Not only that, but it will be brought up again in the future-“remember when Caleb Williams said that thing about Mahomes….”

It's like the Kelvin Benjamin / Gettleman food stealing story.  It was clearly fake but it has pretty much become accepted fact.

If this is true, wow. Some balls on this kid. Imagine performing as he had and then telling Mike Tomlin in Week 17 "no, I'm not going to dress if you're making me 3rd string" and then approaching them after signing Russ and saying "I don't want to be a backup to him".

Great kid. You got your wish. You won't be backing up Russell Wilson. You'll be backing up someone where you have even less of a chance to see the field.

I assumed you left put a comma;  " Great, kid. You got your wish."   not  "Great kid. You got your wish."

Kenny Pickett issued an extremely strong non-denial denial of the story about refusing to suit up for the 17th game:

"There was a plan for that game. It went down exactly the way it was planned to go down that entire week. I was coming off the ankle surgery, it is what it is. And like I've been saying, I'm very happy to be here."

It sounds like, my plan was to refused to suit up and that's how it went.

The contract is incentive heavy.   The gaurantee is only 6.5 milliion.  This is why the Jets were (supposedly) surprised that he signed.

For years the *Patriots were praised for getting rid of guys one year too early instead of one year too late.  I hope Mitch is successful and healthy.  But I also think moving on is the right thing to do.  Time to get younger.

This is definitely true with all the other cuts.   Morse is the only real surprise especially after trading Bates.  There were plenty of teams that would have killed for offensive line depth last year and putting someone in with very little experience at center is very risky.

  5. Interesting that Morse is the only ex-Bill getting immediate interest after the cuts.   Clearly he has value around the league.   I can see the Bills regretting not having Morse around this year.

Clarification: In England, teams are relegated because they finish in the bottom three in their league. Likewise teams move up a league if they finish in the Top 3 of the league below. It’s not because of money. With only one true professional football league in America that can’t happen. The closest thing we have here is baseball which has multiple tiers of professional leagues.

Just a further clarification.   Violation of the financial rules in English football results in point penalties that may but do not necessarily lead to relegation.  For example, this season, Everton was given a 10 point deduction which would put them in 17th place, one point above relegation.  It was reduced to a 6 point penalty on appeal which puts them in 16th place, 5 points clear of relegation. Without the penalty they would be in 13th place and out of the relegation discussion.

I’m sure there’s plenty of us Buffalo fans who’d pay that price for Lombardi glory 😂

I  know this is a joke but I really hope this is not true.   If it is true, some people really need to re-arrange their priorities.

  8. Why not a 6 rounder if your team is not too worried about cap space and the Jets pick up most of the salary?

If he looks awful, just cut him.   If he looks good in practice you can sign him to a new contract and it won't cost much.  If he looks good in games and someone else offers him more that you want to pay, it will help you with the comp pick formula.  If he actually looks like a legitimate starting QB, well then you have a QB.

Seems like a reasonable cost for a QB who has been awful but clearly has physical talent and also was in about a bad situation as possible from the QB development stand point.

Of course, this is totally dependent on the Jets picking up most of the salary.

what about Gregg Williams.   Super unlikable person & a very bad head coach

I have to agree on Gregg.   I would put Marrone 3rd on the list of least likeable coaches: (1) Gregg Williams  (2) Rex Ryan   (3)  Doug Marrone  (4) Mike Mularkey.    I would also add Tom Donahoe as least likeable GM.

  10. I could see them going to a FIFA style lottery to have new divisions every year.   You can have the drawing two weeks after the Super Bowl.  Imagine the ratings. It would blow the NCAA bracket drawing out of the water and keep the NFL front and center with all the networks/streaming services for another few weeks.

There are advantages.  For one thing, you don't have to watch the Jets twice every year.

On the other hand, there is something to be said for getting fresh eyes, ideas and concepts into an organization. Let's a team evolve and become less and less predictable.

There should be a fair mix of both IMO.

