  1. Elam was clocked at 4.39. We have no one else on the team this fast. We will need him to cover Hill later…try to cover Hill. Activate him
  2. It would make no difference. We have lost Milano and we can’t fix that. Also, offensively this team is unable to run to establish a rhythm. James Cook is not the answer. Also, we have no receivers other than Diggs that can create enough separation consistently to help Allen. This season is over.
  3. You saw this, right? https://www.niagara-gazette.com/sports/habit-of-surrendering-long-runs-bites-bills-again-in-loss-to-jets/article_2db4604a-5141-11ee-87fd-d32fe19c16d2.html
  4. Boom! This! https://www.niagara-gazette.com/sports/habit-of-surrendering-long-runs-bites-bills-again-in-loss-to-jets/article_2db4604a-5141-11ee-87fd-d32fe19c16d2.html
  5. I’m suggesting that there is a flaw in the scheme or personnel that allows this to happen every year. I have seen Bills teams in the past where this does not happen. I’m also willing to bet that this does not happen to every team, though I have no proof.
  6. Did you all realize that since McD has taken over we've had a running back break a long run every year? Dalvin Cook last year, Damian Harris (NE now with Bills), Derrick Henry, Miles Sanders, can't think of the running back from Washington that did it...I don't see this happening with any other team so consistently. Just an observation.
  7. Loaded with whom? Hines was the only guy on our offense that had any real speed. Now he’s gone. Our lack of speed will be our crutch this year and I blame Beane for not doing anything about it.
  8. I never called Zay a failure, just that he didn't work out in Buffalo. It was a bit eye opening to look at some of our 2nd round picks that haven't really emerged.
  9. We drafted Zay Jones in the second round and he didn't work out. When I think about it: Jones, Ford, Dawkins, Espinoza were all 2nd round picks. We don't seem to do well in round 2.
  10. This is true with one exception: when Wade Phillips was the DC and Ted Washington was at nose tackle when we ran the 3-4 defense.
  11. To this point, I think we are seeing the effects of Daboll’s absence. Last playoff season the Bills offense was crisp and mistake free - Josh threw no interceptions nor made this many questionable throws. Dorsey is still learning the nuances of being an OC and I believe he’ll get better; it’s just unfortunate that he doesn’t have that luxury during the playoffs. Also, he’s not as creative as Daboll. It seems that every 3rd down for 5 or more yards we go with the “empty” set (five wide receivers). In its formation we’ve seen many times how when a play breaks down that Josh is able to run. But lately teams have adjusted to this which is why he’s had limited success scrambling. Why don’t we employ Gilliam and Morris more? I think they can create mismatches. These are just my observations and in no way am I an expert. One more thing - I think for the first time in a long time the offense actually ran the ball on 4 consecutive plays. They need to do more of this in my opinion.
  12. Players were concerned about playing too many pre-season games and risking injury. Well, it doesn’t seem like its much of a difference in injury rates.
  13. Two words - Cody Ford - 2nd round pick. It’s not about the round of the pick, it’s about performance. I wonder if maybe that’s the one area Beane doesn’t evaluate well….your thoughts.
  14. If I’m right, Singletary will be a free-agent? If so, I don’t think he’ll be resigned. Then, enter Cook. So maybe they’re thinking ahead. I’d like to hear your thoughts
  15. Don’t forget Zay Jones - 2nd round pick
  16. Do we still have Isaiah Hodgins? I know he's been hurt but I remember reading that he was having a great training camp last year and was consistently getting behind the defense. I think if he stays healthy and the maturity of Stephenson that we will have a fair amount of speed on offense - usable speed, and not just fast. What are your thoughts?
  17. Are our skill players average, or is it that they aren’t as fast as the Chiefs?
  18. I was having a conversation with another Bills fan earlier this year who was trashing Singletary. I remember his rookie year when he led the NFL in yards per carry. My argument was that his ability didn’t just disappear, so something else was wrong. When you only got to carry the ball 9 times a game at the most, you can’t be expected to be effective. I’m glad to see us FINALLY use him properly.
  19. The kid is a rookie - he has to learn just like all other rookies. Just think about how some of our recent rookies - 1st and 2nd round picks - have performed in their rookie season? This dude has potential - elite speed. He’ll get there.
  20. Is Isaiah Hodgins still around? I thought he might be the answer for a physical receiver if he ever gets healthy.
  21. I agree with you. He’s the only speed threat that we have on offense, and unfortunately we don’t have room on our roster for a true speed receiver because of the logjam.
  22. Hey Virgil. I appreciate all that you do and I also look forward to your post every week. Those of us that have respect for you and this forum understand that life happens, and it doesn’t always ask for our permission. I hope all well and i’ve got your back.
  23. If my memory is correct, Singletary lead the league in yards per carry his rookie year. In my mind, you don’t just lose this kind of ability. I agree our line is grossly inadequate. But I don’t like our running scheme - zone blocking. I feel like it doesn’t fit our personnel. Any thoughts?
