To be going into this season paying their most expensive receiver $8m is crazy … if this is the plan… they better hit on two big names in the draft …Picking a guy at 28 and the fourth round isn’t good enough in my view
Hmmm…
Did the chiefs pay any WR >$8 million last year?

I’m not debating the number of draftable players, but the Covid rationale doesn’t make any sense. If players stayed extra years since 2020, that wouldn’t decrease the pool available in 2024.
I think a better explanation is that NIL now allows the best players to get paid 6-7 figures to stay in school.

So my take away from this thread is:
we trade up for BTJ
& trade our 2025 1st to get back into the round for ________ (insert favorite choice)
😎😂
Please God,
let us have Nabers AND BTJ?!
🤯Allen A-BOMB offense.
28 & Spencer Brown to LV for 13
13, 128, 2025 2nd, 3rd to LAC/NYG 6/7
60, 2025 1st, 2nd, 5th to SEA for 16

For the most part, I think the top 100 picks are where you form the nucleus of your team.
I don’t like the idea of putting all your eggs (4 top 100 picks) in one basket.
If the guy gets hurt, or doesn’t pan out you have no backup plan.
it’s almost like the Ricky Williams draft.

Top 15 - 1050 Value - #28, 2025 1st, and #2 next year from Diggs trade
If there were any move I'd be willing to make, it would be this one. I think we all know what holes this team will have for the next few years as the age purge is already happening. I want to keep my picks this year, because we could get that Top 4 WR, and still get a starting G/C, and DL/S with our top picks. Next year, we wouldn't have our first, but the value is here this year. We wouldn't miss the 2nd from the Diggs trade. So I view it as getting a top 4 receiver at the cost of our 1st next year. I'm good with that
#12 - 1200
Bills - #1 2024 - 660 + Bills 2025 #1 300 = 960
That math doesn't math at all
I dont know. Theres a chart, and then there are real life trades.
"The Chiefs moved up to 10th overall by sending their first-round pick that year (27th overall) to Buffalo, along with a 2017 third-round choice (No. 91 overall) and KC's 2018 first-round pick."

Whitner was 1.) overdrafted - would’ve been a good use of a second rounder, but at 8th overall, a safety needs to be a difference maker on the level of Ed Reed or Ronnie Lott, and
2.) NOT Haloti Ngata, who was right there and such an obvious pick
Lolz.
I remember that draft well. I was outside cutting the grass, when my son comes outside to tell me the Bills picked Whitner.
My reaction: "Who?" I had never heard of Donte Whitner.

No the Bills traded 10 for 27, a 3rd, and a next years first. Poster either misheard or Trapasso is off on his valuationThanks. I stand corrected. Forgot about the third, which is a big deal. I think more and more teams are considering the top 100 picks as the most valuable picks.
Thats why it irks me that Bills got a compensatory 4th not 3rd, when all observers (not just Bills-centric) were assuming it was going to be a 3rd based on past several years data.

They had Chris Trapasso on WGR yesterday. He said #28 and next years 2nd gets you right around the 15-18 range.
also said #28 and next years 1st gets you right around 10-12 range.
don’t shoot the messenger. Just going by what he said.
Could probably end up with Franklin and Sweat after a few smaller trades to move back up. Could probably have 44, 60, and 77 and trade that 77 along with something later (I don’t know the grades/chart) to move up. Getting 3 picks in the top 60. That would be huge.
if Mitchell is there at 28 I say take him because you don’t know what’s going to happen. But if you told me now Mitchell and xx as it stands, or I could have Sweat, Franklin, and xx. I’d definitely take the Sweat and Franklin deal.
If Odunze slips to 10-12, I wouldn’t mind this trade.
A few years back the Bills switched firsts (10 for 27) and next years first, right? I know there’s a few value charts floating around, but that seemed to be the one Bills were using a few years back.

ESPNs latest 7 round mock draft has 16 Wolverines being selected this braking the previous record of the Joe Burrow LSU team and I admit there is some guys here who’d I love in Buffalo to add especially some of those day 3 guys
1st Round: JJ McCarthy to Denver
2nd Round: WR Roman Wilson, DB Mikey Sanristill, and DT Kris Jenkins
3rd Round: LB Junior Colson and OL Zach Zinter
4th Round: RB Blake Corum
6th Round: DL Braedon McGregor, OLDrake Nugent, OL Trevor Keegan, LB Michael Barrett, WR Cornelius Johnson , LB Jalen Harrell, and Trent Jones OL
7th Round: OL Ladarius Henderson and TE KJ Barner
In terms of quality, I don’t think that prediction beats Bama.
in recent years they have had 4-5 in round 1 and 7 in rounds 1-2.

