I've never seen so many holding calls on 1st down runs as I do with the Bills every single week
-
That's exactly how we should use Foster
-
Benjamin didn't look for the ball. He has to anticipate the blitz.
-
You can't defend that. That's what Benjamin needs to be able to do.

Poor blocking all around

That was excellent recognition and pursuit from Milano, and a form tackle

so why the rush to trade a.j for a 5th. The dynamic duo make a lot of mistakes If their evaluation is that Allen isn't ready then they could have had A.j starting this week.
Did you not read the article? They believe Allen is ready. Their was internal debate about starting him right away and they gave Peterman the edge because of how consistent he was in preseason. Peterman was never going to stand in the way of Allen starting this year. The 5th round pick we got in return is infinitely more valuable than anything McCarron could have offered us this year. You can find players in the 5th round. Kyle Williams and Matt Milano for example. And everyone has forgotten that McCarron looked as bad or worse than Peterman in the last preseason game. It's a miracle we got what we did for him.

I'll repeat, look at the 2017 off season when the team had to spend carefully. What does the team have to show for it? An overpaid DT who is a star in name only, a fragile DE, some throw away O-lineman. That's what they got when they had to be careful and watch every dollar. What kind of spree will they go on in 2018? What makes you think that their talent evaluation will be better?
You answered your own question. They had to spend carefully which meant they had to sign second rate players at best. I don't know why everyone is acting like Star is terrible. He isn't Aaron Donald but he's doing his job, which is to eat up double teams and let the LBs roam free. Our run defense was fine last week. It was the last reason that we lost. Murphy has been injured, it happens. Beyond that I don't believe we spent more than $5 million in cap space on a single player. That's what you do in a rebuilding year, you take what you can get. This regime believes in building through the draft and so far they have done that. White, Edmunds, and Allen look like good 1st round picks. Zay looks like a bust, but Dawkins and Phillips look like good picks too and Milano is a steal in the 5th round. They've only had 2 drafts and a cap-controlled free agency to rebuild the team in their image. That's why I expected this season to be rough. They're not even close to being done. Next year we should see a significant jump and in 2020 we should be contenders for the AFC Championship. That's their plan.

What a waste of human talent.
He could have been the next Randy Moss

I wouldn't be surprised if the Rams tried to trade for him. I would be pretty surprised if we did.

I would look at it as they are trying to get weapons for their Rookie QB.

Do we have someone better?
Hopefully McCloud. He and Allen seemed to have a good connection going. And hopefully Benjamin actually gives some effort tomorrow. Kerley isn't a difference maker.

Who is more of a weapon. Jermey Kerley or Conner McDermott?
Neither. I'm not the one that called Jeremy Kerley a weapon. Be honest if Kerley had been unsigned and we suddenly signed him right now you'd be questioning why this regime was bringing in an old slow WR.

There are so many OTHER Players to cut instead of stripping a weapon from your Rookie QB
This is the first time anyone has ever called Jeremy Kerley a "weapon."

Coach McDefense strike again. Are we even trying to win?
Is Jeremy Kerley a game changing receiver? Somehow I don't see Vegas moving the line after this cut.

Can’t see the sense in this.
Im beginning to think that the process involves tanking this season!!
This has been true the past 2 seasons. Winning individual games is not the biggest goal right now. They are going to keep trying new things to see what works best moving into next year.
-
This is going to be an experimental year. That's why they were willing to eat cap in exchange for getting a look at Corey Coleman. They will see what the young receivers can do tomorrow and if it doesn't work out my guess is they will bring Kerley back.
-
I'm guessing this is the logic behind it. I hope McCloud or Foster can step up. It's a sad state of affairs when releasing Jeremy Kerley is widely seen as a questionable move.

They must really like Ray Ray
He had a good connection with Allen in preseason so let's hope that translates.

I'm assuming they plan on moving Zay into the slot now and McCloud is healthy to return. Still, very odd
So I guess our #1 is Benjamin and our #2 is Foster or McCloud? And Zay in the slot. Or maybe they like Holmes. I really don't know to be honest.
-
This is a very strange move. Is McCloud healthy? Did something happen behind the scenes?

As would I John.
I just think they holding on to a top LT like Glenn and trading up for Allen could've easily been accomplished by giving up other assets such as draft picks which they obviously had available.
Keeping Glenn wouldn't have solved anything. Dawkins is fine at LT. Glenn never played RT so who knows if he could have been good there. But our bigger problem is the interior. We did use a 5th round pick on Teller. If we had used say our 3rd round pick on an interior lineman then people would complain we didn't draft DT which was another need. Or if we hadn't been able to get Edmunds people would complain we didn't replace Preston Brown. We were never going to replace all our losses in one offseason, especially once Wood and Incognito retired.
