  1. Not starting any Bills speculation but I gotta admit on Day 3 after the Bills take a WR in the first to follow up a deal with Brandon for a 2025 pick or two wouldn’t be the worst thing

Good point 78.  We will have to see what happens come draft night.  (I love your user name.  Never really thought about it.  Until I just read your response. Very sweet.  Bruce was a special player.  And a real good guy also.)

Loved the guy man was the reason I started watching the Bills and I was a Hokies fan from way back so I followed him in college and you where darn good yourself.

I was going to say the final word on this comes from Gabe who basically said the people that think Josh doesn’t work with his guys in the off season was total bs he just doesn’t have a camera shoved in everyone’s face for social media to look at. This whole thread was an embarrassment.

    Lol

Yes, the Bills  were terrified of such a dominant player, so just desperately ran and ran (as you say, 'away") from him.  Parsons played a great game, but the Bills were just clever enough to keep away from that powerful, immovable force that is Parsons.

I am reconsidering my position and now think the Bills merely got (very) lucky this past year against him and the girls, and were just somehow able to 'run away' from Parsons, getting monumentally lucky they were fast enough to keep away from that dominant brute.  It is terrifying to think what the girls and Parson will do to the poor Bills the next time they play each other.

No, it shows his greatness and that the Bills just lucked out--don't worry the girls will almost assuredly come through the  next time when the Bills aren't so lucky..

The Bills have their own problems but saying Micah Parsons is somehow terrible is living in an alternate universe. He’s literally one of only two guys in nfl history with at least 12 sacks his first 3 years not even Bruce did that

I disagree that Parsons is how you define him above, and he is not the 'legit best defensive player in the league'.

If he was he would show up in big games, consistently, and not simply disappear, and get displaced like a small rag doll against the good defenses, the good teams, like he did against the Bills and others the last few years.   When I want a good laugh I still watch parts of this year's  game, remembering how so many foolish people predicted that the girls would beat up on the poor, hapless Bills.  And the girls' defense!!  Look out! They were going to wreak havoc on the poor Bills, with that beast Parsons leading the charge. The Bills threw him around like he was a small weak child playing with men.

BUT I hope the girls' pay him as if he is how you define him.

They literally ran away from Parsons the entire game

    Cosell is a smart guy.

But most fans who watch the team week in and week out could easily see that Diggs wasn’t making many big plays any longer in the second half of the season.  And on top of that his body language looked very apathetic about the entire thing.  Some guys just fall off pretty hard at a certain point.

Beane is no dummy.  He gets paid a lot of money to be one of 32 NFL GM’s.  And he is one of the best of that small group.  He watched all the games.  He watched the film after the season.  I am sure he talked with McDermott and Brady and whomever else he needed to talk to about Diggs.  And he came to the conclusion it was time to get rid of him.  His play wasn’t worth the aggravation or the money.  And to get a 2nd round pick for him before he looks like he doesn’t belong on an NFL field any longer was brilliant.

I liked Diggs a lot.  But he certainly isn’t great anymore.  Or very good for that matter.  Whether he is even good any longer should be the question that Houston and their fans should be asking.

I am excited about the Bills and their reset of the roster.  The roster was getting stale w veterans who were no longer in their prime-Diggs included.  Beane will have us a strong solid roster come August once again.

I agree Paup the only thing is I wish they had a guy behind him so if they did this with Diggs it doesn’t look now like they are totally desperate for a wr at the draft and have teams jumping them

Sure didn’t look like the best when they played Buffalo or against the Niners in the divisional round. Not saying he’s not great, but I don’t think he’s the best. I think Nick Bosa is much more of a well rounded pass rusher.

Bosa is great but he plays with better front 7 talent…Players who have registered 12 or more sacks their first three seasons in the NFL.....................Reggie White and Mica Parsons.

Until you run the ball right at him like the Bills did and then he is exposed.

Exposed as what? Dan Quinn had him play snaps at 8 different positions last year. Nobody in the league does that

Did he play against the Bills because I sure didn’t notice him.

1st team all pro in 2023 and 2nd team all pro in 2024 so yes

Uh oh...Diggs part II...let's see if the National Media turn this into the blazing 5 alarm fire like they did the  Diggs situation...

Report from 105.3 The Fan that he has heard from at least 4 "sources" inside the Cowboys locker room that if Parsons was traded there might not be as many people upset as your would think and that his act is wearing thin in the locker room there...

    https://www.audacy.com/1053thefan/sports/dallas-cowboys/is-micah-parsons-behavior-wearing-thin-at-the-star

Here’s the problem Parsons is legit the best defensive player in the league just approaching his prime there’s a pretty good chance the other guys go who said this before him as Jerry will find out.

Simmer down, Shorty.  Please explain why you think we should all take the generic "Cover1" account as insider gospel on the Bills?

I don't want to diss of the work those guys do breaking down film and talking Bills, but they don't even get inside the locker room.

Ever watch Cover 1 Bills videos they literally blame Allen for everything it’s almost comical. I stopped watching them after they couldn’t stop magnifying how the Eagles overtime loss was completely Allen’s fault.

McD and Beane are on the same level to me, tier 2.  They are very good/would get hired instantly by another team.

They just haven't proven to be able to:

    1. Coach: Make necessary adjustments/get us over the hump in playoffs

    2. Beane: outside of the Allen pick and Diggs trade, he hasn't drafted any "superstars".  Looking at other top-tier teams, who have multiple superstars, he has put together very good teams/depth.