In the article, Damar tells his little brother there are no beaches in Buffalo. Sounds like he hasn't been here long. Now, if he said there were no NICE beaches - I'd get it!
The nicest beaches in Buffalo are in Fort Erie.
Which are actually pretty nice.
Had a memorable beach party on a private beach just west of For Erie a few years back.

Push these out a week. Having guys visit in spring with 4 inches of snow on the ground isn't a great first impression. The weather here stinks right now. Yuk. Finny because we actually had a great winter.
Dude played college at PSU.
he knows what snow looks likeAlso, he’s a 3T DT, not an edge.

I’m wondering if Pegula could sign him as a backup goalie, and stash him on the Sabres while he rehabs.

As of now, bills have 2 picks in first 3 rounds. I see Beane trying to get back into the third, probably by packaging lower round picks.

Could 17 have restructured under specific premise that Beane help O? WR/draft. I’m still of the impression that top tier O FAs like WR can’t be a target due to BUF has a weather premium. Move up in draft for weather captive WR
It’s my understanding that the standard Bills contract says Bills can change salary into a bonus at will, without players consent.
Of course, I think Bills ptobably do notify players prior to restructure, so player doesn’t find out on twitter.

I don’t know about Coleman. I’m not the “he has to run 4.4 to be good” guy, but Coleman’s speed is pretty questionable for round 1 and while he is smooth, he lacks the lateral quickness to really shake coverage - of course those are just my unqualified opinions.
Coleman is basically KelvinBenjamin. Not fast, not quick. Good ball skills, good hands. But contrary to popular opinion, not a great contested catch guy.

I like the running backs from Penn State. I'd take Allen or Singleton in the mid to late rounds if they're still there.
Neither of those guys are eligible for the draft this year.
An under the radar day 3 guy is slot corner Daquon Hardy. Small guy but fast (4.3) and solid tackler. Reminds me of Nickel Roby.
Also had 3 punt returns for TD last year.

How do? Because the refs allowed Jawaan Taylor to hold Bosa the entire game? Grats
The TD vs the Steelers playoff game was certainly explosives. Kincaid is certainly explosive when he catches and turns it upfield in one fluid motion. I think we have different opinions of what explosive is.
Fortunately we don’t need opinions when we have actual data to address the explosiveness question.
in terms of YAC per reception.

Kincaid is solidly average.

I like the move. He’s a playmaker and has speed. We’re loaded underneath. Beane has been preaching RAC every offseason. Now he has it. Samuel, cook, kincaid, shakir are all explosive playmakers imo. Knox and Diggs aren’t too shabby either.
He’d be a fine signing for KC. I’m sure Veach has something up his sleeve.
He’s just not an X in many peoples opinion, mine included. He’s best in the slot and we already have a young up and coming slot playing on a rookie contract. We have limited resources and I can understand people preferring to invest resources to fill and immediate hole. Samuel is almost a luxury based on his skill set. Maybe those people are wrong and Samuel can fill the roll outside. Brady will just have to get creative. I suspect that we’ll be seeing some Mack Hollins playing more X than many think.
Not sure that I'd place Kincaid or Shakir in the "explosive playmaker" class.
To be clear, I think these guys are both excellent players. In the mid field (10-20 yd) range. But not explosive play guys.

Wait. Is Frazier a HC or DC with the Seahawks? Do we get a 3rd round pick for that?

This is a terrible plan.
Not only has Beane never had a draft where more than 3 guys have “seriously” contributed day one, but to bank on the draft as a “plan” when picking late in rounds and having lots of day 3 picks is just awful when you know it’s a complete crapshoot. We currently have 1 starting safety on the roster. Why? Because every safety that Beane and co. drafted in their tenure here has sucked.
Hmm
Just wondering if you can name all a dem safeties dat Beane drafted who suck.
The way you wrote that there must be a dozen or more, so let’s go….

We could have gotten $23M but we chose not to kick all of it to future years. I guess they figured $16M is enough to do what they want to do in free agency.
Seems like a smart idea to me.
But if something comes up, can the Bills restructure it agin this off season?

They say yes the day after they found the keys to a safe deposit box with a bag full of money in it…,
This is an interesting question. In college football, it’s been known for years that players were getting money under the table, by “bagmen”. Is there any evidence that nfl players get money off the books to dodge the cap?
