  1. I think the entire difference is Bates at LG which forced Dawkins at LT and returned Brown to RT. Singletary hasn’t been so much better although his strength has been on display, the entire difference is the line play. Singletary and Moss weren’t missing holes before, there weren’t any. Pass protection similar. It’s not good it’s just not jailbreaks every play. Josh avoids the first guy like magic 90% of the time. The resurgence of the run game is not Singletary its Bates, Dawkins, Brown at RT and Williams at RG.

  2. Thanks a lot for the shoutout and link, Hap. Been crazy busy and lurking but haven't posted much lately.

Appreciate the comments and I do think there is a middle crowded between yay and nay. The team, however, is the one that has been on the extremes. They have either played well or awful for two months. There has been little in between for them.

I think we stomp the Patsies on Monday. I do think they are good. Fine defense and running game. I just think we can befuddle McCorkle and he can't just dink all night.

I wouldnt bet on it though. ;)

I don’t think I’ve seen it postulated anywhere else that perhaps Allen didn’t suck in college, it was the plays he was being asked to run that sucked (for him at least), fascinating.

Methinks it was a combination of several factors but that could well be a big part of it. He didn’t have good coaching. He wasn’t crazy inaccurate he just never checked down or threw easy completions. He was never coached out of hero ball. He didn’t have a lot of good players around him. He hadn’t played against good defenses before.

So you may well be right on Levi. I wouldn't agree that all corners drafted early are man corners though. Tre White is a zone guy. Guys who go early usually have some ability to do both, rather than Levi who is strictly a zone guy, but they need some cheap labour at corner IMO. Not necessarily in round 1, but within the first two days of the draft.

Tre is a zone guy. But he really excels when he shadows the other team’s #1 WR.

I think it pretty much guarantees they are drafting an outside corner early next April. Paying Tre, Taron, Jordan and Micah you are gonna need some cheap labour somewhere.

They may think Cam Lewis and Dane Jackson can do it. Plus they will have Wildgoose for a year. Who knows with him. Lewis is a player to my eyes.

Sorry I misread your first post.

As far Beane- Like I said, some great, some bad, some average.

    Allen- Home run

Trading up for Edmunds- Not good but not horrible

    Harrison Phillips- Bad

    T Johnson- Very good

Neal- Descent pick for 5th round

Oliver- He's descent but would like a bit more from the 9th pick off the board. Let's call this one TBD

Trading up for Ford- Looking horrible now

Singletary- I'm not high on him myself, I would say below average pick.

    Knox- Looking good now.

Depth was very good in that draft.

2020/2021 still too early to tell.

Except for the fact of hitting 50% on your draft picks for a GM is phenomenal.

They may put White on Hill, but I don't think that's the obvious solution. In my opinion, if they're gonna bracket Hill all game, do it with Levi and a safety. Let Tre White frustrate Kelce the way he did to Gronk.

I think that Levi has upped his game and has been good this year but is NO match for Hill's speed and would be all but worthless against him.

Did you know that Richard Sherman recently signed with Tampa Bay, supposedly at the urging of Brady. Do you think it is possible that Belichick might have told Brady that he was going to release Gilmore?

I am not saying that he did, but I view this as a possibility.

He probably did. Then Brady told Arians we don't need to trade for Gilmore, the Pats are going to release him.

    Then they didn't. ;)

This was amazing, but my biggest takeaway is that we finally know what Allen says to snap the ball. It's captioned in the video.

    White set.

On fourth and one in their own territory, later this year, McDermott will have them at the line as if they will go for it instead of the entire universe knowing he is trying to draw them offside. And Josh will yell “White set!” And draw them offside. Because of this video.

Would it get down as a sack if it was a fumble recovery?

They counted it as a “team” sack. To me, Groot caused the fumble and then he or he and Milano fell on Mills’ as he recovered it. I would have given Groot a sack. He caused the fumble.

Nah. He would have to more physically cause the sack.

He physically caused the sack without hitting him. ;)

I think he is harsh on AJ who had two pressures on limited snaps. Fairer on Groot, thought that was his worst game tbh. Houston handled him without much fuss (again small sample size, limited snaps).

Not sure I am as overjoyed with Williams at right guard. There were two plays where the rush came on his inside shoulder and he tripped over himself trying to adjust and fell over leaving free rushers at Allen.

Other than that and not being sure how Edmunds didn't crack Joe's top 5 I don't have a lot to disagree with this week.

On the third play, Groot jumped up in Mills’ face as he was about to pass which caused him to bring it down and just lose the ball on that weird fumble. He should have been credited with a sack or half sack.
