I wonder how many WRs aren't signed to second contracts because they are traded or because signing them to a second contract is cost prohibitive.
I agree. The truly elite WR’s are retained. Many are good/ very good but the cost inflation at the WR position makes it more attractive to draft another one. Those cost controlled years are valuable.

This! You don't use a lot of capital to trade up for a WR
This seals it. Clearly the Bills should move up to draft a C.

Lots of questions in my head
1. Is this because Pegula is low on cash and could this get worse, chance of selling team outright sooner than later? Maybe he needs cash for stadium overruns
2. Maybe he wants cash to help with inheritance if his kids were going to take over?
3. The Bills are underspending the cap this year in terms of cash which in my mind is good but .......is it related to running low on cash in the business?
Most likely it’s liquid cash to cover stadium overruns.

I think it's pretty clear why the NFL changed the rules.
If local community owns the team, there's no way to leverage the team against the city for cushy tax breaks, stadium funding, or the threat of relocating.
Better to have a billionaire owner or ownership group who can say "we'll move to San Antonio if you don't give us $2 billion for a new stadium!" Fans just want the team to stay put, so there's a huge limit placed on future growth.
If Green Bay's population & surrounding areas never grow, the team is still staying put. The NFL can't pressure them into a new stadium, and fans are content having a team to root for.
Fwiw the rule against this type of ownership was established a long time ago, when there probably weren’t any billionaire NFL owners etc . It didn’t happen in say , 1985.

This ^^^ T Pegs has said all along that he doesn’t want to spend his fortune on a stadium. It may make some sense in NYC or Dallas but not in Buffalo.

Right? But you know the response “there’s no evidence of any plan”…So predictable. Hilarious to see anyone taking about this “ case “ in any kind of serious terms. It’s so flimsy that 2 previous DA’s declined to pursue it. Not to mention the statute of limitations expiring. When you run on a platform of “I will find something to prosecute Trump for “ though.. what a joke. NYS is simply an embarrassment to the justice system. How about the ridiculous gag order , tainted jury pool etc ? The entire thing reeks.

I don't think anyone has proof if PSL's are selling poorly.
True. Could be selling about as projected. Cost overruns may be outpacing what the market can realistically cover.

He’s bored. The proceedings are a completely political sham prosecution with a pet judge and jury. Their predetermined guilty verdict will be overturned on appeal. Alan Dershowitz said it is the weakest case he’s seen in his 60 years of experience. NYS is a complete embarrassment as usual.

They have billions of assets that they would be used to get any loan they want.
It just doesn't make sense to lose 25% of the profit every year, and even worse, to lose 25% of the value of the franchise. Unless the Pegula's know the NFL has reached it's peak and profits, along with franchise values will decrease, it doesn't make sense to do it now, unless they want straight cash for something.
I know that Biden wants to absolutely destroy estate taxes and I wonder how the estate works with PSE, Bills, Sabres, etc. I just pray that it's set up in a way that estate taxes would have no impact on anything when they pass.
It’s an NFL team. He wants to keep it for obvious reasons. It makes so much money he won’t mind having a minority owner with a 25% share.

Fwiw it’s being reported by at least one major news outlet that OJ had left specific instructions on what to do with his remains and his brain will not be donated for CTE research.

True but I’ll add he was acquitted because the jury feared massive riots and destruction if they found him guilty.
Perhaps , but at least one juror has stated that the jury thought he was guilty but they went with the not guilty verdict to punish the LAPD for the Rodney King beating.

This take I agree with, in a later post I clarified I was strictly referring to the posts where their only comment was either celebrating or mourning the guy. Many people had posts acknowledging their fond memories of OJ the football player while also mentioning it is tough celebrating him as a human being which is more than fair. But when finding out the news that OJ passed away and your first and only comment is Oh wow he ran for 2000 yards in a season it's kind of a joke IMO
While that take is more than fair, there is also nothing wrong with the take of commenting only on his football accomplishments. This is after all a Bills football fan forum, and OJ was possibly the greatest Bill ever. This is not a forum on society or the failings of humans who happen to play football. To these things, having no comment at the time of OJ’s death actually says quite a lot.

You're buying air.
I say that non-nefariously. There is simply no intrinsic value. It is a liability with guaranteed cost of more liabilities in the future.
No. You bought air. That is all.
Of course.
That's the plan.
When someone invests $50,000 in PSLs, the organization is aware that they will not forfeit their sunk cost by failing to purchase season tickets, as not doing so would mean losing the initial expenditure. Therefore, the organization knows they can raise ticket prices because the PSL holders are financially committed and that enables the organization to significantly increase ticket pricing because you're "stuck".
You either pay the increasing prices every year or you default and lose your money.
Of course not.
Remember, you bought air. That is all.
To be fair to PSE, this isn't really the Bills fault. Any event that you would actually want to go to (think big music acts), the organizer has a contract that they control all tickets. So it's out of the Bills hands. You might be able to get a monster truck rally or something like that though.
For any events where they do throw PSL owners are a bone (meaning they offer to sell you tickets at full retail price just like the general public), they dont guarantee that you will have YOUR seats you paid for with the PSL.
30 years.
Which means if the team goes through another 20 year drought, you are obligated to continue paying the ever increasing season ticket prices. No matter what. Even if the team is on year 7 of Dick Jauron and refuses to fire him.
Yes.
As long as you understand going into the process that you are purchasing air, then all is fine.
Can’t disagree with any of this.

Bass O Matic was a great nickname- and one of the greatest skits in SNL history. I do, however share some of the OPs concern with Bass. Perhaps a holder change will help, but they need to have another plan in case he’s “ lost it “.

Forcing the 50 year people out and PSLs are different conversations. The answer is, “yes” the Bills needed to charge SIGNIFICANTLY more for the lower level, between the 30’s that are largely populated with the longest tenured season ticket holders. This was a response to “did the Bills really need to price out 50 year season ticket holders?”
I agree. A new stadium with a new pricing structure was a necessary part of keeping the Bills in Buffalo. They also knew that such a pricing change would mean some customers would be effective priced out - or “ lost”. The goal actually was not to retain 100% of the previous customers- not realistically anyway. The expectation is that new customers ( willing / able to spend significantly more ) would replace any who were lost. If it were (for the sake of argument )a brand new building with the same pricing and seat total then 100% retention would be the goal. This of course would never happen in the real world. More expensive seating with less seats overall guarantees some old customers will need to be replaced. Again, all of this was necessary if the Bills were to remain here. Otherwise they’d have simply left for greener pastures- and more green $$ elsewhere.