Coach needs to improve, but so does Beane.  He needs to find a superstar in one of these drafts, ideally this year's.  I've also had an issue with Beane DL acquisitions, agree with his philosophy, but he has striked out alot (draft and FA).  Ignored WRs early in draft, and didn't prioritize OL until LY.

Beane and Coach aren't the problem, but we need to get better talent and execute when It matters.  They need to be better I'd we want a SB

    You aren’t wrong

No, he got an extension because Terry likes and believes in him.  So again he is only on limited time with a few fans, not the owner.

No he wouldn’t be employed if he selected any player not named Josh Allen in 2018 and that includes Lamar Jackson.

  13. 35 minutes ago, SoonerBillsFan said:

Prove it.  He got an extension last year and Terry has given him and McDermott both a vote of confidence.   The only people he is on borrowed time with is a few fans.

He got an extension cause of 17 nothing more nothing less

  14. He’s an average GM who closed his eyes in the 2018 draft and picked one Josh over the other. He’s missed on a bunch of picks but that’s the nature of the business.
Should we give him a chance to do a mini rebuild which he claims the Bills are not in and see what the team looks like this summer I will but the man is on borrowed time and he knows it.

It's more likely that Beane works for McD practically speaking, but reports to Pegula formally, with McD working for Pegula more directly.  Beane was hired on McD's recommendation.

We now have an ongoing conflict-of-interests.

I think you’re right … Terry Pegula is one of the wealthiest owners in sports if he wanted to he could can Beane and McDermott and start from scratch and not lose any sleep but it’s clear Mcdermott and Pegula wanted Diggs gone and Beane is just the guy dealing with the media.

  16. Josh Allen has very little input on this team don’t kid yourself or he would have been hammering them to get him more help years ago.

Brandon Beane works for Terry Pegula. It’s more than likely Terry Pegula approved this trade. The media basically does what Terry Pegula tells them since Brandon Beane is just Pegulas mouthpiece.

For those who don't want to pay the totally-worth-it $1.99 per month to subscribe to the Athletic (can you even get a pack of gum for that any more?), here's Joe Buscaglia's latest 7 round Bills mock draft. I gotta say, if this happened, I might cry tears of joy.

    https://theathletic.com/5391796/2024/04/05/buffalo-bills-mock-draft-stefon-diggs-trade/

    TRADE!

    Tennessee Titans trade Nos. 7, 182 to Bills for Nos. 28, 60, 133 and 2025 1st

The pick at No. 7: Bills – Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

I continue to believe that anything, including a move like this one on draft day, is a real possibility for the Bills. Beane has long been an aggressive draft-day trader when he’s excited about a prospect and how he’d fit their system. Now, with a gaping hole for a top target at wide receiver and where the Bills are in their build, this is the type of move Beane could rationalize as one that puts them over the top for the foreseeable future.

The cost of doing business might be high for some, which is understandable. I’m sure it will evoke memories of the Bills’ move up the board to take Sammy Watkins in 2014. But this is an entirely different situation from 2014 — almost comically so. Back then, it was the desperate move of a franchise hoping Watkins would help EJ Manuel become the franchise quarterback while blatantly ignoring several warning signs he was not that player. Now, there’s nothing for their quarterback to prove. The Bills have one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Josh Allen, a still-talented roster around him, and a pretty good idea that they’ll be pushing for the playoffs at the very least in 2024.

By arming him with a young receiver with elite potential on a rookie deal for the next four years, it gives the Bills a lot of flexibility for how they spend through the duration of the receiver’s rookie deal. I’d liken this move more to the one the Atlanta Falcons made in 2011 to fly up the board and select Julio Jones, already with a top quarterback in Matt Ryan in place. They certainly didn’t regret that trade for a second.

The recent trade of Diggs, and acquiring the Vikings’ 2025 2nd from the Texans, could empower Beane to make a stark move up the board like this one, too. With an extremely unsettled quarterback room — either starting journeyman backup Sam Darnold or a rookie — that pick has a good chance of turning into an early second-round selection. If that does happen, the Bills could easily get themselves back at the end of the first round next year, or just view their early second-round pick as their first-round pick replacement for dealing it away to get a potential game-changing receiver. For the right player, Beane will move a first-round pick.

Is Nabers worth this type of move? In a more standard draft year, Nabers would easily be the best receiver prospect by a wide margin and likely one of the first players selected. He is outrageously talented and smooth, with the explosiveness to win however the Bills ask him to. The separation is effortless whether he’s at X, Z or slot and he gets the defender to bite at his breakdown constantly. He can win with physicality or speed and will eat cushion from off-defenders alive. Nabers has excellent, crisp footwork, and his contested catch concentration is simply outstanding. On top of it all, he can be a monster with yards after the catch, either using physicality to drag defenders or his 4.35 speed to blow up a play.

Nabers has all the potential to be a star in the NFL, and with one of the league’s best quarterbacks in Allen, it increases that likelihood by a large margin. Nabers is worth the hype. But would he make everyone forget about the price tag? It certainly looks like he has all the potential to do so. And with the Bills looking like they’ll have cap space to work with in 2025, it could be the catalyst to another push toward the top of the AFC.

    Rest of draft:

    image.thumb.png.d1bc50c147af37213909d6f744c3c5ff.png

Don’t like it no Michigan olinemen in the middle rounds for Kromer to develop

  18. We’d be the modern Jets or Eagles and win the off season every year.

We’d still be a run heavy offense.

We definitely knock off Brady in New England and his AFC East crown at some point let’s remember the toughest AFC East QBs in Brady’s run where Chad Pennington and Mark Sanchez. He literally had a free run for 15 years.

Super Bowl who knows as we’d still be dealing with Patrick and Andy.

    More than likely the same.
