1. Does anyone know how much MW's contract can be cut(terms of the nflpa) without extending the contract beyond the 2 remaining years. I realize he would have to agree to the terms, but I'm not in favor of extending his contract in order to make it cap friendly and if he can't/won't take a salary reduction of at least 1/3, it's time to show him the door and move on.

  2. The bottomline is this is Ralph's team, he put up the money to get the franchise, he brought Buffalo the Bills, if he wants to sit in the War Room on draft day he has every right to do that.

My guess is all he wants is to be informed, and TD was to arrogant to do that.  TD probably was acting like he owned the Bills and made all decsions w/o taking to the man that writes the checks.  If I was the owner I would get tired of that behavior as well, especially in light of the on field performance.

I have no problem with RW "sitting" in the war room, but that's not what it sounds like in the quote from the first post in this thread.

  3. Why wait until midweek? Ralph needs to get the axe out today and start the chopping ASAP. Happy New Year TD.....chop! Same to you Modrak...chop! Happy New Year Guy....chop! Take those trick plays and stick them up your A$$ MM...CHOP :P

Happy New Year Chuck Lester....here is your end of year $50,000 bonus and a 20 year contract extension!

  4. Bingo.  Here's a big problem, IMO:

    Brad Roll

Read the guy's bio.  He's a weightlifting guy...not one word about conditioning, nutrition, etc. which was Rusty Jones' forte.  The team has repeatedly tired in the second half of games this year and many players just don't look like they have much stamina.

Another strike against MM for bringing this guy in at the expense of a HOF conditioning guy.    Oh, the humanity.....

    548481

TD should have stepped in and showed some loyalty to Rusty Jones. Instead MM was allowed to shove him into a corner to the point where he quit and went to Chicago.

    F*** Brad Roll!

  5. This is B.S. Massive firings everywhere today but Buffalo!

Be patient you Patsie troll...TD is packing as we speak, JG & TC are interviewing for positions on Turner Gill's UB staff & MM is probably staying, but he should be joining fellow former TE Mike Tice in the unemployment line.

By the way for all the star power that Modrak and Guy get as GREAT TD hires, WTF have they done?

  6. I didn't see RW's comment as meddling...I just think he wants to know the players the front office is targeting so he can have some imput on the discussion.  Ralph's a pretty knowledgeable football guy for an owner and I don't think he likes to be kept in the dark.

You have scouts and front office people spending hundreds of hours pouring over film and workouts of the draftees. What is RW possibly going to add to what has already been compiled? Granted he is the owner and has the ultimate say, but I don't see anything he can bring to the table that hasn't already been covered by his football staff.

  7. Excerpt from the link below...

With the Bills trailing, 30-26, McGahee broke a 17-yard gain, his longest of the day, putting the Bills on the Jets' 34-yard line with 4:05 to play. He took himself out after that play and never carried the ball again. Operating out of the no-huddle, the Bills ran Shaud Williams for a 1-yard loss and had three futile pass plays.

McGahee said he took himself out because the Bills were in the hurry-up offense and he got tired. Why were the Bills in such a hurry? They began that possession at their own 36, with 5:55 to play. They had plenty of time. If running the no-huddle forced their best running back out of the game at a crucial time, was it really worth it?

This was only the 3rd play in the series and neither of the first two were carries by WM. How can you be tired? WTF is up with this guy?

    ;)

  8. Some time over the summer, I predicted the Bills would hold training camp at St. John Fisher. The Bills would play 16 regular season games this year. 8 at home and 8 on the road. Sometimes they would wear blue jerseys and sometimes they would wear white. In every game they play there will be a winner and a loser. I got a lot of heat for this post and I just wanted to say I WAS RIGHT!!!

  9. What did JP do to Eric in the Miami game?  Not throw to him, and instead throw to Lee for 3 TD's.  Yeah, what an ahole!  I could MAYBE see him throwing a tantrum if JP were ignoring him when he was wide open and drives were stalling, but come on!  And the Pats game was a combo of missing Eric (like the 2nd half of the Miami game) plus the after-effects of blowing a HUGE lead to a division rival, not to mention JP getting injured early.  And it's not like the defense could have stopped the Pats ANYWAY, even if the offense weren't crap.

EM's rant after the Miami game was one of the phoniest I have ever heard. When was the last time a WR was crying about his team not running the ball enough. LE was in the spotlight and EM didn't like it, but instead of saying what was really on his mind, he came out with the lame crap about not running the ball enough. Goodbye EM.

  10. If I never see another "Jim Kelly would make a great coach" thread(which seem to pop up here on a regular basis), I would be a happy camper.

He has never coached at any level, shows no interest in being a coach, so therefore why would he make a great coach? Because he ran a no huddle offense....whoop de do!

    :doh::(

  11. Unless the inmates are running the ayslum(which is a possibility considering the way this season has played out), who cares if the players back Holcomb. Holcomb has about as much upside as the QB who the Bills brought to training camp year after year and who DB was so upset about when they finally cut him. His name escapes me for good reason.

  12. For those who may be interested, here is a link to the press conference with Ward Manuel(new AD) and Turner Gill...

    http://stream.buffalo.edu/insecure/shared/...ill_Presser.wmv

They tried an asst. from a big time progam(Craig Cirbus) and a HC from Div 1-AA(Jim Hofher) who both failed. Now they turn to a coach without HC or coordinator experience.

Who knows how it will work out.....a few years back UB gave the basketball job to a relative unknown even here in WNY and look how that turned out.

  13. Mike Williams is one great offseason away from being a top 3 RT in the NFL.  I hope now he sees that he needs to drop some weight to stay healthy. He should try and get down to around 355lbs.  He could help us out so much if he just lost 10-15lbs.

    543930

If after 4 years of being overweight, he has not had the desire/motivation to lose some weight(and I believe he needs to lose more than 10-15 pounds), I see no reason to believe why he would change now. It's time to turn the page and get out from underneath his HUGE cap hit.

  14. So when Willis McGahee says he's the best, I'm not so certain he's full of it. McGahee can be a great player and he's a better power runner than LT.

    543797

You're kidding right? If you are saying that you would rather have WM instead of LT, you need to watch some Charger football.

Not only is LT a FAR superior player, WM has been in a funk most of this year, above and beyond mediocre OL play. I am starting to believe that when MM called out WM for hesitating too much earlier this year, that WM just started running where the hole should be, whether there is a hole there or not. The OL play this year is on par with last year, but WM has not been anywhere near as effective as he was in 2004.
