Worthy is as light as a feather I like him but won't trade up for him. I much rather stay put and take the freight train that's Xaxier Leggette 220lbs at 4.37 is serious explosiveness. Leggette was also the fastest tracked player by mileage last yr as he was tracked at over 22 miles per hour. The combo of speed and strength the blocking abilities the after the catch abilities I don't care if he's 23yrs old the man can be a monster in this game. He reminds me of a faster Eric Moulds and like Moulds coming out wasn't the best route runner coming out of college but he can learn that easily because he has the movement skills.

If he can learn that easily, why has he not learned it. Dude was a 5th year senior.

The game presentation/sound sucks the life out of the place as well.  Music is turned up way too loud and pushes me into my seat.  Players' individual goal songs are also very lame and suck the energy out of a crowd after a goal and pushes everyone back into their seats.

The individual goal songs are a perfect symbol for this team. Individual stats, no team unity.

Hired to get Sabres culture back on track!

It all started with guys like Imlach and Bowman from other organizations.  Winning organizations.  Lindy just so happens to reach so far back to that past.  Sabres roots!

We need something to connect to the legacy... The rink is a morgue in BFLo!

The rink is a morgue because there is no faith. Nor should there be. The team was terrible at home for a long time this year and if they gave up the first goal they only came back to win 6 times. In January it was only once. They were something like 1-11 if they got scored on first at home at that point. They ended up 6-15. They were better at home later in the year but by that point they'd already burned any good will or hope the fans had.

They need to show people they are for real before people buy back in. It's just been too long at this point. I used to get nice tickets for Sabres/Flyers games in Philly from a business associate. I've stopped asking for them. They are a waste of time.

History says this nostalgia hire is a tremendous mistake. The odds of a Terry team bucking history are low.

Why would anyone want to pay $925 million dollars (and probably be asked to help with finances for the team) and have no say in anything?

Because you get invited into a really exclusive group and it puts you at the front of a very short line to get the chance to be a majority owner in the future. Jimmy Haslam was a minority owner of the Steelers before he was allowed to buy the Browns.

  5. This has happened so many more times than this with prop betting. They just haven't caught people. The only way they caught this guy is because he's such a fringe player that the betting activity was easy to spot. If it were a more popular player, for example Calvin Ridley, who already has more money placed in his props, it would be much harder to catch.

Betting is out of the bag, but these prop bets need to go away. It's way too easy for an individual person to control the outcome to a prop bet on something that specific person does in a game. It's hard to fix a whole game without a conspiracy. It's easy to drop a pass to keep yourself from scoring, or from going over a specific number of catches, etc. Super easy.

I realize that some will say why do it? They have so much to lose. People have problems and also get themselves into situations where they are vulnerable to outside control. That's why they do it.

I think that ⬆️ puts things into perspective.

Granato was routinely out-coached and he’s had no answer for the adjustments teams have made to defending Buffalo.

I am nervous that they are just going to promote Seth Appert. There were already rumors about it before Granato was fired. I will be beyond pissed if that happens.

That would be the FOURTH head coach IN A ROW without any NHL head coaching experience. You can’t do that. You can’t hire back to back to back to back inexperienced head coaches.

They 100% need to hire a head coach with experience, and there are a few good ones currently sitting unemployed.

I don’t really want to bring Lindy back, but I’d take him over Appert if those were my 2 choices. I’d rather they hire someone like Berube or Boudreau or heck, even give me Quenneville (though I doubt that happens).

Not Gallant. He’s not what Buffalo needs. I think he would be a poor fit.

Brind’amor is my dream hire. He still hasn’t signed an extension in Carolina (afaik) and I believe his contract expires this offseason.

Pegula should throw a pile of money at him! lol

    Brind'Amour isn't happening.

That the designer couldn't understand how to have the tops and the pants have the same pattern of stripe on the side still boggles my mind.  Those were absolute clown suits.

He has the 13th highest AAV on his contract.  He's pretty firmly in the 2nd/3rd tier of TE contracts with players like Henry, Higbee, and Fant.

Tier 1 - 14-17M AAV - Kittle, Kelce, Goedert, Andrews, Hockenson, Waller

Tier 2 - 12-14M AAV - Engram, Njoku, Kmet, Schultz

Keep arguing. He's paid like a top half TE1 with a TE2 role.

EDIT: I worked with a guy who went to UGA and went back to Athens, GA to be in his buddies wedding. The groom got a DUI going 2-3 blocks from the reception to the hotel. That would be another example of bad timing! .

In his defense they were stopping every car on that sidewalk, and that ain't legal.

    What would you call it?

You can't give Knox a 1 v 1 blocking assignment consistently and expect him to win.  This is a problem for your #2 TE.  You can have 1 TE like that.  You can't have 2 because then it forces you to carry a third that only blocks or to use an offensive lineman in that role who obviously doesn't run routes and it makes your offense predictable.

They drafted Kincaid to do what they paid Knox to do which made Knox irrelevant.  This would be fine if his salary weren't what it is or if his contract weren't structured the way it is.  As it stands Knox about 3 quarters of Knox's salary is dead money.

Outside the very best of the best of the best. That is exactly how Tight Ends are used. Knox is an above avg. blocking Tight End in the NFL of guys who can actually go out and run routes. Is he a Lee Smith? No. But teams also know Lee Smith isn't a threat in any other way.

He gets paid like one of the best of the best. He's not a good blocker and his receiving role has been supplanted by Kincaid. You don't need to pay a guy that much to chip DEs.

Hollins has been his team's #2 WR for two straight seasons now, fwiw.

I said on a good team. He played for the Raiders and the Falcons. He caught 18 passes last year.  I don't think that's a #2 WR even on a bad team.  Hollins has caught 131 passes in his entire 6 year career. 57 of of those came in his one season with the Raiders who were so impressed with him that they let him walk after the year.  Maybe he had a huge offer the Raiders didn't want to match? Nope. 1 year 2.5 million, less than a million guaranteed.

Apart from that 1 year with the Raiders, Hollins has played with 3 other teams over a 5 year span.  He averaged 15 (14.8) catches a season for those other 5 years. 16, 10, 16, 14, and 18.  Why anyone thinks he's going to suddenly break out at age 30 and deliver WR2 productivity is beyond my comprehension.

Knox was used primarily as a blocker in the first half of the season.  That’s a large part of why his catches were down.  They used him to support in double teams quite a bit.  It may not be his best trait, but he does it a lot

Using him as help for Spencer Brown isn't the same thing as using him as an actual blocker.

I get that the A's have abysmal attendance, but moving to a stadium in another city with only 10k seats (+4k for lawn chairs) sounds crazy to me for any professional team.

Didn't want to pay Oakland the severance fee or be compelled to sell their stake in the property.  Frankly I don't think Oakland really wanted them to stay at this point which was the purpose of the middle finger fee.

I know it was a long time ago, but Oakland stole this team from Kansas City, who stole it from Philadelphia, both times in shady fashion. Karma will work its way back to you.

Could Spencer Brown be used like Cordy Glenn was?

I'm pretty sure the other 31 teams already have functioning turnstiles at their facilities but it doesn't hurt to ask I suppose.
