Dude's 64, isn't that a concern for anyone? Is there an older coach in the NHL?
I don't follow hockey, but that's pretty old it seems. Also, 8 seasons with the Stars and Devils, only three playoff appearances, losing in the first round once, in the second round the other two times.
More asking than commenting, I know little about hockey, but that alone seems to contradict many of the supportive statements herein.
Hey Whipper Snappee! Since when did 64 become old? 😂

It’s just a hunch but I think McCarthy is this year’s guy who’ll be sitting (head in hands) in the green room all night long on Thursday.

Teams rehiring old coaches happens in the NHL. Claude Julien and Paul Maurice are two examples. Lindy might have the record for longest gap: 11 years.
That’s definitely true, but so is my observation. 😉

All I can say is that I’m REALLY glad we don’t have to worry about drafting a quarterback for a while. Those days were brutal!

Hiring Lindy might have had a nostalgia component but he's no "stunt." He had success in New Jersey and Dallas. He was on the staff that won Canada the gold medal at Sochi. He's ranks 5th in all time coaching wins. He's going to drastically change the locker room culture.
Didn’t the Sabres hire Scotty Bowman a few decades ago? Feels an awful lot like that to me.

This is not like looking for a franchise quarterback. Trade back and stockpile picks. You never know which of these WRs is going to amount to much of anything. Go for quantity!

They’re in business to make money. Lots of it.
Just like every other business that’s ever been in operation….ever.

The voting spread on this poll shows just how difficult it is to predict anything this year. For me, I keep thinking that Beane is still steaming from not having a 3rd Round pick. I can see him working the phones to get it back. And that means trading down, not up.

I placed my bid this afternoon. Fingers crossed.
I hope you had it notarized. If you don’t have a Notary stamp on it…..it’ll be rejected. Just saying.

It worked with Lou Saban….sort of.

I'd rather not be dragged into a moral discussion about hoarding obscene wealth.
I won't bother coming up with a number. It's like Potter Stewart said, "I know it when I see it."
Sounds good. You remain at your post! We need you on that wall. 😉

i usually throw out a "go bills" if i'm away and i see someone sporting gear, and i've had people start conversations as well. this last vacation i just couldn't do it. we took the kids on a disney cruise, and there were a ton of bills fans on it, (i assume we all have the same school breaks). i just wasn't in the mood this time to get into the small talk about it. i don't know if it's age, or maybe i just needed the peace, but for the first time in a long time, i kept my bills fandom to myself.
That Diggs trade really has you that bummed? 😉

Without getting on a soapbox: Good people would never earn Bezos type wealth.
Dying to find out where the sweet spot is where you contend you cross over the ‘not good person’ line. I wanna make sure I turn back before that point.

Me too. If memory serves he attended Cal Poly for college. Strike that….he went on to coach at Cal Poly.

Not to mention why should anyone tell other people what to support or not support?
I wouldn’t go that far. Hearing from other people is rarely a bad thing. But that’s way different from be ordered to actually DO something.

I don't mean that. I mean having people hate you if the team is bad.
I rest my case
Everyone hates everyone when the team is bad. 😂

Honestly. Everyone should boycott the PSLs. Need to send a message. Die hard fans shouldn't have to take out a mortgage for season tickets. That's insane.
I mentioned this the other day. You are aware that fans aren’t in a union, right? This isn’t collective bargaining! While I appreciate your frustration, there’s no way to organize such a boycott.

Why on earth would anyone want to own a team in this town? Every time your team loses, people blame you and demand you sell the team.
What? The team has had a grand total of TWO owners in 65 years and the first Owner is dead! It’s hardly been a revolving door.

Heated seats? We used to sit in the cold and the wet at the Rockpile while praying our car would still be where we left it before the game! Ahhhh, the memories.
And….sometimes you found out that your totally unheated seat was directly behind a big steel post.

Wait! What? We have to play the Chiefs at Home again right after hosting them in January? Come on NFL! Aren’t we ever gonna play them at Arrowhead? This is ridiculous!

Where’s the list of guys that would cause this board to light up with page after page of “Get ‘er Done Beane!” ?

the entire stadium should have heated seats....then maybe folks would actually use them......have i mentioned i can't stand up for 3 straight hours anymore
Are the actual seats heated? Or is this radiant heat being ‘cast’ down on them? If it’s the latter then it makes no difference if you’re standing. If it’s the former then I’ll bet money they’ll all be broken in three years…tops.
If you thought Denver and Houston's new alternate uniforms were bad...
