    My top 5 sporting events:

    1. European Championship Final

    2. World Cup Final

    3. Superbowl

    4. Australian Football League Grand Final

    5. Bathurst 1000 (V8 Supercars)

The soccer finals, as a general rule, tend to disappoint. The 2022 World Cup final being a brilliant exception. However, the tournaments themselves are brilliant and will be in my top 5.

As much as I love football and the Bills the Superbowl isn't an event I've ever been to or will likely get to so I struggle with it. Especially as it's usually preceded by disappointment with the Bills being knocked out a week or two earlier. When the Bills play in it and it's in London I might change my mind 😜 I think it's a cultural difference between the US and the UK.

I'll throw The Ashes in there as an event which has the history, build up and in the last 20 years or so, produced some of the most memorable matches ever. The last series was immense.

Clowns up in here saying signing a guy like this who may not even make the roster means:

Beane only knows about the Panthers

We’ve abandoned any chance of getting younger

DT draft prospects just got Thanos snapped

He’s a reincarnation of a former signee because he once wore the same helmet

That his contract and role is similar to said former signee

That said former was a complete failure who never contributed

I’m disappointed that no one has used this as proof that McD is on the hot seat, that Diggs has demanded a trade or that we’re purposely trying to harm poor Josh.  Come on clowns, try harder.

Give it time. They'll still be working out how to get out of bed.

I don't believe so.  I recognize elements from his early work, and one character seems to have a similar line of business from Breaking Bad.

It's worth a watch. Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant are excellent. In fact, I think it might have been Grant's finest acting moment since he told the cops the prostitute fell into his car as he was driving. The scenes with Farrell in the take away and the gangsters trying to get mobile phones off of street urchins are brilliant.

It also has Michelle Dockery in who plays a very fine gangster's wife.

I'll try and catch a couple of episodes of the series over the weekend.

2/3 through "The Gentlemen"  Great show/series- gonna be bummed when we finish it.  It's Guy Ritchie, and it's a bit of a nostalgic indulgence for him, but still very fun and (mostly) original(ish) terrain.   Vinnie Jones is fantastic, again.

Signature over-the-top cool with top-notch acting, cinematography, directing, editing vision, sets, soundtrack, mixing, etc.  Great interplay between the shot angles and the editing- very well thought out.

I can't think of a way to not recommend the show... other than not for kiddos and the more easily offended.

Have you seen the movie this series was spun from?

  5. After posting Dub Be Good To Me by Beats International it got me thinking about musical links. Dub Be Good To Me was co-written by Norman Cook. Cook who was a member of The Housemartins before Beats International and after that he re-invented himself as disco biscuit hero Fatboy Slim.

An added bonus of of Fatboy Slim is Christopher Walken in this video.

And then, also in The Housemartins was Paul Heaton (who I've been asked if I am 2 times in my 44 years on this planet) who went on to form The Beautiful South with Jacqui Abbott.

    I've always liked this song.

There was a British TV drama in the early 90scalled "Civvies" which told the story of a group of servicemen returning to civilian life after leaving the army. Brothers in Arms was the them tune to the show and it has always stuck with me since then.

The show was written by renowned TV drama writer Lynda La Plant. I recommend it if you can find it somewhere.

To a soccer player this just sounds silly. Every soccer player can aim a kick as well as kick a ball a certain distance.

Some soccer players can do it way more accurately and further than others. Hence you have players who are great at set piece deliveries and shots at goal than others.

I'd like to think goalkeepers would make decent punters and place kickers as they've honed the technique better over a longer period of years.

Yikes. That's not a great record.

Seeing as I've been going to Bills games since my late grandfather had season tix at the Rockpile, there are too many games to count.  I know I am 0-2 at Bills Super Bowls though 😭

For the past 7 years or so been going to 1-2 games per year.  I was on a super winning streak until last season...attended the Minnesota game and then Cincinnati playoffs.  My luck came to an end.  Brutal.

What were the Super Bowls like? More the build up before the game and atmosphere etc.

  9. I'll probably just log on to Twitter and be the biggest c**t you've ever seen on social media.

Seriously, I'll sit back with a large glass of Kraken rum. Drink it slowly with a medium to large grin on my face and consider my work on this planet done. Then get the lap top out to search for flights to Toronto to get to the parade.
