  1. Word is the Devils and Sabres have talked about Kane, as Kane is a perfect fit for the up tempo game the Devils like to play.

Take it for what it's worth.

And I'm shocked how quickly Shero has been able to add quality young NHL veterans to his roster (Hall, Palmieri, Johansson, Vatanen, for example), without having to give up the farm on a terrible team.

My question to you guys is.............

What player(s) are the Sabres discussing in return????? Cause I really have no idea what the Sabres would want. I know the Devils interest in Kane is genuine, but I haven't a clue as to what the Sabres would want.

My guess would be Severson, McLeod and a pick.

The Sabres would want a quality young defenseman in return and Severson would satisfy that on the Buffalo end. And with the acquisition of Vatanen, it might open up Severson to being dealt, but the Devils still might be very reluctant trade away a quality young Dman line Severson.

And McLeod is the Devils too prospect as we speak.

That's probably the parameters of any deal between NJ and Buffalo.

Again, what do you guys think?

  2. Last thing I'm worried about right now is the playoffs.

You folks realize that the Bills are most likely going to have to beat the Patriots at least once cause they don't hold any tiebreakers over the Ravens, who have a good shot to be 9-7.

And we all know how easy it is for the Bills to beat Brady as that 3-26 record against him will attest.

I'm just praying that the VERY, VERY UNLIKELY happens and the Pats lay an egg in Orchad Park this week. Will never happen though.

  3. I say do it the right way and bring in Eli and draft a first round QB. Let that first round QB sit for two years.

And by all heck, get Eli an OL here. The Bills will have the draft capital and salary cap space to do so.

Might be too much to ask as I really don't know if Eli has anything left in the tank and if he does he is certainly a better QB than Taylor.

Also, I don't know if any 2018 QB's drafted can start right away.

How far fetched is this idea?????? Or is it even possible?

Yeah. Definitely looks like a great trade for NJ as of now. I'm a bit jealous as a Sabres fan. I think Vatanen would have been a nice fit with Housley.

They've made a few nice trades recently.

Ive been quite impressed with what Ray Shero has done with that team in a pretty short amount of time.

Lou is a legend, but it was definitely time for a change in NJ. Looks like they may have got the right guy...

As a Devils fan I will take Hall-Vatanen over Larsson and Henrique any day of the week, as most NHL fans would.

Sadly, go. We need the assets and he's not going to resign here.

I know the Devils like Kane Shero can pull off these kinds of moves............

so maybe the Devils and Sabres can do some business in the future.

If the Devils include McLeod in a package, it might entice the Sabres, as McLeod is ready to make the jump. That is part of the reason the Devils dealt Henrique.

    We shall see.

Nice to see Tre White ballin and getting that call last night.

With Gaines in the lineup alongside him this team is 5-2.

And the biggest surprise of 2017 is how important Gaines has turned out to be.

He gets hurt a lot, but man he makes a huge difference for this team when he is healthy.

Re-signing Gaines to a manageable contract is priority number one early in the off-season.

....so how many clubs do and what EXACTLY is the definition of a FRANCHISE QB in your view?.....term is loosely tossed around with never a definitive answer.....a/k/a  buzz word...........

To me there are 5 legitimate franchise QB types in the upcoming draft. Jackson is one of them that I personally don't like.

And there are about 5-10 other QB's in this draft that can develop with the right coaching.

Depending on who the Bills like, they might not have to trade any picks to get their QB.

This team has many eerie similarities to Jauron's 2008 Bills team.....

Both teams started 5-2 and were 5-5 before winning in a game in KC to snap a losing streak.

Both teams had a QB that checks down and has misleading numbers that make outsiders believe he's a quality starter.

Both teams had classic 'bend but don't break' defenses that would rely on TO's and holding teams to FG's to limit points.

Both teams had horrendous offensive coordinators.

At least with McD he has a chance to change all this but early returns aren't promising that's for sure.

I will give McD the benefit of the doubt in year one........... with Jauron 2008 was year 3 and they were supposed to be good, but obviously fell flat on their faces.

The Bills go into 2018 with lots of draft picks and lots of cap space.

If the 2018 off-season doesn't lay the foundation for a consistent future SB contender in Buffalo, then McBeane will turn into another 3 year project and we all will hate ANOTHER regime change.

I am one of the fans that is giving McBeane a pass for on-the-field results in 2017. And they might have hit on a good first draft here.

Again, it's all about the 2018 off-season and the results should be judged off that performance.
