Howard seems like a nice guy, wish him well. Obviously he is a true radio professional and understands how an on air program should move technically. Probably could have done radio of any genre. He certainly leaned hard into the old man, nerd guy. It was overkill at times and never once funny. My biggest issue with him is he simply knew nothing about sports. Maybe his schedule of having to get up early for the show made it hard for him to stay awake to watch? Or maybe he just didn’t think he had to try because he was around for so long. Him picking the Bills was such a big thing to those guys. They could have had the janitor pick the games and it’d be most likely more sensible.

If you are a true die hard sports fan, it’s tough to find sports talk shows where you feel Impressed with their opinions. Other than the guys on gambling shows or a few film breakdown/old GM types…you usually aren’t hearing anything that moves the needle. But when it’s painfully clear that a guy knows close to zero, it’s tough. Jeremy is horrible. He tries to be like Schopp and succeeds by being wrong constantly. Coming up with ludicrous or factually incorrect statements to then use as reasoning for opinions is aggravating. Sal is certainly a homer, nobody can fight against that. But you can hear it in his voice because of how often he is frustrated by these WGR takes. Sal knows what he’s talking about but I think he gets handcuffed by not wanting to step on toes. I have heard him get very upset with Schopp before because these guys on WGR, truly are clueless about most things. It’s as if, Schopp, Jeremy and the most used young guy (they all

sound the same) all get together and just decide the narratives to push.

Never punting and going for 2 constantly, thinking defense doesn’t matter, wanting to pass every down, only wanting offensive HC etc. It’s like they take a tiny idea that has validity in certain situations and just run it to intolerable levels. And nobody can say anything to change their minds. A punt is a turnover…..That’s something that you’d hear an 8 year old say. These guys really talk that way.

Finally.  Thank you.  Howard had longevity. That's his biggest accomplishment and it's impressive by radio standards. People are acting like it was the end of Mike and the Maddog or something.

Sirius is the one subscription I never complain about paying.  If they raise the rates I'll still gladly pay. I get more insight on the Bills in a 12 minute segment of Movin The Chains than I would on a week's worth of GR.

This week I watched the second half of the Comeback game synched with the radio call by Van. Awesome.

Charlie Jones called the television broadcast and he was my favorite announcer from back in the day. Gonna watch it again with his call.

Charlie was a HOF talent. Always felt like a big game with him on the call.

First ya need the ability to pause one or both feeds.  For years I have  used a DVR to pause the video feed waiting for the SiriusXM OTA feed to synch up usually pause when kicker approaches the ball.  I am good at it and get lip synch perfectly.  If using a streamed audio the delay is much longer but be patient.   If both audio and video are streamed and don’t have pause on the stream never gonna make it work.   The onky time I have had major issues was the Saturday game on NFL network I would get synced and than notice that the radio was ahead because NFL net likes to show all sort of Camera angles etc finally gave up .   I really wish you could subscribe to a service that would synch the sources for ya.   Now that NFLST is moving to YouTube TV will have to experiment with how to get this working with DTV a and Sirius OTA radio pause was like 10:seconds.

I'm a huge fan of Greg Papa.  This method is exactly how I watch the 49'ers.

I don't have that but here's the Pats announcers calling the loss against the Raiders.

Zolak is such a tool. When they were dominating he was the most arrogant guy I've ever heard, which is funny when you consider how bad he was as a QB. Now he just sounds sad and angry, which is great

I have no love for Zolak but this a pretty honest call.

Better to have it and take it off, than need it and not have it. Plus, you got a lot of time outside to tailgate, or just on the walk in.

    Layer like crazy.

Great advice.  Bring everything you got and layer up. You can always remove one. It's better to have it than wishing you didn't leave it in the car.

  6. Injuries killed us

7-7 and missed the playoffs by a game. First three WR's drafted, Chase, Williams, and Jeudy. Chase and Williams were hurt most of the season and Jeudy no-showed until last week. Too much draft capital on those three and a minimal return.

Lost a lot of close games while trying to cobble together the weekly roster. Actually did well to get to .500 considering. Rhomdre Stevenson wound up my MVP. He's been consistent all season.  Oh well.  Next year.

Tomorrow will be rough for me. My 94 year old mom has been in and out of hospitals and nursing homes since Sept 3 when she took a bad fall, breaking her pelvis in two places. She has fallen multiple times since then. We host Thanksgiving and are expecting 17 for tomorrow (down from 25 last year). It should be 18, but even with skilled nursing she is falling if she tries to get out of the wheelchair. There are four steps up to our house, and she can’t do that. Even with a wheelchair she has been known to fall in the bathroom. Getting that old sucks.

So, tomorrow is not only Thanksgiving, but also my mom’s 95th birthday. We will take turns visiting her in the nursing home, but it will be the first time she has not been able to join us for the holidays. She said she was “not invited” after talking to one of my sisters. I explained it was out of concern for her safety, but it’s still crushing both of our hearts. I’d have paid almost anything to have some skilled care to make this possible, but we were not able to line anything up on a holiday with limited notice since her latest fall.

I'm sorry brother.  I'm kind of in the same spot. Remember to care of yourself. You can't make a difference to anyone if you don't.
