  1. I really like Worthy as a prospect yet still share the real concern of whether he can beat press coverage on the outside. That’s not why you draft him though. You draft him for elite explosiveness that should result in big plays and opposing defenses having to keep their safeties back.

Still, I am very on board with Worthy at 28 combined with either trading for a vet or drafting at 60/trading up from 128/drafting at 128 another bigger outside WR prospect (Javon Baker?) to pair with Worthy.

Does the big outside boundary press coverage beating WR prospect have to come in the 1st round? I think not. We took Gabe Davis in the 4th.

So there seems to be a lot of smoke regarding Worthy. I'm not totally opposed to it, but have flashbacks of Goodwin and/or Graham. My question is, if Worthy ran a 4.4 40 and not the fastest ever, would he still be regarded as a 1st round wr?

Yes. Years of production. Elite ball tracking. Plays bigger than his listed size. Good route runner.

I did not like him breaking the 40 record because I liked him as a prospect pre-Combine and assumed people would then be asking your very question. I also buy that he cut down to 165 lbs just so he could break that record but usually plays closer to 175.

  3. Trades:

    - 28 & 144 to SF for 31 & 63

    - 63 & 163 to ARI for 66 & 104

    - 104, 160, & 204 to GB for 91

    - 128, 133, & 200 to CIN for 115 & 149

    31. Xavier Worthy - WR - Texas

    60. Adisa Isaac - DE - Penn State

    66. Ja’Lynn Polk - WR - Washington

    91. Michael Hall, Jr. - DT - Ohio State

    115. Dadrion Taylor-Demerson - S - Texas Tech

    149. Javon Baker - WR - UCF

    248. Kimani Vidal - HB - Troy

Only regret is not adding to the OL. Otherwise, WR room is stocked, some nice pieces added to the DL, and we get decent prospects at S and HB.

I'm with you on Worthy, he was my guy even before the Combine.  Knew he would crush the 40, he's going to have a Zay Flowers type season for some team (hopefully us).  If he played on Oregon or another team with a legit QB, he'd be a top 15 guy.

Agree it would be nice to draft a complementary tandem at WR, bigger bodied as you say.  Someone who is a better blocker, can win downfield on 50/50 attempts and redzone.

I like Tez and Coleman in Rd2, but don't think Beane will double dip that early.  If we wait until 4th, I like Javon Baker alot.  And some others that might slide due to it being a deep class.

Not sure Baker makes it to the 4th round, but I would be very happy with a Worthy/Baker double-dip.

I think the complete focus on an outside guy is overstated.

Yes, we need to replace Gabe.  But we also need to replace Diggs.  Made we get a Ladd or Pearsal early to play the Y and get an X later or via trade or something.

Agreed. I think they want a WR room full of guys who can line up anywhere.

I agree with others that said we dumped Diggs to get out of cap hell, so why would the Bills just do this again 🤷‍♂️

The cap does not seem to be the only factor that went into parting ways with Diggs imho

You should have quit after 2. 🍺

I’ve said before….I believe the Bills are going to have a make-over when they open the new stadium. And I mean a new logo and new look. Not anyting from the past. Just a gut feeling.

Hope not especially if they go the way of other teams recently who look like they play in arena football leagues.

I know Zubaz won’t happen but hey a fan can dream and at least they would be unique.

  8. Their true needs appear to be WR, DE, and S.

Likeliest imho is a WR in round one after a modest trade up or at 28, then a DE or BPA at 60, before addressing S in round 4. Would not mind a S like Bullard if there at 60 and then a DE like Kamara if there in round 4.

But who knows, maybe Beane has that Tre White money coming in June reserved for a vet S or DE with whom he already has a handshake deal…

  9. So many takes, so little time.

The trade is a good move overall and netted good return given the contract situation, the unsettled relationship, and compared with other recent trades of WRs around the league. The bad move was the extension that made this trade of an albatross necessary. Rather Beane grab a lifeboat than go down with the ship. Still, we are not rebuilding, just being smart and objective about bad contracts.

Diggs gave us some great entertainment and production, but the sun is setting on his career. The Bills showed last season down the stretch that he is replaceable.

I wonder how little value we could give up to get in position for one of the big 3 WRs in this draft.

Also, yes, the money freed up next year can be used for a new deal if we were to trade for a WR - just need to structure the hits that way.
