Yes.  Yes, he does.   He really thinks that.

Tim Graham recently said that he asked Gabe Davis whether they worked out with Josh last off-season and Gabe Davis said "yes, the cameras just aren't there any more".  *rummage* *rummage* here:

There's also the stuff on The Quarterback Room podcast with Kyle Allen and Jordan Palmer where they were talking about being impressed with Shakir last off season; they also said Kincaid "is out here now"

Kincaid said something during last season about throwing with Josh in the off-season.

So yeah, there's hints and pieces that they're working together off-season, at least some of them (Graham said in another tweet "I didn't take attendance")

In the end people are gonna believe what they want to believe.

Now, what Mahomes does is different:

Whereas the Bills are going to have all the players show up in Orchard Park on Monday for Phase I OTAs, the KC Chiefs will have a "virtual Phase I OTA".  During that virtual phase I OTA, the receivers will be in Texas with Mahomes, staying in various hotels, throwing and catching on different fields (grass, turf etc).  This is during a phase of OTAs where teams who have in-person OTA are limited to workouts and can't throw and catch for 2 weeks.

I think it's a way of circumventing the NFLPA's rules for permitted team activities during different phases of OTA, but the NFL hasn't said anything so apparently it flies.

Agreed.  I read the same report.   I am going to continue to enjoy the Bills having the best QB they have ever had.   Sucks it coincides with maybe the 2nd best QB in league history being in the same conference.

I’m not sure. I think it’s on the board.

I mean, Shakir ain’t posting videos. Diggs wasn’t posting videos. Kincaid ain’t posting videos. Knox ain’t posting videos. Trent Sherfield and Harty weren’t posting videos working out with Josh.

Do I really think that they are all “afraid” to post workout videos like folks claim Josh is? Not really.

Do I think Josh is flying them all down to Florida to work out and telling them they have to keep it off social media or he’ll be mad? Not really.

Do I think them just not working out is more likely than those two scenarios? Yep.

Davis said last offseason Josh got them altogether but there were no cameras.   He works out with them its just not on instagram.

Guy is the 2nd best QB in the NFL give him a break.

Do you think that’s unique to our fan base?

Do you think that all of the other receivers that would or would not be at all these offsite work-outs (that we have no evidence exist), would also not want to post them on social media?

    Two explanations:

    1. Josh, and EVERY SINGLE OTHER PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE HE WORKS OUT WITH are all actively choosing to hide every single indicator that they are working out together as a group. These Gen Z dudes, some of whom are making relative peanuts, are so afraid of social media that they do not want anyone to know how hard they are working in the off-season.

    2. The workouts don’t exist

Is #1 possible? Sure. Is #2 more likely? YUP.

You really think Josh isnt working out with his wideouts in the offseason?  Not even once?

Well it's Josh's team now and there is NO ONE left that would dare call him out, even if/when he is playing like crap and possibly not as dedicated to his craft as he needs to be. So we'll see.

Interesting enough, Diggs has never actually been WRONG about any of his many complaints over the years.

Zimmer and the Vikes' run-first offense.

    McD's coaching in 13 seconds

Players quitting throughout the 2022 season.

Josh checked out and befuddled in the Cincy game.

Dorsey on the wrong track to start 2023.

Sorry Josh didnt want to hear that his dumb decisions and 3 ints cost us an easy Jets win.

    444046dd-1bb8-4024-99b6-019a16c38eeb_tex

Thats only if you believe continued complaining does anything positive for a team.       It wasn't up to Diggs to point out Allen's shortcomings in the game it's up to Allen and the coaching staff.     It isn't about no one daring to call out Allen.   But there is a time and place for those things, and if people think Allen's coaches dont get on him to correct mistakes in meetings and behind closed doors they are being obtuse.   The time and place is not on the sidelines where everyone can see it happening.

As much as Allen messes up he is allowed quite a bit of rope because he is an absolute stud a majority of the time.    Players make teams better by concentrating on what they can do better, not by complaining about other team member's shortcomings.   That's where Diggs really failed and in doing so came across as a massive hypocrite when his play completely fell off.

I've coached for a long time and the second someone starts to point a finger at a teammate for the teams' failures I ask them if they played a perfect game.  Good teams have players who focus on doing their job despite of what is going on around them.   It takes a ton of maturity and self control, neither of which I think Diggs has tons of.

All this says to me is the bills are going to use their 24 and 25 first round picks to trade up and draft a wide receiver.

They probably figure the Vikings 2025 2nd is going to be very close to where their own 2025 1st Rounder will be anyways.

While I love the optimism and agree about the very last part, I'm not convinced we will sniff a draft pick close enough to land one of those top 4 WR's. But I hope.

The good news is you wont have to wait very long to find out.

You say you can tell me right now what caused the free fall.

In fact, you can't. What you're telling me there is what you think caused the free fall.

Nothing wrong with having an opinion till you start looking at it and saying, "You know, now that I look harder at that opinion, it's obviously a fact." That's where the bad thinking starts.

    You might be right.

    Or not.