Isn't that why they hired Al Holcomb? To get outside view?  Otherwise I don't know what Holcomb's duties are.

What a fall from grace. He was a top 3 kicker last year and the year before. He was hitting the ball over the upright on 60 yard field goals. I just cant understand this fall.

He was never a top three kicker. His 87.1% in 2022 was #11 in the NFL that season.  Maybe you can say he was a top 10 kicker if you account for weather conditions, but over the last three years, opponent kickers in Bills games have made a higher percentage of field goals than Bass has. Bass has never been elite, but before this year, he was good enough for what the Bills needed.

    “Oh God, anybody but Allen”.

I literally have never heard anyone say this.  Now, it is true I don't listen to Nick Wright who basically is a Skip Bayless wannabe so possibly he said it.

It seems many people here want to be offended if anyone say the Bills are not absolutely unbeatable or that Josh Allen is not quite perfect.

  14.

So many people here looking for things to be offended by.   There's approximately 85.780 NFL media "experts", out there, you can always find someone saying something you don't like.   Right now, the media is overwhelmingly positive about the Bills, it's not just Romo.   It you go to other fans message boards, they talk about how the media and referees are treating Josh Allen just like Bills fans talk about how the media and referees treat Mahomes.

Still lower than all the other viewership by a substantial margin. You can twist it no matter how you like. It may be good streaming numbers but honestly doesnt have much competition. And when compared to games shown on both its not even in the same ballpark

As noted up thread, the Saturday night game is always the lowest rating game. People actually have stuff they would rather do on Saturday night.  The 23M is 7% higher than last year's game in the same time slot.

Obviously you have information to back this up and are not just spewing nonsense that popped into your head one day.

Please share the info and facts that you have, as I am eager to find out what specific information you have for this vital change you indicate is almost a sure thing.

It's kind of a big number for streaming though. Most people were hoping it would totally flop. It didn't. They're going to do this again.

NFL is definitely pushing it big time.  If it was network tv the Saturday night game would have been Browns-Texans.

Wow they were flexing that 23 million viewership and they were by far the least watched game... even loosing to a 4:30 monday game

The Saturday night game is usually the lowest rated game.  This year's 23M is 7% higher than last year's game in the same time slot though that is mainly because last year was Chargers Jaguars.

I signed up when they were running a deal on Black Friday in November. $1.99 a month, and can cancel at anytime. I wanted to see Bills/Chargers from my home. So basically cost me $6 to see both NFL games from my couch instead of spending many many times that $6 to go to a sports bar to watch. Plus, my wife has found some things she likes on there, so we may even keep the service. NOTE: this was/is the first time we had EVER signed up for ANY streaming service.

I think that's the whole point -- they hope that enough new subscribers keep their subscription to make money.   If 10% of the 23 million subscribed to get that particular game and 20% of those keep the subscription, that would be almost half a million new long term subscribers. I think they would be pretty happy with that.  They paid 110 million for the game but they get some of that back from advertising and so forth.

Wow, I see 23 million people were a part of HISTORY on peacock. Do they all get sent an 'I helped make history' badge?

I guess that Peacock  and the NFL is pretty happy with the 23 million viewership.  It was the most stream event ever in the US and viewership was just a little bit lower than might be expected if it was on live TV  (80% of Browns-Texans while the Sunday evening game was 90% of viewership of the Sunday afternoon).  It shows the NFL that a lot of people are willing to pay $6 to see a playoff game.  Expect to see more of the same in the future.

Seriously?  Have you ever read the things said on this board about Brady, Tua, Rodgers or any of our rivals? That stuff is written all the time here and elsewhere. If I only had a nickel for every time some player was called a douche here. It goes with being fanatics. Miami fans hate the Bills and especially Allen because he owns them and they are jealous we have him.

You want fans of all the other teams to call Allen every name possible because it would mean that the Bills have won multiple Super Bowls.  Right now it is only Dolphins fans and, to a much less extent, Jets and Pats fans that think he is a douche.  Once the Bills get the second Super Bowl, everybody will hate him.
