I don’t think Beasley can play anymore. No he is not able to run or cut base on what I observed. Period. He isn’t the same.

    Based on what?

He played two games in Tampa this season.  In week 2 against Green Bay he was targeted 4 times and had 3 receptions.  In week 3 against KC he was targeted once and caught it.  That, to my rudimentary math skills, works out to 4 receptions on 5 targets, or a 80% completion percentage.

Definitely not exactly killing it lately but man, how much have expectations changed? We used to pray for being listen in the hunt at like 6-7. Now we aren’t happy with 10-3 and a number 1 set. You do what you need to do to make the dance. So many ebbs and flows in a season. Enjoy the ride and be happy we have a Chance to play for a SB with a top qb and a good defense. We have plenty of time to complain if they lose in the off-season. 🤗

    Hey Biscuit, appreciate your post.

I though I'd repost my original below, because I think like a game of telephone, what my post was about has morphed a bit in the last 14 pages of responses.  I'm not upset we're 10-3, I'm happy were 10-3, I think it's a hell of an accomplishment that we are 10-3 and the #1 seed with everything this team has had to overcome.  And despite a dozen+ posts to the contrary by different people here, I'm not upset with how the Bills are playing.

My post was about how it has been a rough slog and I always thought that the Bills sitting at 10-3 would make me feel on top of the world, but the road to get there has been so difficult that I haven't enjoyed it as much as I thought I would.  I didn't think that would be a controversial opinion.  Silly me.

    Original post:

"After beating the Jets today the Bills are 10-3 and in the lead in the AFCE and sitting as the #1 seed in the AFC.  If you had taken a poll here at the start of the season and asked if we would take those stats heading into week 15 of the season, I think it would be 80/20 in favor of it.

Recognizing the Bills are sitting in a very good position right now, why does it feel like this has been a really rough season?

Maybe it's the constant parade of injuries?  The bad loses to the Phins, Jets, and Vikings?  Maybe the fact that we haven't seen the Bills' offense find that gear that they ended the season in last season?  Or maybe it's because the Bills have left themselves no room for error going forward if they want to win the division and the #1 seed?

I'm not complaining about where the Bills are sitting at right now, I just imagined 10-3 would feel a whole lot better than it does."

  3. He got folded over Milano's shoulder pads so forcefully his hands touched his toes.  It was nuts.

On a quasi-related note, I work in the medical field and if I saw that hit, and his reaction when he went to the ground, I would not feel comfortable letting him out of my ER without getting a CT scan of his abdomen to look at his liver.  There's more to worry about with that hit than just fractured ribs or a right lung injury.  I'm really surprised they let him back on the field.  They have x-rays at those facilities but not CT scans.  The Tua thing, now this, the NFL is really rolling the dice with these players.   I hate to say it, but It's just a matter of time.

Inigo, you’ll feel a lot better after we punish the Fish in a cold, blistery Saturday night game.

It was nice to watch Tua fall apart last night.  He was 10/28 on pass attempts, not even 40%.  He couldn't hit anything.  Having that game in hand vs the Phins does brighten the outlook a bit.  Now the Bills just need to take care of business on Saturday.

  6. This team can win a Super Bowl without Von if Josh can get hot like he was last year in the playoffs.  Losing Von hurts, there's no putting lipstick on that pig, but the Bills are still as talented as any roster in the NFL.  We have a team that can compete, now they just need to get in playoff mode and hopefully catch a break or two going forward.

  7. This is a fantastic message board and it’s my go to place for all my Bills breaking news. Some of the regular posters here have as good of a perspective on the Bills as many of the media types that do it for a living.

That being said, this place turns into a suicide cult after every loss and there are a fair number of trolls who come here to stir the pot.

I’m not sure how any long term Bills fan can look at the totality of what McDermott has done for this franchise and not be incredibly grateful that he is our coach.

Does he deserve criticism for bad moves? Absolutely.  Should he be immune to accountability?  Absolutely not.  But, anyone on this board saying he’s a bad coach or we should move on from him is either a fool or a troll.

Lmao didn’t we start Josh with a very clearly not 100% ulnar injury like 3 weeks ago, where he was clutching his arm after every toss into the dirt because we had just dropped 6 places into the standings and couldn’t afford to start Case Keenum?

Josh's injury was not one that would be worsened by him playing according to the reports, it was a pain tolerance issue.

Tua's brain on the other hand.....

I didn’t realize how awful, personal, condescending massholes these people were. You never hear this from WNY TV media. It’s going to be hard for the snotty 7 yr olds to be in Josh Allen timeout for 10 yrs.

The majority of their fanbase has grown up, lived their entire lives, with championship teams and they just believe that is the natural order of the universe.  They just can not fathom that the the lowly Bills could be better than their beloved Patriots.   It forces them to call into question their entire world view.

It will be hard for them, they will fight it and try to resist, but after another five seasons of getting destroyed by Josh Allen, they will finally accept the truth... the truth that they suck.

