I saw some Seattle fans touching themselves over the PFF numbers, claiming he’s better than Fred Warner. They are in for a Boogie sized disappointment.

Breaking news, Russ requests his release 😂

The bolded is a weird position to take, would you also never franchise tag a guy, even a Josh Allen, ever? Like never ever? Signing the 5th year option for Edmunds worked out cause it was not that much, it also worked out with Oliver IMO. But I do understand your argument about leverage...especially in this case where it is a highly paid position like DE.
No it failed miserably with Edmunds, his market value was less than they paid for the 5th year option and worse, he outperformed it and then cost 35% more, so much so they had to let him walk. Either you extend or you franchise, you don’t lock yourself into a high risk low reward situation of the 5th year, it’s stupid.

Far more likely to trade down imo, though Beane does seem to force picks, not let it come to him, so a small move up could happen.

They still have Kirk Cousins, a 36 year old QB coming off an Achilles tear, so that doesn't make a big difference. Ask Dan Marino how QB's typically look after one of those...and he was a better QB than Cousins ever dreamt about being as a kid.
Yeah..40 years ago.

I’d be ALL about it if he will take an incentive based deal with a decent signing bonus. Like 2 years, 3M signing bonus, vet min this year and void next year. Play w Allen, boost your value and hope for the best.

You should NOT be signing any 5th year options. Ever. The difference between that and a franchise tag is minimal and it gives you ZERO flexibility to do anything. You either extend or ride it out. If you get a case like Edmunds, it buys you one more year at more than he was worth before the year, and then departing or you get somebody like EO who never answered if he was worth an extension, so you had to gamble anyway. If they had just extended Edmunds, he would have been worth ~ 2/3 of what he got paid, you allowed him to re-set his market. 5th year is nothing but a bargaining chip for teams, if the guy is t worth an extension, you ride it out, if he is, sign it before they add more dollars to that contract. Don’t screw around. It’s fools gold.

I would love to have him, fixes the return issue along with a vet for the slot. I’d prefer Shakir WIN the job, but I don’t want anything handed to anyone on this roster. Gabe Davis taking the job by default was bad enough, don’t need to watch that again.

That’s going to look like a bargain I believe, he was a pretty legit #1 prior to Fields. With all the attention going to London, Pitts and that running game.. they could be realllllly good.

If Moss has another year like he had last season i would really start second guessing the way coaches utilized him . I believe Moss may be depending again on how he is used more of a old school style back meaning that he needs more than a handful of carries to get in a groove .
Remember back in the day before it was 3 or 4 different RB's by commity in a game ? Kind of like Von had said about his approach . Moss may need more carries to see exactly how the opponent is blocking & where some openings are .
I never did like the pick when they drafted Moss but he always seemed to be a team guy I just wish he would have ran like he did least season while he was in Bills uni's . But players that were with the Bills seem to have good careers after they leave which is why when they are let go they get scooped up quickly .
I think he more or less proved the fact, he’s a rhythm kind of guy, needs a little to get it rolling and then he’s good. Never got that with DS and the stupid rotation here.- 1

Like it, if he’s healthy.. that’s always the issue. Wasn’t sure if I wanted him back or not, but my opinion doesn’t really matter lol.

I disagree, I think Higgins has been hidden by Chase’s talent and he’s going to really shine when he gets a chance to.
Higgins actually has MORE yards and touchdowns than Pittman even in a WR2 role.
We can agree to disagree, teams have to try to stop Chase, Higgins reaps the rewards. I see him closer to Gabe Davis than a Big time #1.

Good for him, gross over pay, but it’s not my money.

Good for him, he will feast out there with all the attention brought to others.

I'd deduct Murray but accept the other five.
When you consider the contracts, Love and Purdy are the only ones that really make sense.

Hes good but not Tee Higgins good. His deal will be a good idea where the market is at.He’s better than Higgins, just wait till Higgins doesn’t have Chase and Burrow to make him look great. Pittman has been the #1 with pure garbage at QB his whole career.

All depends on the color of his underwear this week.

I wouldn’t take on his contract with no picks involved. Forget about giving up a high pick too.

Seems like a low salary for him, but good for him.

First, I listen to Marino's podcast and I enjoy it because he is pragmatic and brings reasonable arguments, he is not always right but his thought process is good. What Marino said is what would need to happen. Knox is a restructure, not an extension. Not sure what you mean by same outcome without extending, guessing you mean restructure but that is what he is proposing for Knox already. Dawkins is an extension and that is needed to lower his cap number, he is in the last year of his deal.. He already has void money next year so they could add to that but they could extend him to keep him on the team after this year.
I hate the Zeke signing, he is done, I would rather keep the 6th or 7th round pick.
Did you watch Zeke last year? The guy is not done, he looked pretty darn good. He would be a nice compliment to Cook and he can still catch the ball. He’s not being asked to carry the load, just be the #2.

Yup lost me at the Epenesa contract. Starting money for a guy that’s barely done anythingThat’s not CLOSE to starting money for a DE.

The guy is a whiny brat, he checked out. He never wanted to take a hit, always diving down or going OB, which I get, but when they asked him to play more physical, take passes behind the LoS he quit. His lack of focus was obvious in the drops, etc. He needs a change of scenery, wish the Bills hadn’t trusted him and gave him a contract that makes it almost impossible to offload him without hurting themselves in a bad way.

I think that this is reasonable and that it will be the general direction that the Bills take. But it highlights my concerns with the team. The roster looks solid, but other than Allen it lacks difference makers. Some quality players will be on the roster for sure. Oliver and Milano on defense. Cook, Dawkins, Kincaid and Diggs on offense. But none of them are keeping HCs and coordinators up at night. Allen is going to need a lot more help.
ALL THIS! You can fill the roster out with replacement level guys when you have TRUE studs. KC won because they have the best player in the league at 3 different positions and one could argue Sneed makes it 4. The only place the Bills have anything near the best is Allen. Kincaid might get there, but not yet, Diggs was among the top WRs, but wasn’t this year (or the back half of last year either), if anyone says Oliver, you need your head checked. It can’t be Allen and a bunch of pretty good guys to unseat Mahomes , MaAuto and Mr. Jones, you ain’t keeping up.- 1

Which is why I am shocked people wanted to sign him to a contract like that.. as if it was ever, at all, possible.
He’s the best DT in the league, and DT’s do age well .. but Von was also at an elite level when we signed him.. looked every bit the elite player we paid for… until he got hurt.
Von’s a little older, but Chris Jones is a massive body and Von may be an anomaly freak of nature.
The risk here for the Chiefs is real. A risk absolutely worth taking .. and because it’s KC, I’m sure one that will have zero ramifications.
I doubt Jones will be a problem, but you just never know, it’s not hard for something to go wrong in the trenches. Also, like you said, he’s a BIG guy, a lot of stress on that body. For his sake, I hope he’s injury free forever, but we all know how the life of an NFL player can be altered in one step. -

It’s essentially a 3 year deal.
But it’s well worth it. Dude is a beast .
But hey we have Von right?
Jones is one freak injury away from being the same problem Von is. I don’t wish that on him, but Von was a case of terrible luck.

I wonder what they wanted at trade deadline last year.
Rumors were they wanted a 1st round pick, which was never going to happen.
Does Beane have anymore significant moves left in his bag of tricks?

If that’s the case we also need a starting SS.
