I’m ok with this…. Pretty much expected it since we beat the Cowboys.
I’m more interested in who they hire as the DC. We need a new defensive philosophy more than we need a major change in Offense.

Thats kinda like acknowledging water is wet. The defense did absolutely nothing against KC. To be fair, he should’ve said, “the defense sucked balls against KC and we’re going to look at a new DC that can run different schemes because this revolutionary McD defense has gotten us booted from the playoffs for 4 consecutive years.”
it just sucks that after 6 years And desperately needing offensive weapons and a new center in the draft… It feels like we
need to draft/sign players at every position on defense. Thats how bad they were.

As I lay in bed after a crappy night’s sleep thinking to myself ..why do I keep doing this? I genuinely thought we could win yesterday. But with that thought also came my thoughts of… I knew we needed to score a TD before the half. Because Andy Reid was going to make adjustments and we wouldn’t. So we needed at least a 2 score lead to have a chance. And secondly, I know the FG try was technically the right call under 2mins. But there’s not a fan among us that truly thinks we could have held KC with that much time on the clock. We needed to go for the TD, regardless, just to give ourselves a chance.
So, with all that said, there’s no way we should just walk back the same team and staff next year. It’s been too long and we’ve seen the same mistakes over and over. I’m not necessarily advocating for a 100% dismantling. But we need, at a minimum, new OC, DC and Special Teams coach.
Other than Shakir, all new WRs. A RB that can catch. A new center, maybe RT. On Defense, we need several new DL, at least half of them need to go. We have Oliver, Jones, and Epeneza and Rousseau. ? That’s about it. All new secondary, and better LB depth incase Milano doesn’t return to form.
So what’s that.. a 70% rebuild? It needs to be significant. I know they can’t do that all in one year… but maybe? I’d start with the coaches and go from there. Yeah next season we suck… but the results will be the same… watching Mahomes and whoever else run all over is the playoffs really isn’t that much fun.

The Bills lost this game because they were one-dimensional. Except this time, it was the running game that was their one dimension. The jumbo set was unstoppable all game until KC stacked the box, making themself vulnerable to getting beat over the top - the Bills were looking for that. The 3 shots they did take were all there, they were executed on all levels by everyone but the receiver. Maybe with Davis (or a legit #2) they hit one. Maybe hitting one, they win the game.

And that’s it…. Every team in the league has WRs that can catch those passes, the Bills do not. Heck even that MVS dude with KC made an awesome over the shoulder catch downfield while being blanketed by Taron… and all I’ve heard about that dude is how bad he sucks.

This team had injuries. Those injuries mattered. But at the end of the day if one or two guys make a play we are headed to Baltimore
IMO, this sums it all up. The Bills do not have any playmakers. When needed most, everyone not named Allen or Shakir came up small.
We just don’t have any WR that can catch a contested ball. We don’t have a defensive line that can generate any pressure. Cook for all his ability, just came up small.
Another year ends the same as the last 4. Why? The Bills coaches can’t make adjustments and get out schemed. And we don’t have players that can overcome that and just make a play when it’s needed most.

Completely disagree. You do all the runs and short stuff….to set up those down field plays. It worked perfectly! And Josh made perfect throws .. and Sherfield, Diggs, and cook dropped them. Again!

I do wish Josh threw the ball underneath to Diggs at the end there as we needed one more first down to ensure we wouldn't give the Chiefs much time at all if we had to kick the FG, and the kick would have been closer.
I’d settle for a WR that can actually catch the *****in ball that hits him in the *****in hands! ***** separation… these guys can’t catch

I just came here to say…. Beane better get some damn receivers that catch the *****in ball when it’s lands perfectly in both their *****in hands. I am so *****in sick of seeing the opposition make perfect *****in receptions with perfect *****in coverage… and our receivers drop ***** that literally hits both of their *****in hands.
And cut Bass. Wtf.

It never fails… no matter how crappy the QB or how average the WR…. every game they make 1 or 2 throws or catches that has me shaking my head and wondering… why can’t our receivers adjust and make a catch like that!
Diggs is the only one that occasionally makes that amazing play. Everyone else… they need the ball placed perfectly. And even then, I’m often surprised when they don’t drop it.
If this teams lacks anything… it’s playmakers that elevate their game and make that seemingly impossible play. Outside of Josh we have no one on offense or defense that does that consistently.

I was at the 13 second game…
same endzone that Josh performed miracles in the 4th quarter. All I can say is I don’t know how loud it is on the field, but 30 or so rows up… that place was deafening! When Josh was down there doing his thing… I couldn’t hear anything, the stands were literally shaking making it hard to even see clearly. I have no idea how the offense could operate in that environment. But they did!!
I hope the Chiefs get a taste of that on Sunday! I won’t be there, but I hope Bills Mafia brings it and makes it just as deafening and hostile as they made it for our boys!
We’ve all waited 2 years for this! Bring it and take no prisoners!!

