That's not a crazy trade-up scenario. Beane will view the extra 2025 2nd as money to play with this year.
-
Still too much uncertainty in hitting on a QB - even with that much draft capital.

Is there an argument to be made to pull forward picks to this year for difference makers on cheap contracts then spend big in FA next year on remaining holes with all the cap that's been cleared?
Rookies on cheap contracts certainly makes a good case.
If trading next year's 2nd gives 3rd round value this year, I'd probably pass.

Those who voted "best Bills receiver ever" obviously never saw Andre Reed play.
What would Allen have done with Reed in today's game? Something excellent no doubt.

Trade back and collect day 2 guys like it's going out of style
Beane will want to get back into the 3rd almost as much as he'll want to move up in the first. Will be difficult to do both unless he foolishly gives away next year's picks.

The double dip is most likely round 1/2 and round 4/5.

Next year's extra 2nd round pick and all of this year's picks are burning a whole in Beane's pocket. I'm sure he is dreaming of trading up and getting "his guy" because he just knows he'll hit on his guy - even if there is no case for it in a deep WR class.

Why anyone would give up draft assets for a WR with this class staring them in the face is truly baffling.

Beane is a guy who believes he has a better chance hitting on a guy that he bundled picks for and moved up to get than hitting on at least one out of a greater numer of picks.

In a functional organization, the QB doesn't call personnel shots over the Head Coach and GM. Weigh in? Sure. Not proceed with moving an older player when it's time? No.
-
Never. In a WR rich class trading up that high for one is just pissing away value.

I'm ok with the trade. If this is a bit of a reboot year with letting costly vets go then sure, do it all at once and move on. I'm actually glad to see the Bills move a player a year early rather than a year too late.

Re OP, yes it's a priority.

Round #1 - WR (4.3 speed or better) diggs, kincaid and shakir have the underneath
Round #2 - DL (beane cant help himself ) currently rousseau, epenesa, von, ed, daquan
Round #3 - NONE
Round #4 - OL ( bills have no depth right now)
Round #4 - Safety
I can't see Beane sitting out round 3.

It overall doesn't. You could argue they will want to draft a G/C, but I think that was already the case before Morse ...
Agree. I don't like having to rely on the assumption that McGovern is a center and Edwards is as effective as McGovern at guard.

Push these out a week. Having guys visit in spring with 4 inches of snow on the ground isn't a great first impression. The weather here stinks right now. Yuk. Finny because we actually had a great winter.
I love the snow. Every cold brisk day is a gift.

First or 2nd round WR now and the WR room is looking good.
To not draft a top end WR in a WR heavy draft would be criminal.

Please just draft a cost-controlled rookie who has strong WR1 potential. Enough with the side shows.

I'll say Beane will turn the 11 picks into no less than 8 to have a pick in Rounds 1-4.
Round 1, Pick 28
Round 2, Pick 60
Round 4, Pick 129
Round 4, Pick 133 (via compensatory)
Round 5, Pick 143 (from CHI)
Round 5, Pick 159 (from GB)
Round 5, Pick 162
Round 6, Pick 198 (from LAR)
Round 6, Pick 202 (from DAL)
Round 6, Pick 206
Round 7, Pick 246

If Milano weren't playing, I'd say Dorian Williams without hesitation.

1) Good enough as a backup and playing on affordable rookie contract
or
2) Showcase him in the first pre-season game and trade him

Lance Zierlein: Bills should draft 2 WR in the first 3 rounds

I can't. In a year where there is a deep WR pool and a need to fill out the roster with more young players, the desire to spend 2025 1st round value for 2nd round return this year is strong in many. WR is being thought of like QB. The concerns at IOL, edge, and safety can't be ignored.
