Bills' Josh Allen gives props to Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes: 'You gotta find ways to be like them'
I've heard this before from Beane and McDermott (and probably others) and now from Allen. We need to be like KC. We need to build the team to beat KC...
WRONG
Because I guarantee you that KC isnt trying to be like anyone else. They're simply trying to be the best team in the NFL regardless of what anyone else is doing.
THAT is what McBeane and Co. should be doing. Stop peeking over the fence and trying to copy another team and just go build the best team in the entire NFL. Go be that team that everyone wants to copy. Because by the time you see what they are doing, make the moves to copy them, and bring it to fruition... they are already 2 more steps ahead that you can't copy.
This is such a 2nd place mentality it makes me sick.
As long as Andy Reid and Mahomes are together and we still have McDermott we will be far behind.

Colin Cowherd sometimes says some smart things.
The final 4 teams were all offensively coached teams.
If you want to win a superbowl get an offensive mind at the helm

Ill stay on my couch and save him a spot right next to me because that guy has been a waste of a roster spot his entire career.

Yeah its no fun having to deal with another GOAT.
But if you told me 6 years ago wed have a QB with talent to rival the top QBs in the league for a potential longtime...id kiss you in the mouth.

Every QB is going to be prone to a boneheaded error. The issue is Josh seems more boom or bust than the rest. He’s in the top five QBs in the league because of his physical attributes but his mentality is dragging him back. The O Line isn’t helping, no, but he does make more ‘unforced’ errors than his peers at the top.Which I believe would be very much corrected with a good offensive line.
As you saw Mahomes had one of his most efficient years with the improvement on the offensive line.

Eagles player admitted to holding. If that was a Bills receiver and it wasn't called, this place would have gone nuts. If it was still ruined for you then you probably should stop watching
I have no idea why he admitted to even holding on that garbage call.
It was a terrible call to make in a playoff/SB game.
We all know NFL does its best to manipulate results.

OL and WR.
If this isnt addressed, we are going to lose again in the playoffs the same way we did to the Bengals and then heads need to roll.
-
I think we are 3 really good offensive lineman and one great slot WR away from really contending next season.

45 million? Lol...
The next coach wont do a better job than Daboll and DJ still needs a few years with Daboll to get his game right. -
I think nobody would have an issue with Singletary if we didnt have one of the worst offensive lines in football the last 4 years.
He has an elusiveness to him that freezes defenders, hes very shifty and much stronger than people give him credit for. He has moved piles a ton during his career.
Obviously his lack of homerun speed is his biggest issue from becoming a great RB.

If anyone outside if Dawkins in starting next year because they are the best option we have....we failed.
-
I mean....McDermott is gone next year if he produces another failure. So he might as well ride and die with the guys he wants.
-
I honestly think its going to be really close where we stand right now.
If we do not get massive upgrades on the offensive side(Offensive line/Play calling) we are going to be struggling more than we did this year.

I think you have this wrong. I was a mod on BBMB, and the Bills wouldn't give us authority to deal with the bad actors. As a result, there were days when it was pretty chaotic, and there was a lot of misbehavior. People said a lot of nasty stuff to each other.
Moderating isn't easy, and the moderation here isn't perfect, but the mods here have authority and exercise it in ways that keep the place civil and keep the conversations going and on point. You can tell the moderation here is good because (1) there's active discussion and (2) people aren't leaving.
Thats what actually made it better my dear friend.

I liked BBMB. I think the mods were less emotional over there.
As long as you followed the rules they wouldnt bust your chops.
Here....another story.

I meannnn...If we could get like Dhop here. Id do it in a second.

Hmmmm..I think he did get a little quicker as the season went on.
He looked SUPER SLOW those first 2-3 games, but I saw a little more burst to end the year.
I think hell get back to his form or at least close to it.

Micah was a massive loss for sure.
All I saw were the safeties getting cooked all year.

We all had high expectations for the Bills this year, and now there’s all the predictable finger pointing, including the ‘fire McDermott’ camp.
For perspective, look at the pre-McDermott teams that for years won 7 to 9 games annually and never sniffed the playoffs.
In 6 seasons, the Bills have made the playoffs 5 times, including one season with journeyman QB Tyrod Taylor behind center.
So, you want McD gone. For further perspective, examine future HOF coach Andy Reid’s history. As a head coach in Philly and KC, how many times did he miss the playoffs or lose in early rounds before getting to and winning a conference championship?
The Bills somehow won 14 of 18 this season despite of a mountain of adversity. Shouldn’t McDermott get some credit for that? A few short years ago some of us would have given our eye teeth to enjoy a season with that many victories.
So, you want to throw the baby out with the bath water? Who would you armchair GMs fill the coaching staff with? You’re ready to start over…again? The culture created by Beane and McDermott has produced an attractive destination for free agents. A good draft, impact signings, and a healthier 2023 might be all that’s needed to get to the promised land.
Silver lining: the Bills not winning the Super Bowl saved us from a lifetime of NFL Films highlights with the radio broadcast voiceover of Chris Brown screeching “Bills win” 3 octaves higher than a normal speaking voice. 😏I appreciate that he is a good guy and a team morale guy.....but thats all he is.
Everyone is getting it right. Offensive mind is the only way to go.
-
Hes at the top of the list for me.
If we can get him here id love it. Give him control of the team...idc. Lets get an offensive mind on this team.
-
Wonder if we have any attraction for a guy like Sean Payton
-
Get an offensive centered staff in here.
Forget about resigning any defensive players.
Do whatever it takes to improve the offensive line. Bring in a big time WR.
Id rather Josh be protected and have serious weapons and go into a shootout every week than watch this waste of time system thats only good enough for handling bad teams.

That OC will take a head coaching position in a year after having "success" with Allen.
The HC needs to be the offensive mind as to continue to have a consistent offense throughout Josh Allens career.
