And not a single one of those was a Buffalo pick.  Thats 5 years in the top 3 rounds. The wr position has been so grossly undervalued by Mcbeane it should be malpractice

He used a 1st round pick to get our WR1 who was arguably the most productive receiver in the league during his tenure with the Bills. We had more pressing needs after that. You'll get your WR in at least one of the first three rounds this year.

  2. Kelce is a tool and a spoiled baby, but that wasn't a shove. Definitely bumped into him but Reid just wasn't expecting anyone to come in hot like that and lost his balance.

Calling this a shove is just being melodramatic.

  3. Can you imagine the mountain of hot takes that would have ensued if Allen had air-balled an interception like Mahomes did in the Super Bowl?

These guys are held to different standards. Allen has outplayed Mahomes the last 5 times they played. Switch the defenses and Allen has the trophies and Mahomes doesn't.

Brady had the best defenses. Mahomes has the best defenses. Allen has a tissue paper defense and receivers with slippery hands.

Mahomes is as cool as ice in clutch moments. I hate that he keeps winning and my friends were laughing at me at how upset I got with the 49ers losing (not a team I routinely support) but I have to admit it...

When it's crunch time and the game, the season, the championship is on the line, if I can pick one player to make it happen, it's Mahomes. I hate it but that's the truth.

Yeah that gimme TD after the punt debacle and the final walk-in toss to Hardman were legendary. He really nailed those 4 field goals too. Amazing stuff.

They had injuries including tonight. They were missing Joe Thuney and Derrick Nnadi a starting Guard and DT. They missed Pacheco for a couple of games. Didn't have Bolton for a stretch of the season.

Pacheco and Bolton both played most of the year and the entire playoffs.

Pennel was an upgrade to Nnadi.

And apparently you don't need quality guard play when you can just hold on every play.

Basically, none of those guys affected their game. Give us either Milano or Bernard, nevermind both, nevermind the rest of our defensive starters who were out against the Chiefs, and we're probably celebrating right now.

Huh?  If each teams scores equally on their first possession then it is back to the very old school rule of first score wins.  So…..if first score wins and you win the coin toss is that an advantage or nah?

Well yeah if first score wins then you take the ball. But that's not the rule.

Drive 3 is sudden death though and that’s not a minor thing

Possibly a consideration in a shootout. But unless you have zero faith in your defense then you shouldn't worry about low probability scenarios over a high probability scenario.

If the receiving team scores a TD and makes the extra point, the worst that can realistically happen is that they are either tied in a game where the next score wins or they have to stop a 2 pointer.  If the opponent scores and opts to kick for 1, then the receiving team has the advantage.  If they score a FG and can hold the other team to a FG they gain a huge advantage.  The only advantage for the kicking team is knowing what they have to do and possibly having 4 downs.  SF failed in the game, but the rules are pretty even between kicking and receiving, maybe slightly favoring receiving.

SF can blame their loss on being outcoached several times in or near the red zone.

It also changes what they might have called in third down.

And that is an absolutely huge reason.

With respect to the bolded, that's only a consideration if the game is tied 35-35 or something. It was 19-19 because neither team could score. You don't base your decision on the mere possibility of 3 scoring drives in a row in this kind of game.

The first or second series for KC iirc went to 4th down and < 1 yard at their own 30 or something. If KC gets the ball first, do they go for it there knowing that failing to convert is an insta-loss?

They definitely punt. If you don't get it, the other team is already in field goal range to win the game. And you count on your better defense to force a punt against an offense that has barely functioned all night.

By the way this is why you take the ball first. If they hold the Chiefs to a FG, the 49ers only need a FG to win the game on their next drive.

No, this is why you take the ball second. Chiefs are going for it on 4th because they have to. Normally you'd punt here but you already know the 49ers scored a FG. Now they can win the game when normally they would have punted.

Unless both teams score and it’s still tied. Then next score wins, and taking the ball is the right call.

Nah I'd rather know exactly what I need to do. If you take the ball first, you get 3 downs. If you take it second, you get 4 downs. And you don't have to second guess any field goal or "go for it" decisions because you already know the outcomes.

that’s just not true.  They lost 3 starters in game against us.

Seriously? They lost two guys on defense who are average at best and only play 50% of their team's snaps. We lost multiple All-Pro level players for the season as well as the remainder of our starters in the middle 5 who play 90+% snaps.

    There is no comparison.

This post is accurate, but you’re receiving pushback because many Bills fans think that JA, right now, is the best QB to ever walk the earth. Someday, he may become the latter, as he has the physical tools, but he’s not there yet.

I don't think many Bills fans would call Allen the best QB ever, but he's been better than Mahomes in the last 5 games they've played against each other. We won 3 of those. Unfortunately they were in the regular season. The defense lost the other 2 in the playoffs.

One of these years the Bills will have their entire defense healthy in the playoffs. It’s only a matter of time.

Yeah a big talking point that never gets mentioned during the playoffs / Super Bowl is that the teams that go furthest are the healthiest. Brady and Mahomes somehow never had to play with half their defense.

Take away Kelce and we'd annihilate the Chiefs.  Now we just need to figure out how to do that.

They could start with not letting him get wide open in the end zone for the easiest TD he's ever caught.

Lol he won’t call plays. Stefanski does. Unless he’s planning on giving that up. Which is doubtful. Dorsey will be a glorified QB coach in Cleveland, but that is probably where he is best utilized.

Yup. His weakness was play calling and run design but he had a great passing scheme.
