right I got 7.5 on Monday morning as soon as i hear about the Injury before it was off all the boards. now its back on at an in-between line of 5.5 which shows some worry but is not damning yet.

To be clear, it didn't come off "all the boards".  In fact, DK might have been one of the few (or only major sportsbook) that took it down for a little while.

Many others kept it up (Fanduel, betmgm, Caesars, to name a few majors).  And the line has gradually dropped as $$$ continues to come in on Minny.

McDermott presser is scheduled for noon tomorrow, will find out then if Josh is possibly going to play this week.  But the line movement to date is not indicative of him sitting, more bettors "guessing"/hedging (as you did).

Agree.  As others said, he is sometimes spot on with advanced knowledge and sometimes it doesn't come true/or not immediately...ie: recall him mentioning Speedy getting more involved last yr right before he was activated for McKenzie at PR.

    Is it 4pm Wednesday yet

At -6 and dropping; will come down more before game time.

I'm surprised it's still this high.

Most sports books give people the ability to "cancel" their bet, before the game starts.

Line dropping gradually, is money coming in on Vikes (people either hedging, like said above and/or truly think Minny is within a TD of Bills).  Any indication that Allen is surely out this week, and this line flips to Minny being favored.

When Allen missed 4 weeks in 2018 from UCL, he was in significant pain on sideline and had immediately come out of the game.

This time, he grabs/massages arm for a moment then uncorks a 70 yard pass

Agree.  Our favorite reporter (Thad Brown 👎) wrote an article in 2018 discussing what is called a "milking test".

Basically a very quick test on the UCL, when the UCL is sprained badly or torn it will induce quite a bit of pain.  I'd assume the trainers did during the Jets timeout yesterday, or something more than Josh just saying he's ok to return.

As I said earlier I have no reason to think Erik Turner is making things up. At this point we just have to wait and see how severe it is. I'm thinking the Bills put something out to Rappaport to quell some of the rumors floating around... but they don't really know anything for sure yet.

Being overdramatic and putting out anything in advance, other than "we hear he's undergoing testing/more to come as we find out" is ridiculous.  Clickbait or not, alot of fans care alot about the team/Josh's health...no reason to be dramatic, unless certain.

As much as I like their reviews/commentary, this type of thing turns me off to their content...

Whelp if the Cover1 people turned out to be posting click bait garbage I will never post them on this site again.

Agree, this would be FANTASTIC...after all the doom and gloom.

    As I said before:

    1. Josh has had a UCL before, he immediately collapsed to the ground and removed from game.

    2. Jets took a timeout, gave our training staff a chance to look him over/talk to him.  Now Josh could have said "I'm ok", but they aren't risking their franchise QB on 4th and 21 (low chance of converting, in a regular season game).

    3. Josh knows his arm, he isn't unloading a 60+ yard pass if he thinks he has an issue.  He's a super tough/competitor, but not enough to risk a serious injury (if he thought it was more than minor)

  7. I think it's less about Daboll, because same thing happened with him running the show LY (and McDermott also made similar comments).

Alot of this comes down to Josh and offense executing.  Josh had a lot of open underneath/checkdown options yesterday, coupled with 2 critical turnovers.  Especially the turnovers NEED to stop. Even with a bad offensive outing, if we don't turnover both times this is likely a close win.

Dorsey/Josh will get it figured out.  I really think we need to get the targets spread around, get more Knox/slot Wr/Rb targets in pass game.  Get these quick hitters, let our playmakers get into a groove.. feel like Josh has just been inconsistent with some of his processing/progressions.  Need to execute better, the plays are there to be had.

    The last 6 quarters....

    Josh Allen

    24-of-48 for 261 yards 0 TDs 4 INTs

Drives (going back to halftime of the GB game)

    FG

    INT

    INT

    PUNT

    INT

    TD

    PUNT

    TD

    Miss FG

    INT

    FG

    PUNT

    Turnover on downs

It's time to get back to some less aggressive/quick rhythm passing, 3 steps and deliver.  Spread the targets around, and then Diggs targets will naturally occur (too much forcing right now).

This just needs mixed in more, it's like a running attack and get ahead of the sticks.  Too many long developing pass plays, put alot of pressure on the oline...but Josh also needs to hit those checkdowns/easy passes, instead of hero ball.

Dorsey/Josh will get this back on track, just frustrating to waste a loss.

But you get better by learning from mistakes, hopefully these past 6 quarters are a distant memory after next few games.

  9. It's called being undersized/outmuscled in the front 6, combined with poor tackling.  Being in nickle doesn't bother me, Taron is a physical player.

