It is cherry picking if you only include some of his games and not all of them.  I even ignored the playoff game but that is him too.  I do agree we can't afford to make the Dorsey mistake again though.  This isn't even fully his offense. Its the same offense with some tweaks and casual changes over time.  An OC really needs an offseason to install an offense.

Im not even saying he is the guy.  Im just saying that its not fair to pick only a portion of his games and ignore the higher scoring ones.  Thats disingenuous

The reason I picked the last 4 games was that I felt that they were games where he's had an opportunity to put his philosophy into the game plans in more detail. I don't disagree with you otherwise.

They continuously put up high scores against “stout/good” defenses…. The offense isn’t near as basic and they attack in different ways, often. It’s more than unleashing Allen.

I agree it's a more well rounded offense. But any oc worth his salt should accomplish that with the talent available.

    Maybe he's the guy,  I don't know.

Why would you only include the last 4?  Thats not his entire body of work.  You can't just cherry pick games.  Teams are up and down all season. Brady is 27.42 ppg on the regular season since he took over.  Thats good enough for top 5 in the NFL and 2 ppg out of 1st.

    Yeah I agree

It's not cherry picking,  I agree is an inexact science,  but it's also after he's had an opportunity to put his stamp on the game.

I'm not crapping in the guy,  but we can't afford to make the Dorsey mistake again.

Honest question (and not to throw shade at Brady) . What qualities are the Falcons seeing in Brady as HC material? He has been the OC for just a few games (I realize he has history but it's not too flattering).

I would think that teams want to see more of a track record before considering a coordinator for their top job.

    That's a good question.

My guess is having any sort of success with a very good organization looks great on a resume. He's clearly helped Josh during the 2nd half of the season.

I'd rather Joe Brady than Frank Reich. Every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

If Brady were to go the two established guys I'd want to interview are Bieniemy and Kellen Moore.

Arthur Smith is a good OC who is out there but he isn't a fit here for Josh and the offense we want to run.

I think Moore is getting HC interviews, so he might be tough to get,  but I'd like him too.  Chances are he'd be one and done though.  We'd win our 2nd straight super bowl and he'll definitely get a HC job.

  6. If McDermott thinks he's the best option, I'd trust him.  I just don't want to use the same logic as before.  I questioned the Dorsey hiring at the time,  and I would question this if they didn't at least see if there are better options available.

We haven't been lighting up the scoreboard under Brady, and this is an amazing opportunity that many coaches would jump at.  I'm just saying to take advantage of the opportunity and hire the best available OC, be it Brady, Reich or someone else.

    lol, rhetorical question

Just curious how you respond to posts when  pretty much everytime a black assistant gets an HC interview and some asshat immediately dismisses the interviewee as a Rooney Rule candidate. Happened quite a bit earlier this week when Frazier was interviewed.

We’d have to assume they can bring in the right guy. They’ve missed before and were fortunate enough to have made the good to decision to have Brady on staff.

I don’t consider Brady leaving a tremendous opportunity. I consider Brady having a full offseason and year with Allen a tremendous opportunity.

Another OC just creates more learning and lack of consistency for Allen. Really NOTHING seems appealing about Brady leaving.

Didn't we use that logic with Dorsey too? It's not like our offense has been lighting up it, it's just that Brady loosened the reigns on Allen, which any of us would have done the same. I'm not ragging on Brady, but I'm not overly impressed and would love the opportunity to get a great, established OC.

Yes actually that has been said. I'm too old to know how to find the quote or the clip. If you are of a younger and more computer savvy check out the morning show on ESPN with "Evan, Canty and Michelle" from last Friday. They were laughing and giggling  and hoping the Bills would lose and the turn over machine Josh Allen would be to blame.

Evan, the Patriots fan was/is the worst.

Trust me, as 48 year season ticket holder nobody and I mean nobody is enjoying this win streak more than me. I've been around for the good the bad and the ugly. Back in the early days we didn't have social media, 24 hour sport talk with so many idiot talking heads just trying to get a click or a rise from fans. It is so successful because it works. As I said I try to ignore it but it is hard to get away from it. I will defend our Bills when these type of accusations Pi** me off. I try not to be like them, I'm not adding that word, I heard it with my own 68 year old ears.

Thank you Sir. I wish I could have made my point as well as that. You DA Man!

    I said no serious person.

I hope the bills plan to involve cook and Kincaid all game long this time against KC

In the regular season they targeted them and kept them involved in the first half then I don't know if either got a target in the second half

Kincaid needs to be featured. He's a big play receiver.

He actually hasn't. Whether you are a fan of PFF or not Torrance has been graded out among the worst starting guards in the NFL this year and has definitely looked like a major liability as the season has went on.

I also felt that for as much praise this oline has played this year, they were terrible against the Chiefs the first time and haven't looked stellar overall down the stretch sans the Cowboys game....but we all know how misleading that was in hindsight considering what happened to the Cowboys in the playoffs.