I wish all those wonderful Patriot fans Godspeed in that journey, because as we all know, acceptance is the first step towards healing...

Beane runs such a tight ship that the CIA is jealous.  It's Beane's style to keep things close to the vest.  Who even thought we we're in the Von Miller sweepstakes?

For the most part, the Bills do appear to have genuine concern for their employees, although “some”  have said Josh played concussed during the GB game, and continued to play an additional game/s not fully healed, certainly that is unconfirmed…, in NFL football players play injured on a regular basis, some more so than others, in a pinch during very important games players who should not be on the field do indeed play. We should not pretend otherwise.

    Go Bills!!!

I've read the Josh Green Bay concussion thing a couple times today in different threads and it is honestly the first time I've heard that.  What play did it happen on and was there any discussion about it after the game?   Josh played at a high level that game and took care of GB handily.

  12. It's become a bit of a cliché when McDermott says to come to the Bills to be the best version of yourself.  And when you hear multiple Bills players talk about how tight the players and coaches are in Buffalo, that they're like family, you can be tempted to dismiss it because you hear that from other locker rooms around the league too.  A lot of franchises talk the talk about being a "family" but their actions show something completely different when it comes down to crunch time.

An easy example of a franchise saying one thing and doing the opposite is the recent Tua fiasco in Miami.  McDaniels got up on national TV and said that he had no idea Tua was hurt in the Buffalo game and he would never put a player on the field who was at risk. That's not what he's about.

    He was lying.

Everyone in the Phins locker room knew he was lying.  Every player in the NFL knew he was lying.  The video spoke for itself.  The message was clear, in a pinch, the Phins will risk any player's career for a win.  At the end of the day, the player is expendable if that sacrifice will benefit the coach's career in Miami.  Even the franchise QB.

Now contrast that with how the Bills are handling Tre White and Von Miller.  Tre has been brought back slowly and gently eased back onto the field.  He only played two series last week against the Lions and played about 65% of the snaps this week.  Most franchises wouldn't do it that way.  They would tell their multi-million dollar DB that as soon as he is cleared to play medically they want him back on the field.  Not in Buffalo.

Von Miller is another example of how to do it right.  Von comes out and says that he can play through the injury and he'll be back in a couple of weeks.  The next morning Beane places him on short term IR so he can fully heal.

You can make the argument that Beane and McDermott are just being "big picture smart" letting Tre come along slowly and forcing Von off the field so he can get right for the playoff push, but I think there is more to it than that.  I think they genuinely care about the players in that locker room and their actions show it.  Most importantly, Bills players see that and other players around the league see that.

I think players are beginning to look at Buffalo like they used to look at Seattle as being a player friendly destination and that can only help the team going forward.  That perception could be a factor in landing a free agent wide receiver who is coming off of an ACL injury too.

  13. Most Pats fans are still under the delusion that their franchise is relevant and a destination for free agents.

They have the worst of both worlds now.  In years past, great free agents would come in and tolerate Belichick being a jerk because they were likely to win a ring with Tom there.  Now they still have Bill being a jerk and no chance at a ring.

It will take a few more years of losing for the realization to sink in that they simply are not the center of the NFL universe anymore.

JMHO but I don't want OBJ here on a multi-year deal. Injuries plus he is a bit of diva. If the Bills do sign him, I hope for the rest of this year only.

I would prefer that too but OBJ is going to want as much guaranteed money as he an get and that means a long term deal.  He's already had two ACL injuries and knows that his career can be over in an instant with another one.  He'll want to back the truck up to the bank one more time.

I think Jerry is more likely to write a big check than Beane is.  I'd bet he ends up in Dallas.  I just don't want a surprise KC signing.

Did he notice NE had a pick six, but dropped it? Or that the team rallied around a struggling Josh the past few weeks?

Josh didn’t win this game. This was a TOTAL team win.

He didn't notice the "pick six" that NE dropped.  Neither did I.  He did throw a ball to Diggs into double coverage that should have been picked.  I don't think it would have been a pick six though.  One thing he did notice was defensive ends and LBs getting free rushes at Josh all night and hammering him. He also noticed a long touchdown to Diggs get taken off the board on a blatant hold by a backup TE.  He also noticed a ball bounce off Diggs hands that would have been a 1st down on a 3rd and 11.

Why do you think Josh has struggled the last few games?   He has had bad o-line play, a #2 WR who has disappeared, a TE #1 who is on a milk carton, and slot receivers who have have been hit and miss, and a lot more miss than hit.  When Josh has to do everything sometimes it is going to look ugly.  Sometimes he is going to have to push.  Put any other QB in that situation and there is no way they win all three of those games.

I agree with you and Gunner Bill that the Bills played better around him last night.  The run game was really clicking.  There were some good things that happened last night, more so than in the preceding two games.  Let's hope that continues.  Let's hope the players around Josh can continue to elevate their play to match his.
