. Substitute Legette for with Franklin, Polk, Worthy, Coleman, even Walker depending on who the Bills like
3 minutes ago, Kirby Jackson said:There’s really only 1 FA left now that can be considered an impact player. The Bills should sign him post June 1.
They’re going to need impact player(s) in the draft. They have a hard time finding them.
Who’s that? Odell?

Based on all the metrics, if we stay at 28, and are drafting a WR, Ladd McConkey has to be the pick…
He was not my first choice, but I have to trust the numbers…👍
I agree 100%. I don’t think Beane wants to give up 2 1st, 2 2nds and some late picks to move up to 5/6/7.
I do think he would be willing to give up a 2nd + to move up to the late teens to grab Thomas II if (1) Thomas last to then and (2) they have Thomas as their #4 wr, a lot of people do not.
I would take Ladd at 28 if he’s there (not a given as I could see KC trading ahead of us to grab him) then I would trade 60 and a future 2nd to move up to the low/mid 40s and grab Legette/frankli/worthy/polk/coleman, etc - whomevers left then and they like best.
adding Ladd +, say Legette would be awesome. I think the bills like both of them a lot. They’ve met with both a couple of times and Josh mentioned him prominently in a recent interview saying he’s got the best southern accent he’s ever heard.
we may also just stay at 60 and grab whomever falls to there, but they do have 10 picks and 10 draft picks arent making this team.
my dream senario;
#28, 2025 2nd, 2024 4th, 2024 5th for pick 27 or so and take Thomas Ii
#60 and other 2025 2nd for #40 and take Ladd who’s has fallen to 40
thomas and Ladd added to our wr corp and we’d still have a total of 8 2024 picks and picks in every round in 2025 except the 2nd. We will get 2 or so comp picks though in 2025
8 minutes ago, NewEra said:I don’t think many people, if any, think that Thomas will be there @ 28.
I’ve seen him mocked as early as 12 and lasting until 28. A lot of people have him as the #4 but a lot of people don’t. I’d love to see how the Bills rank the wr. My guess is they may have legette at #4 and may take him at #28. The kid is a one year wonder (no fault of his own) but oozes character. His story is heart wrenching. He and buffalo written all over him

Between 28 and 60 - the following WR's were selected:
30.) Baltimore: Troy Franklin - Oregon
33.) Carolina: Xavier Worthy - Texas
35.) Arizona: Xavier Legette - South Carolina
36.) Washington: Ladd McConkey - Georgia
43.) Atlanta: Keon Coleman - Florida State
46.) Indianapolis: Ricky Pearsall - Florida
48.) Jacksonville: Roman Wilson - Michigan
53.) Philadelphia: Malachi Corley - Western Kentucky
54.) Cleveland: Jermaine Burton - Alabama
58.) Green Bay: Ja'Lynn Polk - Washington
This exercise has proven the idea that you can still get a good one at 60 is a dangerous game to play. Legette isn't sniffing 60. I don't care what the simulators are telling you.
Or it's tells you whomever is making these picks is overdrafting WR's. But does tell you if you want to pick a Ladd type at #28 and double dip, you should be prepared to trade up from 60 to the 40's.

Not sure what the point of this thread is.

I like it a lot better now that Diggs will be a FA after this season. I have no idea what was happening behind the scenes with him, but, Diggs was obviously a problem

I think Edge is our 2nd biggest need. This is what I'd like to see:
28 wr
45 wr - trade up from 60 using a 4th and get your next favorite wr
next 7 picks, not in this order
DE (2)
DL (1)
S (1)
RB (1)
LB (1)
