I edited it, to include Kittle and Andrews. It's true.

     https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/salaries/breakdown/tight-end/

Exactly that's my point!  His ceiling was a fairly consistent playmaker if he has enough support around him, why did we pay him elite TE money?! It is a disgusting contract any way you look at it, even getting full leniency for injuries, death of his brother etc. It's awful, awful. GM malpractice really.  Beane has been so damn good it's just shocking, that's why I can't get over it.  Miller was an elite player and it was risky contract but at least I understand the roll of the dice there.

Knox’s biggest issue is that the FO has taken far to much time finding replacements for Beasley and Brown/ Sanders, ( remember Knox’s production when we had them?).  We have been using a WR 3/4 as our 2nd boundary/#2 receiver, (Davis) who doesn’t take coverage away from anyone as of late. Shakir is in effect our New 3/4 receiver, taking Gabe’s role going forward, which imo is an improvement.

Kincaid is in all reality our new Beasley, and we are still lacking a #2 WR, to fill John Browns role, which will take coverage away from Diggs and or the middle of the field, until we get our new John Brown we aren’t able to clear out the middle of the field or take  extra coverage away from Diggs or our TEs.

We have to find our new John Brown this off season, it’s imperative that this happens. When it does happen, all of our receivers will then be facing far more favorable coverages, which is a good thing.  It then becomes a pick your poison problem for opposing defenses if they double up a Kincaid or say Diggs…, we got a Shakir, Knox or our new John  Brown in good position to make plays, it becomes a win win situation for our offense.

    Just sayin…,

and Henry... I would LOVE to have the big man pounding the rock when we need the tough yards or need to ice the game

A Henry type RB would be certainly nice, but imo, not as important an acquisition  as getting a new John Brown type of receiver, but bigger, and ideally through the draft that can go long with speed and be a screen pass option type of thing, a guy who can run an expanded route tree, fingers crossed 🤞

we REALLY need some speed at WR.

It feels like we never hit a deep ball anymore, and it used to be a big part of the offense.

I feel like I've never seen Kittle have a big game

Yup, that speed you speak of comes from the Brown / Sanders replacement, that has yet to happen. Just think of our offense with Diggs, (the new John Brown), Shakir, Kincaid, and Knox, catching the ball, add in the RBs and ya got  a pick your poison scenario for defenses, God I hope Beane out does himself in this regard…, we really need this to happen.

Knox didn't suddenly become unable to make plays.

We lost Beasley, Brown and Sanders and basically didn't replace them until this year with Kincaid. in 2022 we brought Brown and Beasley out of retirement for a playoff run for crying out loud!

Shakir has made some nice plays, and hopefully he continues to develop. But we forget that we had Diggs, Brown, Beasley, Sanders and Knox. We used to have actual deep threats on the team to open up space.

This, except we only replaced the Beasley part of those losses with Kincaid,  Shakir is the new 3/4 WR, replacing Davis…,  we still don’t have the Brown or Sanders replacement, this needs to be addressed this off season, jmo.

    I think all of the catching portion of WRs game went down when Chad Hall left except for Shakir due to Eric Moulds tutoring;

Gabe's run blocking also improved this year.

Run blocking is not what one wants to remember their WR2 for, and sadly that was what happened, Gabe’s chronic/annual ankle injury and his catch percentage over time really doomed his future with the Bills imo, he as said up thread was the best WR4 in the league.

  7. To the OP, that could very well have been the case, but the team going forward, especially the defense will be substantially different personnel wise.  The offense will have an OC that will have installed his own system/schemes and is likely to look different as well, with some new guys there as well, I suspect the team will be in the fight all season long, win another AFCE crown, and I hope will go further in the post season, every season is new and what happened last year is no longer relevant.

  8. From what I’ve watched It’s a league with bad QBs that is pretty much a step below NFL practice squads in talent, it could very well “develop” “over time” into an actual feeder league, if it doesn’t go bankrupt in relatively near future, ( the NFL already has a huge feeder league via the college ranks) its business plan will need really deep pockets to keep it afloat long term. I guess it could be like watching triple or double A baseball teams, which can be fun, when I lived in Rochester I liked going to Red Wings games,

Anybody still think Beane is a number wizard?!?

Yup, Better at it than anyone who posts here, I’m not concerned in the slightest, Beane knew all of this cap fun was coming a year plus ago, and knew he wasn’t resigning the guy from the get go.  I’m certain he has this well in hand, but feel free to fret over it,
