  1. If we come up short again....why not?

I like McD, but we have certainly underachieved up until now.  If we have another divisional round exit or worse, I think most would agree we can't waste more of JA's prime.

I would be thrilled if we hired Belichick if that was the case.  He's a terrible GM - but the best coach of all time.  Who says no to that?

I'm pulling for McD to come through, but if we underachieve again, this would have to be on the table (imo).

Obviously what we do as fans don’t affect the games yet we still pray for our teams to win. Still cross our fingers before field goals etc. So yeah maybe not continually underestimating a team that keeps beating our team when it counts might help in some cosmic karma kind of way. But ok to each his own.

Well, I actually do believe in the cosmic aspect of things. But not as far as me influencing anything by trolling opposing fans here.

Well you keep underestimating them every offseason and they end up killing our season. So maybe change that and a different outcome might occur. Just saying.

    Huh?

What are you even talking about? If Success the message board poster changes his outlook, the Bills will get past KC and win a SB?

    Sounds easy.

I respect KC.  You have veered into worship. To each his own.

Not to get sidetracked but you said similar things last offseason. You said KC would take a step back and Cincy would be our competition. My response will be the same as last offseason: KC is the defending champs until proven otherwise. They will be the Bills (and all AFC contenders) biggest challenge.

Burrow got hurt, KC happened to get hot at the right time.

I'm sure you'll get some nice emojis from the KC fans here, though.

  5. Floyd basically disappeared at the end of the season.  Diggs was playing more like a #3 option.  Tre was one of our best players - but has hardly been on the field the last few years.

Hyde & Poyer  - love 'em both - were both noticeably slower.  We may actually be better in the secondary now.

Morse will be missed.  But not if McGovern can step up.

So, my answer would be "no."

Don't be scared because the Sammy Watkins trade didn't work out.
Look at the Julio Jones trade, which DID work out.

Send a package of picks (including this year's and next year's 1st, plus a future 2nd and 4th, or whatever the value chart dictates) to Chicago for the 9th pick. Draft Rome Odunze. Allen has a blue chip, franchise WR on a cost controlled deal for five years. A top playmaker who can grow with Allen and be the driving force in this passing game for years to come.

100% agree w/ this. I'm surprised the OP poll is split close to 50/50.  I thought everyone would be on board w/ a trade up.

We're talking about getting a player who can be Allen's go-to for a decade, and give opposing DC's nightmares.  They could be one of the legendary combo's of NFL history when all is said & done.

I wouldn't compromise on that possibility.

Saying we can win it in a year with roster turnovers of major players on the team is what children do when they can’t comprehend the reality of a situation. When the adults explain what the situation really is the children would start calling people names because they just don’t like it.

We mainly lost older guys who couldn't stay healthy.

We almost beat KC w/ Diggs not really showing up and dropping a pass that could have won that game.  I feel confident that whoever we get in the 1st round can at least match the 40 yards per game production we were seeing in the last half of the season.

We might be better w/ younger, faster guys at safety.  Losing Morse is more of a big deal, but if McGovern can excel there, it's a wash.

I'm not seeing any kind of devastating roster turnover.  We were old, and got younger, and faster.  And we'll get a bunch of guys back who weren't even playing at the end, or were playing hurt.

  8. The Texans are being overrated.

I said it yesterday - people should check their schedule last season.  They didn't beat many good teams.  They'll have a 1st place schedule this year, and won't catch teams by surprise like they did in '23.

Not that they won't be in contention, but they haven't proven much to me yet.

Thanks for posting this! Since the Diggs’ trade I’ve pondering Beane’s rationale and of course a trade up in the draft is almost a guarantee. Under that assumption Came up with some possibilities, 3 as a matter of fact.

When Beane gave up his 1st rd pick for Diggs it almost killed him. He was itching so bad during that draft. I remember him stopping just short of saying that he would never give up a 1st rder again unless it was in an extreme circumstance. Well, here we are! What I believe what Beane might be thinking is he can trade next year’s 1st rd pick this year because he has 2 2nd rd picks next year that he can pair up and get back into the 1st rd again. Just food for thought.

Scenario #1. Using the above chart Beane goes COMPLETELY all in and makes a trade with the Bears at #9. The Bears only have 4 picks in the entire draft so I could see them moving back to acquire more picks. This serves twofold, it gets them one of the top 3 WRs in the draft and it also leapfrogs the Jets at #10 who very well could be taking one of the top WRs themselves. My guess would be it’s for Rome Odunze.

Scenario #2. Once again Beane makes another leapfrog move and trades up with the Saints at #14 just before the Colts at #15. In this scenario it’s for LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr. Based on LSU WRs in the past (Chase & Jefferson) being so pro ready I believe that this is our best option for Diggs’ replacement. Git ‘er done Beanie!

Scenario #3. The Bills just stand pat at #28 and draft Georgia WR Ladd McConkey. Under this scenario I would think that the Bills would also make a trade for a veteran like Brandon Aiyuk. I won’t venture what the compensation would be but the Bills but I would imagine that Buffalo will have enough resources left to get a trade like this done.

Personally I like Scenario #2 the best and that’s what I’m hoping for.

Great breakdown of the options.  My preference would be the 1st - with no #1 on this team, I'd really love to get one of the top 3 guys.

Would you (or anyone) think there is a chance we might trade w/ the Giants & try to get Nabers?

  10. Diggs arriving helped make Allen a better QB.  Diggs leaving will likely make him an even better QB.

I think the past couple of years, Allen has adjusted his own game to try to accommodate Diggs and keep him "happy."  It wouldn't surprise me if his turnovers went down now - instead of trying to force things to Diggs, he might get back to just playing loose & having fun.

Floyd had 10.5 sacks, and Diggs and Davis combined for 150 catches, 2000 yards, and 15 TDs.  If they weren’t big contributors, who was?

I understand perfectly well that it doesn’t close a window.  I said last offseason that they should trade him, but to pretend that he doesn’t make a big difference is divorced from reality.

Well, you laughed at the idea that the Bills could make the SB in '24.  Wanna go on record?  Are you saying there is no way they'll be in contention?

    Nate Geary's take.  Agree/disagree?

    Hard disagree.

People should check the Texans last-place schedule from last year.  Very few impressive wins, imo.  Stroud was a revelation - and could be great this year.  Or, opposing DC's could catch up a bit, and he could have a sophomore slump.

And if they are better, it's great strategy by the Bills.  Does anyone think Diggs is gonna be happy w/ his targets on that team? Is he even their best receiver?