Gap integrity also fell apart that last drive.  At some point, it would be nice to line up in a 5 man front or blitz Bernard (this is something he's instinctive and good at), but we blitzed our safeties instead (Hamlin good, but JJ missed alot).

Thanks for adding so much to the conversation and being a reasonable human to a reasonable question.

But sure, here you go. Knox is running routes on 5.6% less plays than he did in 2021. In the last 3 weeks his decline is less than 5% decrease in routes run.

    https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/dawson-knox/#bio

    https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/reports/snap-count-analysis/?team=BUF&snaps=10

Go find a more accurate hill to die on and stop being such a curmudgeon. Maybe you should have tried looking it up…

He isn’t running less routes though. Everybody keeps parroting that it’s because he’s blocking so much more….but he’s not. He’s just being targeted less.

You could be right, but just based on watching (not reviewing every single game/play), it seems we are using Knox alot to chip & release.

Against Rams and Miami, they both rushed 5 or more, and definitely seemed like Knox stayed in to block (no release in those games).

Not sure how that site you reference accounts for chip/release, in terms of routes ran.  But bottom line is Knox definitely can be a mismatch, and we're not seeming to utilize/execute plays to him.

Wouldn’t it just be easier to have a mash J. Johnson thread? Because he was terrible today

Agree.  It's a shame that we had BOTH Poyer and Hyde out for our divisional games, just happened to be 2 Ls.

Way too many missed tackles last week 2nd half, and this week as well.  Need to fix this asap, before playing 2 run heavy teams in coming weeks

I would have hoped that my 6'5" Pro Bowl linebacker wouldn't get out muscled for a ball he possessed on the ground.

Tremaine didn't get outmuscled, he juggled it and gained possession just before hitting the ground and Jets TE basically put his hands in there.

As to challenging, I doubt it would have been overturned although drfinitely think it was a pick.  Never seen a  simultaneous catch overruled.  One angle showed Jets TE no longer touching the ball, but our luck they would have ruled that Tremaine still didn't have possession.

He literally hit Gabe Davis in the chest on the final play Gabe just isn’t a number 2 receiver

Sure.  Not saying he didn't make any plays at all, of course he did.

But his decisions were far below his standard of play.  That 1st pass to Knox, 2nd Int fooled by a cover 2 look, and ehat should have been a 3rd Int later on.

All that said, he was doing similar to what he did against Jacksonville last year.  Almost carbon copy of the game, he needed to take more check downs, ie: Knox/Rbs chipping.  Or the open short crossing patterns.

Bottom line, we shouldn't have needed a 4th and 21 conversion with 40 seconds left to win today.

No OL is going to look good when you’re wildly predictable and the defense can just pin their ears back.

Allen had the chance to dagger them early and put us in the position we were in.

Im all for a heavy offense draft for once, but the pass rush issue today was partially of our own creation.

Agree.  Daboll had the same problem here, perhaps it's more to do with how poor our OL is at run blocking.

I love Dorseys aggressiveness.  Josh had open checkdowns and Shakir several times on crossing routes.  Josh was forcing way too many passes, on a day where we just needed to stay in 3rd/short and not turnover the ball.

Bass: missing a field goal. Yes it’s 55 yards, but a lot of kickers can make that…including him. In a 3 point loss, that missed FG means a lot.

Josh: two horrible, horrible picks that would even make Justin Fields blush. Josh couldn’t make any throws and even ones where he connected, he was off target preventing YAC. Notably is the first pass of the game to Diggs, if that is accurate, that’s a TD. Same with the overthrow of Hines and Diggs later in the game. Just a terrible performance by him. This game should be the dagger in his MVP hopes. Hopefully he’s not hurt otherwise our season is sunk.

Jaquan Johnson: he was absolutely brutal today. Just like giving up the bomb on 3rd and 15 that would be the go ahead touchdown against Miami, he cost us this game. He had numerous missed tackles, poor instincts, bad angles, weak in coverage. The last drive alone the kept running to the weak side right at him and he couldn’t stop squat. I honestly don’t see how they can start him from now on with dean Marlowe now here. Anytime JJ is on the field, we can’t stop anything.

Coaches: bad game plan. Seems like we didn’t have any game plan on offense at all. They just want Josh to go out and make a play which is terrible. Frazier couldn’t do anything on defense to stop the run for two weeks in a row.

Agree on all but coaches.  We tried a lot, but can only do so much missing 3 All Pro secondary players + our best LB.

Not to mention Groot going down with an ankle.

Jaquan Johnson needs benched, plain and simple.  Had this conversation with @GunnerBill at beginning of year, that Hamlin was the much better safety and JJ lacks too much athletically.
