  1. He’s bored. The proceedings are a completely political sham prosecution with a pet judge and jury. Their predetermined guilty verdict will be overturned on appeal. Alan Dershowitz said it is the weakest case he’s seen in his 60 years of experience. NYS is a complete embarrassment as usual.
  2. It’s an NFL team. He wants to keep it for obvious reasons. It makes so much money he won’t mind having a minority owner with a 25% share.
  3. Well… The NFL IS a business, no ? A business selling a disposable good (entertainment) isn’t going to make much profit selling to people with no money.
  4. Fwiw it’s being reported by at least one major news outlet that OJ had left specific instructions on what to do with his remains and his brain will not be donated for CTE research.
  5. Perhaps , but at least one juror has stated that the jury thought he was guilty but they went with the not guilty verdict to punish the LAPD for the Rodney King beating.
  6. This was a good documentary. Very well done imo
  7. While that take is more than fair, there is also nothing wrong with the take of commenting only on his football accomplishments. This is after all a Bills football fan forum, and OJ was possibly the greatest Bill ever. This is not a forum on society or the failings of humans who happen to play football. To these things, having no comment at the time of OJ’s death actually says quite a lot.
  8. I think “OJ Simpson dead at 76 “ is a better thread title than what you changed it to. Splitting hairs perhaps , but jmo.
  9. Great point. That’s another strike against him in the name of humanity.
  10. Does he get a pass ? He gets some praise and a fair amount of criticism as well.
  11. Saw an ESPN mock last week that had the Bills drafting Worthy. None of these mocks mean a thing, really.
  12. Bass O Matic was a great nickname- and one of the greatest skits in SNL history. I do, however share some of the OPs concern with Bass. Perhaps a holder change will help, but they need to have another plan in case he’s “ lost it “.
  13. I agree. A new stadium with a new pricing structure was a necessary part of keeping the Bills in Buffalo. They also knew that such a pricing change would mean some customers would be effective priced out - or “ lost”. The goal actually was not to retain 100% of the previous customers- not realistically anyway. The expectation is that new customers ( willing / able to spend significantly more ) would replace any who were lost. If it were (for the sake of argument )a brand new building with the same pricing and seat total then 100% retention would be the goal. This of course would never happen in the real world. More expensive seating with less seats overall guarantees some old customers will need to be replaced. Again, all of this was necessary if the Bills were to remain here. Otherwise they’d have simply left for greener pastures- and more green $$ elsewhere.
  14. Exactly. The NFL went upscale years ago. Compare a Super Bowl ticket today to the 90’s SB Bills games. It’s in another universe.
  15. Hopefully this means a big move in the draft and lots of resources sunk into the WR position. I have a suspicion that Sean using it to leverage even more being put into his Defense is more likely.
  16. Of course there is “ inequity”. That shouldn’t be a surprise. Seeing the reality for what it is - reality is not “ coping” or rationalizing or any other psychobabble that you want to throw in there. It’s simply having a brain and seeing things for what they are. The world isn’t perfect. The other option was the team leaves. Neither is a perfect choice, but few things ever are. Some would prefer that the State, County etc “ save” the money and waste it on something else. I’m not one of them. The perfect third option just doesn’t exist, no matter how much anyone wishes it did.
  17. Anyone looking at a PSL as some type of investment opportunity is probably checking out bridges in the Jersey swamplands too.
  18. Coping with what ? The Bills not leaving for greener pastures in some other city ? The NFL changed dramatically decades ago and that’s just reality. Those who seem shocked , stunned , surprised etc are the ones trying to “ cope”. The best seats were undervalued vs the rest of the league. That wasn’t going to continue in a new building.
  19. Without it, the Bills would not be staying in Buffalo. It’s just the reality of todays NFL.
  20. This is correct. We hashed this stuff out in stadium threads years ago. Pretty much verbatim and that’s exactly what we’re seeing now.
  21. This is not uncommon in the NFL. That’s just how it is. Bills fans have enjoyed a bygone era NFL economy for about a quarter century longer than anyone else. It wasn’t going to last forever, and now here we are.
  22. Are they telling them that ? Your loyal customer will be offered comparable seats in the new stadium. As was pointed out in this thread , they’ve only brought in 1.6% of STHs at this point. We are talking about pricier seats at this point because that is the customer the Bills have started with. Is it wrong for the Bills to begin with their highest paying customers? Why does it? They could DVR and go out for pizza like you do. Perhaps they will prefer it to going to the stadium as well.
  23. Wouldn’t work though. They’re offering comparable seating in the new building . If a large portion were to downgrade to a lower level of seating , they’d run out of customers for the premium seating and have to slash prices. Their approach is understandable Vs purely by seniority.