It's truly annoying. We lost one game we should have lost in the AFCCG, and then lost to a coin flip.
If we get the W Sunday - the narrative should shift significantly. It will likely become that KC has NOT won since 13 seconds, can't beat the Bills in the regular season, and can't beat the Bills in the playoffs anymore.
Looking forward to that narrative.
This is absolutely a legacy type game for Buffalo. 4 consecutive divisional round games. The last 2 they lost. Haven’t beaten Mahommes in the playoffs.
The Bills are easily one of the top 2, maybe # 1 depending upon which metrics you use, teams in the regular season for the last 4 years. But, they have to get over this playoff hump. This is the year to do it! Beat Mahommies, get to the AFCCG! Do that and its no longer just Bills Mafia saying Josh is the best. Do that and you quiet all the critics that say McD can’t get it done.
The entire season has been about this game. Take it! Advance and send KC home to watch you play next week. (…then next week becomes the legacy defining game. lol )

Agreed. If Douglas is playing, and healthy, I’m not terribly worried about Rice.
My concern with their run game is if/when the run outside. That will pretty much negate our stout DTs. Hopefully, McD realizes they’re going to try and run outside the tackles and comes up with a solid counter that doesn’t include leaving Kelce one on one with a LB.
if they can’t stop the outside runs and/or let Kelce release off the line untouched… it’ll be a long game. Surely we’re game planning to stop all that.

The blocked FG and near 30yard chase back to jump on it was a huge momentum shift in the game. It gave the Steelers life and reinforced the notion that if they could get one more turnover they could steal a win.
Had Bass made that kick, the game was over. Instead, it lifted the Steelers and signaled the dog fight that was the 3rd quarter.

With all due respect, it would be nice to see all sorts of financials from billion $ industries and individuals. But that’s not for us lowly people. We just live in this world, they control it. We don’t see price breakdowns from simple government funded projects, no way we’d ever see something here.

I still say they did an awesome job in every way to pull that game off.
The city, the team and the people of western New York are the standard for all other cold weather teams!

Agreed, and perhaps in contrast to my statement above, I think the team should just do more to game plan for the weather. Better planning, year in and year out with bus schedules clearly posted and set for every game so that just becomes a routine for some. They also need a means to more easily clear snow from the seats? Heaters throughout the stands? There’s plenty of ideas to toss out. But, it seems apparent that they should build some sort of plan into handling snow and fan access to and from the stadium into the new stadium.

I look at it the other way… the league needs to be smart when they schedule games. I know you can never 100% predict the weather. But they don’t consider weather at all, it seems.
KC shoulda been the early game yesterday. And Houston, playing in a dome, the night game. There’s a world of difference between freezing temps at 2pm vs 8pm. And it’s even more dramatic when you consider 10ish pm when the game ends and then fans have to drive home. But we all know why KC was the primetime game.
Even more so… had they considered the long range forecast last week when making the schedule, I would bet Saturday looked like less snow for Buffalo than Sunday. Had the game been played yesterday rather than today… it goes off with no real concern.
Maybe eventually they’ll wise up and consider more than just TV ratings in their scheduling, but I doubt it. The networks pay too much. So I don’t see this as a Buffalo problem but a league problem for not considering the very real impact that weather has on a game and fan attendance.

I’ve often felt the Bills were working on this type of offense all season long. It’s not always looked pretty either. But, I think they realized with all the bad weather last year, that they need the ability to do this and not always be a vertical passing type offense.
IMO, this is when we start to see the fruits of all the poor offensive production this season. If we can run the ball effectively, pass to TEs and RBs out of the back field and just move the ball on Sunday… we’ll finally have the type of team that can win in any kind of weather or stadium.

To be fair… last year was a record year for snowfall in that area. They get a lot of snow, no doubt! But, last year was definitely above average and there were several snow events that were just insane. Hence when all the mountain snow melted in the spring, Tulare Lake appeared in central CA for the first time in quite some time.

The Bills have made a concerted effort to be better at running the ball all season and be able to grind out wins in bad weather. This is the week we find out how much progress they’ve genuinely made.
I don’t think any person familiar with football can see this game as a win for Pittsburgh. Hence, Bills are heavy favorites. Yes, we all know the Steelers could win. Any team can beat any other team in the modern NFL. But, let’s be clear, that would be the upset of the weekend.
I just hope they don’t move the game and screw it all up. And affect the next week game!

Babich seems like one of the up and coming young coaches in the league. So in that sense, this should be good. However, he’s also been part of an organization that can’t seem to play with the big boys in the playoffs.
So, what is he going to do differently from what has been done for the last 5 or so years to help us get over the hump? Is he going to be able to adjust and find a way to beat teams like the chiefs or a hot bengals team in the playoffs?
As someone that experienced every horrible game and offseason move since our last Super Bowl visit, I’m not in a hurry to blow up the staff or roster. However, they simply cannot keep returning with the same philosophies and game plans and expect to ever get past teams like the Chiefs. There needs to be some serious self assessment and changes made. So far… can anyone say we’re seeing that?
