Mahomes best season was in 2018. He hasn't meaningfully improved since then. He's only declined since 2018.
See how weak that statement about Josh is?

Joe Burrow peaked in 2021

"Overdrating players in a later round" that kind of sounds like an oxymoron. Once you get past round 4, it's a crapshoot in every draft.

Brandon Aiyuk, 6'' 200lbs. Drafted by SF in the 1st round #22 overall. Four-year player 26 years old.
2023 stats, 105 targets, 75 catches for 1342 yards, 7 TDs, success % 70.5. The catch percentage is 71.4%. 12.8 yards per target. The #7 rated WR in the NFL last season. Diggs was 13th. Gabe Davis was 49th.
Aiyuk is a clear #1 WR, no question.
The thing I love about the above stats is the 105 targets. That's the direction the team needs to go. Diggs was a 160 target per year receiver in his time in Buffalo. That is way too many forced targets to a single player. Shakir, Kincaid, Cook, Aiyuk, and Samuel make that your top four receiving targets and let them all get 80 - 120 targets.

I mean the Bills have only played the Bengals 2.25 in the past few years since the Bills have been good, so to Cin has their number is disingenuous.
Sure, they got their butts whooped twice and it might very well have been 3 times for all we know. But only 1.25 of those games correlate to each other.
Small sample size, yes. But boy did it spiral out of control FAST in all 2.25 games. In the most recent and only two full games, the Bills defense gave up TD-TD to start off each game. In the shortened game they gave TD and at least a for sure FG could have also easily been TD-TD in that one as well. Just no answers at all on defense in either of the three games.
Offense really never clicked in either as well.

KC getting hot at the right time seems to happen often. I’m of the personality that gives credit where credit is due. There’s no point in discrediting a team that has continuously knocked out our team in the playoffs. Give them credit and maybe receive positive karma in return.
At the same time, reality is the Bills can't beat the Bengals. History says they are more likely to beat the Chiefs than they are the Bengals.
Not likely we will ever avoid both in the playoffs but hopefully seeding can work out where we don't have to beat both.

Not to get sidetracked but you said similar things last offseason. You said KC would take a step back and Cincy would be our competition. My response will be the same as last offseason: KC is the defending champs until proven otherwise. They will be the Bills (and all AFC contenders) biggest challenge.
I disagree. Bills have not really shown any hint at all that they can beat Cincy. We can't even be competitive with them. We are at least beating the Chiefs in the regular season and playing competitive game with them in the postseason. Cincy remains the Bills biggest challenge until proven otherwise. We just got lucky they didn't make the dance last year. They nearly did with a back up QB.

Based on how the board is looking now, I would respectfully disagree. We are still in line to get one of the two receivers we spent a lot of time with, and acquired a 3rd round pick. One of those receivers, Tez Walker, even went in the third round of Mock Draft 1.0.

And? Let me know when he gets cuffed or taken anywhere.
We will let you know now then. They've already done a mug shot and he has posted bail. His jail time so far has been brief but it did actually happen.

Buddy, you said nobody was getting cuffed or going into custody.
Lol. Exactly!
Billl at the start of the season when Rice isn't on the field:
"Put me on record, there's no way he serves the entire 15 year sentence."

I don't know that KC will dump him. Why would they dump him?
They dumped Kareem Hunt for far less. What Rice did was 100x as deadly and stupid than what Hunt did.

Why would anyone be in custody? It was a traffic accident. There’s pictures of the drivers walking away on foot. The cars have damage, but they aren’t mangled or anything. Sounds like they were being stupid, but nobody’s getting arrested over speeding on the Dallas expressway unless they were driving impaired.
This did not age well.
I don't know if Rice serves actual time behind bars or not. I would wager a better than decent chance he either misses the entire season or sits out a good 6 games or so on league suspension.
But to think someone who speeds because they are racing another sports car, causes a six car accident and LEAVES THE SCENE, wouldn't be brought into custody is something else.

So…….it’s almost hopeless. Great! 😂
Haha. My thoughts too! 39% and 18% chances respectively. Screw it. Let's just draft a Safety at #28 and DT at #60.

People need to come to the realization that the days of the Bills offense running through a WR that gets 140+ targets is over. Diggs got that and then some during his time as a Bill, 160+ targets per year on average. Look for the Bills to feature 4-5 players all in the 80 -110 target range.

Love the red helmet.
But I am waiting for the inevitable blow back when they bring it back with the "all red" uniform.

