  1. I think this does mean that K Johnson probably won't be back, but in a positive way because he is almost certain to make more than 7-8 mil. Norman is almost a K. Johnson signing in that it's someone familiar to the coaching staff that's trying to re-establish his value brought in on a one year deal. When you look at what Mcdermott, Frazier, Butler, and Babich Jr. have done for the value of Tre, Poyer, Hyde, Johnson, and Wallace, I can't think of a reason any db wouldn't want to come here for a year or two to see what they can do.

Greatest Eagle of all time? It's between Reggie White and Peters. Reggie had 8 seasons of brilliance.  Peters now has 11 seasons of HOF play.

    Any old-timers I'm missing?

I'm still leaning to Reggie because of a trio of seasons where he had 18+ sacks. Absolutely dominating play.

Steve Van Buren. Multiple league Mvp. All time rushing leader when he retired. Cornerstone of greatest era of Eagles football. Then White and Bednarik.

Back on August 16th, there was a post here about NFL Head Coach security Ratings. Here's the thread:

The article referenced by the OP was by Dan Hanzus (Around the NFL Writer). In his rating, he had McDermott rated as the 12th most secure NFL coach. Link below:

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001041522/article/nfl-head-coach-jobsecurity-rankings-whos-safe-on-hot-seat

I just wanted to revisit this, and see what people thought, now, given the Bills' 3-0 record, the "Super Bowl Bound" Browns' meltdown, the mess in New Jersey, Antonio's Trail of Teams Spilling Tears, the unfortunate loss of Big Ben in Pitt, the uncertainty surrounding the Kyler Murray Experiment... the list goes on.

    1,2,3, Discuss!

(Credit to @MJS as the OP!)

Sean probably moves up two spots to ten ahead of Arians and Tomlin. No one in the tier above is falling out yet. Although Gruden and Petersen may be dropping a couple spots.

"He did not have a good training camp and threw four interceptions in the preseason games, ending any hopes he had of making the roster."

He also knows the next two offenses we are going to play as well as anyone, being he played on the Giants last year and Jets this preseason. If we start 2-0 he probably deserves a game ball.  This is Bellichick level stuff.

According to good old Mike Florio from PFT, Josh Norman could be a Cap casualty if Washington can’t get him to restructure.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/05/31/could-josh-norman-be-a-post-june-1-cap-casualty/

If this happens, do you see the Bills taking a shot at brining him to Buffalo?  He’s 31 years old but can still serve as a capable starter for a few seasons.  There are many connections why I think this move would make sense:

Brandon Beane was likely involved in the selection of Norman in Carolina.

Norman excelled in McDermott’s defense and his best years came in his defense.  Carolina wasn’t the same team when they let him walk.

Norman knows the defensive scheme we’ll and is a good process guy.

    I

Mcdermott was the one who found Norman in Carolina. He's talked about it in newspaper articles about finding Norman on tape and how he was taught to watch tape and scout dbs by his mentor Jim Johnsom. That said our corner back depth is spectacular. Norman may come into play if there are injuries though.

Now that Day 1 is over, who would you all like to see fall to us on Day 2? If this is already being discussed, please merge.

    I'm thinking either

    1)  J. Taylor

    2)  DK

    3)  Greedy

Dalton Risner for culture, Taylor for need, and B. Murphy for scheme fit.

Sean took a team that no business being in the playoffs to 9-7 and did sneak into the playoffs.

He is superb at putting avg defensive players and making them play as a whole unit.

    McKelvin and McGahee

    who is a WR/CB with a Mc?

    Never mind we have Roberts.

He took a team with Tyrod Taylor as its starting QB to the playoffs. And don't forget. Mcdermott and Beane really are a team. They work together well and make each other better.

    Here's my wishlist:

    • RT in FA to avoid the need to spend early picks on the OL. Williams or James are the obvious choice. I'd love to pick up another G, but I suspect we draft one in the first 4 rounds and let them compete with Teller.
    • Edge rusher like Za'Darius Smith because we will have a bare cupboard next year unless we break the bank for an avg starter in Lawson or a great player approaching the latter part of his career in Hughes.
    • Trade for a WR, I don't like the FAs available. You can probably get a decent starter by swapping first round picks with a team that wants to move up and throwing in a mid-round pick. Obviously if we're going for top tier players, we'd likely have to pay more, but I'm fine with picking up a WR2 and not shooting our cap situation in the foot to sign the maybe # guys out there in Williams, Beasley and Tate, who are any good.
    • Sign Thomas Davis - our LB depth is not good and he is a great locker room guy who still produces. We NEED him to teach Milano and Edmunds how to be next-level.
    • Draft a DT in the 1st if we don't trade down and DK Metcalf is gone.
    • Draft Hockenson/Fant or Lindstrom if we trade back into the teens.
    • Draft Dalton Risner if we trade back into the 20s
    • Draft a WR in Rd 2 - N'Keal Harry if he's around please. We need to walk out of the draft with at least 2 solid WR prospects.
    • Draft one of Hunter Renfrow/Deebo Samuel/Hakeem Butler somehow
    • Draft a RB somewhere in our 4 picks in rds 4 and 5
    • Draft a developmental LB somewhere - every prospect I know is either a mike or a will, so suggestions would be appreciated
    • Draft a punter (ours are terrible)

Because you asked. I would bet Drue tranquill from ND ends up on our roster. Like Milano he's a converted safety. Tested welll at the combine. And is a fifth year senior. Extremely processy.

i dont think williams will get that kind of money, maybe 4/40.

Just look at demand for tackles the last couple years. No one thought Ricky Wagner would get the contract he got last year. Then you saw teams trade up in the first round for Mcglinchy and Miller. Now today, Brown got  16 Mil. per year and James 13 mil.  As much as I'd like to say we get him for 10MIl. per year. The market is saying something different.

If we can land one more solid offensive guard or tackle that allows us to go best player available at 9.  It would put Hockenson, Metcalf, or a D-tackle in play at 9.  If we can't grab another O-lineman in free agency, I think we should go O-line at 9.  We need to put an solid O-line in front of Allen.  I hope we can grab another free agent O-lineman and have more flexibility at 9

I agree but if the ol we sign isn't a tackle. We almost have to go that way.
