So, you mean, it HELPS us then.
In that way yes it does.

This actually hurts us. McCown made our defense look like swiss cheese last year.

Start Peterman so he can be a capable backup in the future, or at the least see if he can improve. We aren't making the playoffs so lose out and get the better draft picks. It's a tank season with the dead cap space. Get playing time to younger players to see if they can have a roster spot next year.
He will never be a capable backup. A capable backup has to come in and not throw away the game. A turnover prone guy like him is totally worthless in this league. He is done. When you have no talent, you need to be precise. He is not. He has neither.

It's not ignorant and I agree. But this isn't a great draft this year with just two really elite talents in Oliver and Bosa. I think you want to get into the three to have a shot at one.

This is a game we may win because of Darnold's tendency to throw really bad picks. Our defense could win this game, even if Peterman plays.
If Allen plays, I really do think we win it.

Makes a ton of sense to reunite with Dan Quinn. They are apparently a bit unhappy with Vic Beasley as well. Great fit for Irvin.

They signed Dontae Johnson to take a look at him. He was terrible and released. I suppose they were giving Gaines the look since he earned it in the off season and was healthy. Pitts dresses because he is a core special teams guy. I agree, Lewis looked pretty good in action and now we will see him playing again.

Why?
how is he interesting?
He had prolific college career, racking up tons of all purpose yards. He's better and younger than Marcus Murphy. Still just 25 years old, there is potential there. He got jerked around in Detroit. Some team like Philly or NE will sign him and they will look like geniuses.

Interesting guy the Patriots just cut. Cole Croston, who is one of those Iowa offensive lineman who can play guard and tackle. They have kept him on their roster for a while. Might be worth a look.

Peterman is bad, obviously he isn't in a great situation, but this is pretty funny stuff. He seems like a nice guy and all, but he deserves all the backlash he is getting.
I feel bad for him for sure, but if he doesn't want this kind of thing to happen, then he needs to play better. It's as simple as that. McDermott should be brought up on charges of abuse and neglect for continuing to throw NP out there when he clearly can't play.

Hard to figure why Detroit took him just ahead of David Johnson. He's a lot smaller and slower than Johnson. Still, I figure he'd be an upgrade over fan favourite Marcus Murphy. And he should come cheap.
Johnson was a guy from a small school and many were very unsure of him that draft year. Abdullah was all Big Ten and pretty much considered the third best prospect in that running back class.
The draft is funny that way. We picked John Miller that year about four picks before Johnson went. And Miller also went a full round before Shaq Mason. Pretty cool ?. Cam Meredith, Tyrell Williams, Adam Humphries and David Andrews all went undrafted in 2015.
Just to add Abdullah is a big time character guy who would be a nice fit here.

A lot of really good linemen come from the middle rounds. There are a large number of high draft pick busts on the o-line.
Rams o-line are are having a great season. They feature 3 second round picks, a 6 and a 7.
The same goes for a lot of the best lines in the NFL.
Vlad was a second round pick and he sucks. John Miller also sucks and was drafted in the third. When it comes to o-linemen, draft status matters less than many other positions.

This is an interesting guy who might be worth a look.

How do you know that? We won’t know that until Big Ben retires. He is in the best situation of all the rookie QBs.
Trappaso had him as his top guy over all of those quarterbacks drafted in the top ten and Jackson and Rudolph went in the third round. He isn't good enough to beat out Josh Dobbs and has been inactive all season ala Christian Hackenberg. Maybe he amounts to something someday, but Trappaso was wrong.

The interior of the OL is clearly in need of upgrades so why not give Teller a shot with the team languishing at 2-7. I didn't like Mason Rudolph and never understood his grade on him.
Agreed. There is absolutely zero reason not to play Teller. Just let him play. Sirles too...if they aren't planning on bringing Mills back, what's the point of playing him?
And I just have a hard time with Trapasso now because that was so egregious I really can't take him seriously anymore.

Lewis looked good to me and I didn't understand why he wasn't playing more. Now we get to see him again. Still not sure why we never went after Bashaud Breeland but it is what it is. I like Wallace too.

I'd take "meh" over "God-awful" any day of the week. But Trapasso was wrong about Mason Rudolph.

I thought he would make a bigger impact in that room. Zay has improved, but other than that there has been lots of regression.

I think Kubiak will take over the Broncos when they fire Vance Joseph. I think Joseph was hired because he was the easiest guy to fire once Kubiak wants to come back.

Not in the FlexSeal line of products, so not interested. Appreciate the offer, though.
That flex seal stuff actually work? I've been eyeing it for awhile.

If they sign these guys, we should sign whichever reciever they cut.
-
I still think their might be something there with 82, but honestly why not sign guys liek Troy Niklas or Ben Koyack...those guys are just sitting at home and better than what we have imo.
Gaines has been bad the last few weeks. I do think that Ryan Lewis is better and I'd like to see him play more.
-
Bring back Bobby April
Also I think Taiwan Jones being out hurts. And Stanford starting at mike took him out of special teams reps. Jones is the big loss imo.
-
I kind of wish we could get this defense or Jim Schwartz's defense paired with Chan Gailey's offense and Greg Roman's run game. Gailey could be the passing game coordinator and Roman the run game. We'd be all set.
-
I think it was clear at the end that Rex had completely lost the team. They played with zero effort and did not believe in his coaching or scheme whatsoever.
This team is still playing hard. They just suck. Vlad, Bodine, Miller are giving it everything they have, but they simply can't do it.
McDermott needs to be careful over these next few games. I haven't seen signs of him losing the team, but he needs to tread lightly imo.
Darnold likely out Sunday

I was at that Thursday game sitting in the end zone and all I remember is Tyrod missing a thousand open recievers and McCown making plays on third down. He made some great plays in critical situations, running and throwing. It was annoying from what I remember. I probably remember it being way worse than it was. My buddy lost a bet and had to wear a Laverneus Coles jersey on a walk of shame through the parking lot.
