  1. Every year someone does. And every year they lose. This year is no different. With losing as many "ST" players as we did this year his role is even more cemented for this season IMO.
  2. The only thing that makes me want to keep that 2025 2nd is that it would make for excellent insurance should we need to make a move at the trade deadline to cover for injuries for a key player. Beane has made moves the last 2 years. Would also be a great asset to keep in case the rookie WR isn't quite ready and we need more help there in season. Having 2 2nd rounders is money in the bank IMO.
  3. On offense Dion has been before and I suspect will be again. Of course Allen. And a dark house for me would be Dawson Knox who is respected by his teammates. I think Bernard gets the "C". Rasul Douglas is a strong favorite IMO. DaQuan or Taylor Rapp are possible on defense as well. For STs I think Ferguson gets it along with Reggie Gilliam. Mack Hollins has been a captain on multiple teams as well IIRC.
  4. That's my guess for 4th WR off the board as well. Can't teach speed and it wouldn't even shock me to see someone slide up a few spots to get him. I've actually got him going as low as the 12-15 range. Agree with Chicago taking the needed Murphy over the luxury pick of Odunze. Had they not brought in Keenan Allen I think they may have taken Rome. Latu for me comes down to what medical staffs have given him the thumbs up. If Atlanta's has that's the best pick they could make IMO.
  5. I said this elsewhere, but feel how you want about the guy but Bill Belichick is extraordinary when discussing the game of football. No not the forced weekly pressers where he has to deal with reporters prodding him, but the actual game. I think he's going to surprise many tonight and be excellent. It's McAfee and more so his crew of assclows that I won't be able to watch. The only person that may annoy me more than them is Kyle Brandt...but it's close.
  6. That would be interesting. The rumor is San Fran is set on at least a 1st (or the equivalent) to move him. With the Chiefs picking 32nd it may take more than just their first to pry him away...plus pay out a substantial contract. I actually have the Jaguars as my favorite to get Aiyuk if he's moved.
  7. I think the injuries play into it. He's also a bit older. I believe he was part of the same High School recruiting class as Trevor Lawrence. He's got talent, for sure.
  8. It really should be. Belichick may be a LOT of things but there is no doubt the man knows football. And when he gets to talk openly about the game he is spectacular. My only worry is I won't be able to tolerate McAfee or his crew for very long. They tend to get a bit grating for my taste. I think it depends on how they view Maye, Daniels or even McCarthy against the QB class next year. Even if the best worst case scenario hits and they have the #1 overall pick next year with the ability to pick the best in the class...if whomever is available in Maye or Daniels are better...you gotta take them IMO.
  9. Thank you, once again for the outstanding content and work put in, Gunner. As has become my draft night norm I'll have this thread open when the Bills get within picking range as a nice guide into what's left, what's needed and who may be targeted. While your work is always solid and well done I feel this year was a smashing success done by you. Kudos!
  10. That was an elite draft weekend. I wish they would have more remote drafts. This and the Vrabel house were epic television. And credit where it's due...this was an amazing troll job by Bill. I agree. I relan the Patriots in the boards mock draft 3.0. Wanted to take WR as it's a need as well and I think at the top of the draft the WR talent is better than the QB talent. But, took the QB. I tried trading back into the end of round 1 for a WR to pair with him as well...which is a rumor going around this morning they may do. But in that spot....you take the QB.
  11. Anything is possible. But if Maye is still there at 5, someone is coming up for him IMO.
  12. Yeah, he's been being talked about a lot late in the process as a guy that is shooting up boards. I think he's gone in the first 15 picks for sure. If Penix or Nix do end up going first round that's kind of the way I think it happens... someone trades back into the final three or four picks of round 1 and nabs them. I'm betting the Patriots scouting department has Harrison higher, but what I've heard is that the marching orders from ownership is QB or trade if they get a franchise altering offer. Agree. OL is going to be the run to watch tonight. I think a lot of teams see the depth of the WR draft and feel they can get a guy in round 2 that would normally go in round 1 most years later. I do think that we see a couple of teams go WR that aren't being talked about enough as well. Denver stands out to me.
  13. Good Morning and happy Draft Day to those that celebrate. Thought it may be fun to have a thread where you can lay out your bold/unpopular thoughts on the draft and what may happen. I ask kindly that we keep this to the players being drafted and the other 31 teams as there are really enough threads about the Bills draft night IMO. Here's some of my bold predictions for tonight/tomorrow. 1. Either Penix or Nix (and possibly BOTH) with be on the board when pick 28 rolls around. And can see one or both of those QBs slipping to the 2nd round. 2. BTJ will NOT be the 4th WR taken tonight. I don't think he's the consensus WR4 on team boards that the mock draft community has parroted. 3. Despite being a popular mock draft opinion, Denver does not go QB in round 1. 4. I expect there to be a crazy amount of trades, but most will be small jumps for OL...not WR like people here fear. 5. Teams will focus more on defense and OL in round 1 pushing a lot of really good WR talent to round 2. How about you...what are some bold predictions for tonight's picks for the rest of the league?
  14. Sorry, but as long as Von Miller is on the team that's just a false narrative.
  15. Sure it is. And much like college, recruiting is done in the NFL with a checkbook. Key is having an owner that isn't afraid to spend money.
  16. He names roughly a third of the league. Thanks, Pete.
  17. I'll send them Von Miller and a 4th for both.
  18. If this was the trade that Beane made tomorrow I wouldn't be super excited. I'm not as big on Thomas as many here seem to be. But that's just personal opinion. However, there is no argument that for a 4th and only one of the 2nds next year the value is there and would make a ton of sense.
  19. Yes, but at least then there are viable options. Could trade him for high picks and start the WR train again. Could pay him, but even then it would take a year for the contract to kick in. Could pick up 5th year option (if first rounder) and use the franchise tag as well for a lower hit. But in any event, you're still getting those 4-5 years on much cheaper salary.
  20. And this is why I feel it's smart to draft the lower cost rookie WR (or 2). WR inflation is real
  21. Funner fact....all pants can be ass-less chaps if you own scissors.
  22. I'm betting this is a formality as the board will almost undoubtedly pile on Thomas here. My real vote would be not to move that high for any of these guys.
  23. Man, that Benjamin fella seems like he could be elite. Big dude. I wonder what he's up to these days My guess is about 325.
  24. In the end I expect this to be much commotion about nothing. I'm certain Beane has called pretty much everyone about what a package to move up would look like. Gathering information. He does this every year to my knowledge. So do most GMs. My best guess is in the long run this is a nothing burger. Lots of people spinning their wheels this week are building some pretty high expectations that will set themselves up for a disappointment come Thursday Night IMO.
  25. I personally think too many in the mock draft community are too high on Thomas. Good player, certainly. But I've said for a bit...but I'm not going to be shocked if he's not WR4 off the board on Thursday. I think he's lower on team draft boards than many would think