Does this mean they can't come out and dominate the line of scrimmage against the Chiefs? No...but to say they have their work cut out for them will be an understatement.

He's definitely struggling as of late.  I'm very concerned about our line overall.

Can Dorian Williams make a miraculous play for us in a key moment - an INT or fumble recovery? I'm having visions and haven't been drinking or taking drugs

I'm a big fan of Williams.  Thought he looked great in preseason,  really solid last week.  He flys all over the field and is a very aggressive tackler.

Not a lot of experience but dynamic abilities.

I try so hard not to listen or care what outsiders say about the Bills but this week has been hard for me to ignore the idiots and excuse makers as to why the Bills were able to beat the Steelers.

One narrative is, the Bills were supposed to beat Pitts because they had injuries to their best player. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Bills also are dealing with injuries. The Steelers would not have even been in the playoffs if they hadn't squeaked out a win against the 3rd stringers that the Ravens fielded the week before.

Mike Tomlin is a great coach. Is he really, So what if wins during the regular season, he's a loser in the post season of late. He so smart he made the decision to go with Mason Rudolph! well if he's so smart why did it take him 14 games on inept offense with Trubisky and Pickett before making the change to  the guy who had been on the team for the last 5 years or so.

Pitts got a break because they cancelled the game because of the pitts run game not being as good as the Bills. AHHH not so much.

They say, Josh Allen is a turn over machine he will cost the Bills.  He definitely has his share of picks but the dude is a player. I ain't getting rid of him for any other QB in the league.

I don't know if the Bills are going to the Super Bowl let alone win it but I know at 6-6 they were written off as underachievers. I thought it was close to over at 6-6 and I am the most optimistic Bills fan to ever live, they proved me wrong, shame on me.

See you all on Sunday, rain, snow, cold, wind Tay or no Tay. I so want this game, please be loud and proud!

They're killin me Whitey, They're killin me!   GO BILLS

Nobody serious said that Allen is a turnover 'machine'. I think Bills fans add that word to get themselves more upset.

Allen having turnover issues is a valid criticism.

Also, many pundits are picking the Bills to win this weekend also to get to the Super Bowl.

Stop looking for reasons to get mad, enjoy the 6 game win streak and huge home playoff game against a great rival.  Doesn't get much better than this.

Before the Steelers game I had heard he had a calf & achilles strain which is typically a 1-3 game absence depending on how severe. But haven't gotten any updates on him.

Harty in recent weeks has shown off some of the speed we thought we were getting when we signed him. I agree I think he could be a bigger factor down the stretch than anticipated. It may have just taken him time to recover from his turf toe and now he's closer to 100%. Obviously he broke that punt return against the Dolphins, but he also almost broke his catch for a long TD against the Steelers. We need players that can create plays like that.

It took 18 games to finally get him the ball past the line is scrimmage. They telegraphed every play to him before Monday's game. He could be a big play guy Sunday.

this is even more insane. Forcing an organization to interview someone based on their ethnicity/skin color.  How can anyone be sure they are a serious candidate and not being used?

I don't think there is a perfect solution. Unfortunately, decades of not even considering interviewing minority candidates has brought this on.  Organizations used to only interview white people and many of them were really awful coaches, but they were white and they gave them an unfair advantage.  Even a minor attempt to level the playing field is a step forward. And it's not like the coaches they are interviewing are unqualified, they have to be almost perfect, while crappy, white coaches get multiple opportunities.

    He's a Rooney Rule interview

Besides interim coach Pierce, the Raiders have interviewed 2 other minority coaching candidates. Are all 3 of them just to satisfy the Rooney rule or are do you just assume black coaches aren't deserving of an interview based on their abilities?

Wondering if McD/Beane feel it would cause too much controversy and distractions for players ahead of the game....

I think it's as simple as he's never taken a snap in the NFL, never punted or held in a game. It's a huge risk to bring someone like that in such an important game.

Sure - the point is that when he does get in, he is going to be playing with a shoulder injury that (if it is in fact a torm labrum) probably has a pretty high likelihood of impacting his performance and/or causing issues and taking him out if it gets re-injured/aggravated.  Will have to see how it plays out

    That's not the point.

If he plays,  he's probably healthy enough to be effective,  else they wouldn't play him.

  19. 12 hours ago, stevewin said:

If Dodson is a torn labrum as rumored even if he comes back he's likely going to be a shell of himself - and if he takes direct hits on the shoulder it could pop out and/or debilitate him pretty quickly

I thought I heard McDermott say that Dodson was closer to playing yesterday than Douglas, and Douglas says he's ready to play next week.

No offense, but this is an absurd suggestion.  If the Bills need a punter it's not going to be a guy who has never had punted in a regular season game.

This should be real obvious to any football fan.
