Am I the only one who opened this thread expecting to see a story about how Brandon Beane was getting his MD this year?

No that is not what they mean...it means game clock as in before the end of the quarter/half, etc..
Play clock is too subjective because of the way it is handled by the backjudge who has to look from the clock to the center and see if there is any movement of the ball and due to the kind of arbitrary nature of when it is restarted after the play by the play clock operator. Technically the play clock could expire but because of the delay of the backjudge looking to the center to see, the snap could still get away and this is considered a legal snap and more importantly the NFL WANTS it to be considered a legal snap and err on the side of the offense. They do not want more penalties on the offense that could reduce scoring.
There was a former NFL official on WGR the other day talking about this after they announced the changes and the reasoning behind why this only involves the game clock and not the play clock, since the game clock has no subjectivity attached to it.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to just remove the subjectivity attached to the play clock as well? If they can do it for the game clock they could for the play clock. That’s what frustrates many people. The NFL has enough ambiguous rules. Removing subjectivity where possible seems like a logical step.
Edit to add: The NBA doesn’t seem to have a problem with their shot clock. If it’s at 0 and the ball hasn’t left your hand, it has expired. The NFL should be the same way. If the play clock hits zero and the ball isn’t moving to initiate the snap, it’s a penalty.

Hard Knocks has been airing since 2001.
Not a single team has made it to the SB when the were featured on HK.
The closest was the 2010 Jets. They made it to the AFC CG where they lost to the Steelers.
This belief "we get to see what goes on behind the scenes" etc,,, is all BS.
HK is like every other reality TV show.
Media manipulated to drive "drama".
If somebody needs that kind of fake drama, go watch Wrestling.
I am a Hard No on Hard Knocks.
In Hard Knocks defense, the Bills haven’t had it since its inception and they don’t have an NFL championship either.
-
Yes please. I have been hoping for a Bills
hard knocks for a long time. That being said, I still think the Bears would have to be the top choice.

Wow. The NFL did not get dejected by poor numbers in the post season peacock game last season. Eagles in Brazil is the game.
Also, Amazon prime will get the same with a playoff game.
😠
Why would the Eagles have the first game of the season? As the defending champs, it has to go to Kansas City.

Amazing overpayment at this point of Tre’s career. If healthy and based on his past, non injury seasons, then this is fair. With the injury uncertainty, he should be thanking his agent with a giant bonus. Nevetheless, not a guy I’d ever root against, Tre was nothing but a warrior during his time here. Weird to see him with another team. And if any team other than the Bills wants to overpay anyone, more power to them.

Leave it to the NFL to solve a miniscule problem (game clock) and completely ignore the actual, frequent problem (play clock)

I don’t ever remember any issue where the game clock expired and they let the play go off. If this is truly game clock and not play clock, then this is a rule to solve a problem that doesn’t even exist.

IMO they should have also implemented an accompanying change to the onside kick format. Should have made it a 4th and 20 play from the kickoff yard line. If you are eliminating surprise onside kicks anyways, should have changed up how they work.
-
It was either this or completely eliminate the kick off. I’m not sure which I prefer, but I’m willing to give this one a try.
How do the players know the kickoff returner has touched the ball? Surely they don’t turn around to watch. Do the officials blow a whistle to indicate it?

Absolutely fake news. If it was legit, it would actually make me a fan of his.

Maybe I'm biased, but I absolutely despise Martin. That play in the WC game where he got hurt last year (PICKING UP HIS HAND WARMER!!!!) before running after the player who recovered the fumble from the blocked punt was one of the worst plays I've seen since the infamous butt fumble. He should have got a lot more criticism for that embarrassing play. He should be run out of town.
It also cost us a lot in the KC game since he wasn't 100%
Martin is clearly not an athlete. But worse than that, I'm not sure he knows how to stretch properly. A punter should be the most well-stretched player on the field. Has he never run a sprint before?
Bean has screwed up the punting situation massively.
Years of Brian Moorman led me to believe that it's not that hard to get a solid athletic Punter. Moorman was small AF but he was also a really great athlete. Did he ever get hurt during his long tenure?
I don't know what Sam Martin is. I'd say he's a bum. Kick his ass to the curb.
One of my biggest takeaways from that fiasco was, how bad was Haack punting in practice that you let Martin punt injured? AND why did you then bring Haack back after the playoffs?

He knows Denver is going to have first pick.
He wants his kid to stay in Colorado?
Denver looks like they’re actually tanking.
Is he even that good of a prospect? Didn’t he have a mediocre year and would have been like the 6th QB taken this season?
-
They were already picking 31st 😂. Moving it to the end of the 4th round will really show them.

Sad to see his name linked to other teams. But it was for the best for both parties. Wish him nothing but the best and a speedy recovery.

Don’t let him leave the building.

Idk what he pays his agent. But it’s not enough.

could only mean they will be cutting DHOP .....
then the Dhop to bills thread can fire up again.....wouldn't that be great ?
I predict they will be mighty disappointed if they cut DHOP and expect a massive production boost out of Ridley.

Incentives need to include "not getting hurt in or before the second game" - 5,000,000
If he signs a heavily incentive laden deal then it’s on him if he gets hurt. Not playing = not making your incentives. Not helping the team, but not leeching future cap off them either.
-
Wow, that is an insane number for Ridley.

Difference is we could dictate this guys contract. For a cheap one year deal, he’s absolutely worth it. If he won’t take that, then he’s definitely not worth it.

He’ll get a weekend in jail or something idiotic. I have zero faith in the justice system to actually work when it comes to the uber-wealthy and famous.