Correct.  I am not in the building so I dont know every detail of the situation.  But as an objective person, who likes to form opinions using the least number of assumptions possible, I am putting this one on Diggs.   Fact, he refused to talk to reporters after playoff game losses.  Fact, he made a spectacle of himself on camera during the Bengals' game.  Fact, he never went out of his way to support the team after his brother made distracting tweets during the season.  Fact, you're now hearing he took himself out of games even when healthy.

The 3 elite years were prior to last year, my apologies. I'm exuding frustration that this franchise couldnt win 1 with an elite top 5 WR and a top 2 QB and now we're parting with half of that.

I am frustrated every January when they lose out to Mahomes and the Chiefs.   You werent wrong in saying they probably should have won one.  That said, Diggs was no longer a top 5 player at his position in the NFL, and he made it more than clear he didnt want to be here.   There was no sense keeping up the charade and the distractions.   I am very sure they will walk away from the draft with one of Harrison, Nabers, Odunze or Thomas.  I am also very confident they will have money to do even more at WR in 2025.

I will take who the Bills are today over just about anything they've been since the 1990s.  Try to enjoy them being the best they've been in 30 years.  I am still confident they will win one with Josh and I am glad it wont be with Diggs.

    Totally unfair.

We still don't know what caused that freefall. Was it that with the playbook from an old OC and the playcalling of a new OC they couldn't find a good way to use him? Nobody can say for sure, but that is very likely a large part of the problem, if not most of it.

You can pretend that it was all on Diggs. But there's no reason to think that's right. Could easily have been on others to a large extent. Now we'll never know. Pretending we do know, and putting it all on Diggs, is just sour grapes.

And it's a stone fact that he was drawing the vast bulk of the coverage and making things much easier for the other WRs.

Certain kinds of WRs tend to start going downhill early. Diggs' type, the exceptional route-runners not dependent of top end speed, tend to last longer. Every reason to think he'll still be very very productive for several more years. Unfortunately.

We are going to pay him in the high $20M range to watch him on TV catching passes in Texas. This was a horrendous time to let him go.

But it doesn't seem like we had any better choices, with how relations with him were proceeding.

I can tell you right now what caused the free fall.  Diggs thought he deserved to be on a Super Bowl winning team.   When 13 seconds happened he blamed McDermott and started getting salty.    The second year it didnt happen he blamed Allen, he got a little more salty, decided not to show up for training camp on time.  After this year, he got it in his head he couldnt win a Super Bowl while in Buffalo so he started making noise about a trade.

Maybe when he doesnt win one this year in Houston he will take a look in the mirror.

We're losing our #1 WR from the last 4 years, and he was ELITE for the past 3. We should have won one with him here and his numbers.

You dont make real life decisions on what was or what isnt.   You make real life decisions on what is.   You're also using the word "elite" very loosely when referring to last year.      There were 4 Elite players at wideout last season, Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, CeeDee Lamb, and Amon Ra St Brown.   Those guys put up huge numbers and were game changers.   Not one of them played with a QB near as good as Josh Allen.

We will find a new #1 wideout and hopefully he will be a more well adjusted person.

Honestly, i could see Diggs getting all pissy when finding out were drafting a WR in the first round, knowing that he will have to split the limelight with someone else.

    Diva and drama queen?.....absolutely

    Aging and self-centered?........yep

    Missed?.........we won't miss a beat

    Bravo Beane.........bravo.

This is exactly where I am on it.   By the end of last season I was getting sick of watching the guy play.   He was horrendous vs Kansas City in the playoffs.   The Bills will be fine, both this season and for seasons to come.  Its amazing how little slack Beane gets given the amount of winning the Bills have done over the last 6-7 years.

Diggs was instrumental in our success over the last few years, but this move had to happen and i'm good with it. Too many short-sighted fans. He's definitely on the downside of his career, and is a massive distraction. By week 6 next year he will be screaming about his targets. 2024 might not have the success that we all want, but we are setup nicely to have a massive 2025.

Diggs has made it abundantly clear in both Minnesota and now here who he really is.   Talented player, but he is incredibly emotionally immature.  He likes to sell his "passion" on the field as leadership, but in reality, it's just more "look at me" behavior.   He should have been out of here after the Bengals' playoff game.  First guy to point the finger at someone else, last guy to point a finger at himself in any tangible way.      Guy got paid $77 million dollars by the Bills to play with an elite Quarterback and still whined about it.   Dont let the door hit you on the way out.

  13. The same guys crying about his tweets are crying about the trade?    The last 9 games of last season the guy averaged 4 for 48 with 0 touchdowns.   The Bills went 6-3.   The Bills have Josh Allen, they will be just fine.

Glad to see this look at me malcontent gone.    Maybe he shows out in Houston before he gets bored there too.  I couldnt care less.

Why would anyone be in custody?  It was a traffic accident.  There’s pictures of the drivers walking away on foot.  The cars have damage, but they aren’t mangled or anything.  Sounds like they were being stupid, but nobody’s getting arrested over speeding on the Dallas expressway unless they were driving impaired.

You don't get arrested or issued a summons for street racing on a public highway?  If that's the case why even look for Rice?
