Quote“I just feel like it’s not any different from any away game,” said Hill, “They got a great team. I feel like the fan base is just like any other fan base. So it’s gonna be just like a normal environment, you know, to us.”

Yes, that was painful to listen to. Hadn't listened to him in a long time and my first thought was he had a stroke. Looked it up and it turns out it is a different condition; Mitochondrial Dysfunction, which I'd never heard of. It causes fatigue, muscle weakness and neurological problems. It's really too bad for him, but for fans' sake, he should retire. Or perhaps they could have him do spots on their intermission show.
Same here. I hadn’t heard edwards call a game in years and my first thought was “did he have a stroke?” so I googled it and found the same thin you did.

Now you all can see why I was so hyped on draft night when he fell to #13!
are fans still worried about his size? 😉 lolyeah, he’s going to be a good one.
(edit - I get why his size was a concern. I wasn’t mocking anyone for that, just to be clear)

good post!more context:

QuoteThere is more to Spikes’ photo. Fewer than half of the NFL teams offer their alumni any suite at all. Former players and fans who’ve watched from the large suite say the image would have looked starkly different had Spikes moved a few feet to his left. Three Bills sources with direct knowledge of the situation say Spikes also was given two seating remedies, but he refused, with one of the sources saying Spikes seemed intent on taking the issue public.
seems like he purposely chose that photo angle to make it look worse than it is. He was also offered 2 different remedies to the situation and refused.
Quote“He painted a far worse picture to prove a point,” said a former Bills executive who has been in the suite with alumni. He spoke on the condition of anonymity because he still interacts with alumni. “Those guys all talk. This had been festering for a while, and he took the opportunity.
“That’s not to say the Bills can’t do better, but there’s a lot of good being done there too.”
Also:
QuoteThe Bills are one of 15 teams that offer an alumni suite, according to the NFL Legends Community office. The Bills and Green Bay Packers are the only clubs who are in a small market and play in an older stadium. Las Vegas is the next-smallest market with an alumni suite, but its two-year-old Allegiant Stadium is hosting Super Bowl 55. The smallest market after that is Miami.
leas than 1/2 of NFL teams even offer alumni suites.- 1

So far I think they look like a McDermott defense again. This is similar to what his defense played like in Carolina and his first couple seasons in Buffalo.
I felt like maybe Frazier took more control of the defense the last few years and so far it appears that might have been the case. Time will tell though. The real test will be the playoffs I think.

Perfect route, perfect throw!

Offense play calling is going to be a problem this game.
Yeah, not a fan of the game plan/play calling so far. Hopefully Dorsey adjusts and/or finds his groove. They are playing a very good defense though.
At least the Bills Defense is playing excellent so far!

Jason Kelce was just joking around.
QuoteIt's hard to answer because I don't really know a lot about Travis' love life. I try to keep his business kind of his business, stay out of that world. But having said that, man, I think they're doing great and I think it's all 100% true, and I hope this thing goes a mile — no, I'm joking, I don't know what's happening."

Heck of a stand by the giants defense. 3 separate big 3rd down stops!

Purdy seemed intent on forcing the ball to Deebo on that last series from inside the 20.

They play at 2pm while the Bills are playing at 1pm. Who made that decision?
Any word yet on if it will be live streamed? Hopefully the Capitals do a live stream and the Sabres pick it up.
preseason coverage is always so hit or miss.

I saw that live. It made me queasy. Gave me flashbacks to my knee injury.I actually had a very similar knee injury, except that my knee was bent 90° in the wrong direction forward. It completely tore my ACL, MCL, ripped a big chunk of my meniscus right off the bone and chipped my knee bone.
My first knee doctor was one of the guys who works on the Bills and UB football players and he told me he never drained more fluid from someone’s knee than mine. It looked like I had a watermelon around my knee 😂
I really feel for Chubb.

Well to be fair 2018 is when we drafted Dahlin.. which is when I said our pipeline actually changed.. we've became loaded from 18 to 23
Our pipeline in 2014-2015 was barren.. besides Jack eichel and Sam Reinhart.. which shot us to the top of the rankings because we had two projected superstars
But they started playing in Buffalo at 19 years old ... They never really were a part of a pipeline... They were thrown right to the big leagues.. they weren't seasoned in the minor leagues... The difference between 2014 and 2023... Is we have bona fide top 6 forwards in the minor league system.. we didn't have that outside of Jack and Sam
Take Reinhardt and eichel off the prospect list... And it's horrible
Yes, I agree. They’ve never had a prospect pool like this since the rebuild started in 2013. They have good prospects in juniors, the AHL, Russia, Europe… it’s crazy!
I was just saying that the #1 prospect pool ranking (the ranking itself) probably doesn’t mean much to Sabres fans that haven’t really been following the team lately like pine barrens.

Eichel and Reinhart almost came straight to the NHL... eichel did Reinhardt took one year
They really weren't part of our minor league pipeline system.. Reinhardt for like a year
Sabers had some good young talent coming straight up.. but our minor league pipeline was absolutely still pretty bare even in 2016... Certainly not the best in the NHL
It's nothing like today.. where we have future top 6 forwards in the OHL and WHL and in Rochester
We didn't have that in 2016... We had two 19 year olds who were supposed to be studs.. that's about it
The Sabres still had the #1 prospect pool ranking in 2014/15, 2018 and numerous top 3 rankings too.
https://theathletic.com/459786/2018/08/30/pronman-2018-19-nhl-farm-system-rankings/?amp=1
But I agree, this time is different. They have an insane amount of good prospects right now. And it’s actually transferring to the ice this time. Prospects are developing, both in the AHL and NHL.
I wasn’t disagreeing with your post BTW. I was just pointing out that to a casual Buffalo Sabres fan who hasn’t been paying attention to this latest version of the rebuild, I can see why a top prospect pool doesn’t mean a whole lot to them.

Wow. Fells like he could be a trade candidate this year. Disappointing.
I think it would be tough for the Bills to stomach the dead cap hit.$11M dead cap if he’s traded this year.

That certainly isn't true your first statement lol
The 2000 years that were really good we sapped our entire pipeline to stay relevant
Trading away prospects and picks to remain relevant...
The sabres pipeline has been entirely rebuilt starting with Dahlin pick...
Matthew savoie , isik Rosen , Zach Benson .. we have stud under 20 kids and a lot more
i think he’s talking about 2015-2020 ish with the old core like Eichel, Reinhart, Nylander, etc. It is true that the Sabres had the #1 ranked prospect pool multiple times during the previous rebuild and it never led to winning. However, I do think this time is different. Their pipeline this time is sooooo deep. Way deeper than any time in the last decade or more. And it actually seems like the kids are developing this time. Plus, they’re already having success in the NHL.
I am really looking forward to this season!

Wonder if he'll be back available soon.
Wtf?! What happened?
edit - I had read about him asking p,Ayers to share photos of their families to get to know each other better. Apparently this all stems from that? I don’t get why he was forced to resign over that.

Tua looks good. He’s a very good fit for this offense.

Yeah, it’s obviously no big deal. But I still hope fans take it as a challenge to be even louder than normal.