Someone on youtube put all the plays of Kincaid and Cook. The change is how these two got the ball was pretty evident when Brady took over. Tons of RPO and quick strike. In saying that, I just dont see how some of these guys fit into that offense. I just see guys like Ladd and Lagette as the best fits. I dont see a guy like Brian Thomas even being that good of a fit TBH. I think he is being used as a smoke screen. I almost wonder if the Bills would have Worthy over him.
I agree. I think we are getting away from an offense that force feeds the ball to one receiver for 140+ targets every season. Diggs averaged just over 160 targets per season with the Bills these last four years. All of the "top 4" WR's in this draft would likely be guys demanding that type of work load. I think our offense is better suited to not have any one player targeted more than 120 times.
I see Worthy as a legitimate possibility because he offers something none of our other players have in speed and could be a guy that sees less than 90 - 100 targets a season and still produces and threatens the defense vertically. I could also see them targeting WR in the 2nd round, hopefully with a trade up to get the guy they want. Doing so, sets the tone that, hey, you are piece to the puzzle here but you are not THE piece.

Agreed. A better more explosive version of Gabe Davis is what this offense needs. Kincaid, Samuel and Shakir can handle the underneath and medium targets. Draft a WR at pick 60. Draft Dejean, Barton or D-Lineman at pick 28.
I'm thinking he would likely cost us this years #2. So no WR at pick 60. I wouldn't want to give up this year's #1. So maybe pick 60 this year and one more mid round pick next year?

I still like DK Metlcaf.
1. He's young. We would basically acquire him at the same age as when the Bills acquired Diggs.
2. The physical traits are still there.
3. He has one elite season under his belt back in 2020 and you could definitely make the case that that was the last time he played with a top 10 QB.
4. He won't be WR that commands the QB's attention all the time. He's still just a 120-140 targets per season receiver. Compare that to Diggs who basically averaged 160 targets per season in his four years with the Bills. I actually think in our offense DK could be a 100-115 targets per season WR and basically produce similar to Davis but at a higher level since we have seen that DK's ceiling is a 1300 yard 10.1 ypt season. And this would allow our offense to have a balanced passing attack. I'd love to see an offense where our top 4 targeted pass catchers are all within about 15-20 targets of each other at the end of the season.
5. With a new coaching staff and no franchise QB on the roster i could see Seattle making him available.

I can’t imagine Josh signing off on that. They are genuine bffsIs that what we want though?
Is Josh going to be Aaron Rogers now. Dictating the personnel?
I'm not sure the GOAT ever actually had BFF's in New England. It was all business. At a minimum, Bill wouldn't have given two cents about player relationships.

Diggs wanted to win. That's all he cares about. He didn't believe the Bills can win and that they missed their window. That's all you need to know.
Diggs missed his window I suppose as he'll be turning 31 this season. He knows he could be out of the league within a year or two at that age. Even if he is capable and better than most 3rd and 4th WR's on the depth chart, it's not likely Diggs is going to hold on for several years and take marginal backseat roles in offenses.
Allen's still what 27 or 28? His and the Bills window will be wide open for the next several years at minimum.

Question is, can he handle Diggs target load? Not likely. Diggs is a do it all type WR in terms of the route tree. I don't see DK as that guy. And does he have the endurance? He's a massive dude.
That said, I would be all for bringing in DK, even if it cost us a similar package that brought Diggs here. It's a bit of a gamble because he does only have that one great season but one could argue that was the last season Wilson was good and so the last season DK had an elite QB. Some of the tangibles are certainly still there with him.
If we brought him in and he ended up being basically Davis but on a higher level, I think I would be fine with that. I think the team is wanting to go in a direction of spreading the ball around more and not having that one guy that needs to get over 140 targets every year.

Is Seattle in cap trouble? Why would they be looking to trade him?
Because they can get multiple picks for him and there is a chance he is Gave Davis with the exception of one great season that Gabe never had. -

81 targets for 45 catches, 746 yards, 7 TDS, 56% catch rate and 9.2 yards per target
119 targets for 66 catches, 1114 yards, 8 TDS, 56% catch rate and 9.4 yards per target
That’s Gabe and DK.
He is somewhat living off of his 2020 season still, which was close to elite.
But his yards per target over the last 4 years is actually higher than Diggs 4 years here in Buffalo.

Ours season will hinge far more on our overall defense and some of the big changes in the secondary rather than the loss of a soon to be 31 year old WR who has produced next to nothing in the back half of each of the last two seasons, including no showing nearly every playoff game.
As long as we have JA, Bills Super Bowl window will always be open. We just need the defense to actually hold an opponent to 20-24 points for once in the divisional/championship round. Not likely to make the Super Bowl if your defense is giving up 27+ points every time you reach the divisional round.

I think you are wrong here when it comes to the Chiefs. Kelce was not a top 10 receiving threat last season. He was not even top 20 in total receiving yards or yards per game. He was also outside the top 10 in both total receptions and receptions per game.
Only on paper right now do the Bills have less receiving talent than the Chiefs did last year. But I would be willing to bet at the end of the year, the 2024 Billls and 2023 Chiefs will look very similar in receiving numbers. Allen is still going to throw for 4,200 yards so those yards are going to go somewhere. Just as Mahomes threw for 4,200 last year and yet didn't have any one player eclipse 1,000 yards.
