But you can blame him for not taking the easy 1st down to Diggs which would’ve chewed up the clock and given us a 1st down. Even if we scored on the pass to shakir, KC would’ve had plenty of time to score
Ya but there is no guarantee we get a TD if we just got a first down there. Or bass to make the kick if we don't get a TD.. (clearly lol)
Wide open TD pass, I think you have to take it

This will always be debated, and both sides have an argument.
I am on the side that you take the touchdown if it's there.
He just got knocked off his spot enough to alter the throw that he missed
Who knows what happens if he takes Diggs underneath. We will never know
Thank you...
People just assume we are automatically going to get a TD there if we played for the 1st down
Imagine if we got the 1st down , get stopped after, and then bass shanks a 33 yarder? (Which would have been very possible)
People would be losing their minds and say why didn't they go for the TD when Shakir was wide open

Not a huge BB guy at this point but if there's one thing I do know it's this..
They win this game if he was the coach as he would actually have an answer for the chiefs "average" offence that McDermott made look elite again

Mahomes wouldn't have any TOs. 13 seconds happens because the Chiefs have TOs and the Bills defend the sideline.
30 seconds with no TOs and you have to go 45/50 yards. I'll take that risk over him having 2 TOs and 2 minutes needing a TD.
Think this way: He needs to go about 1.5 yards per second to beat the Bills with it tied. Or he needs .5 yards per second to beat the Bills with the Bills winning by 4. That's the logic.
But it still doesn't make sense to me.
Up 4 with a chance to win in regulation
Or..
BEST case scenario overtime...
There shouldn't even be a debate to what the better option is.

It's not even about getting a TD later. You simply cannot give the ball back to Mahomes. Even if that means a closer FG then that's the play. I would rather the Bills tie it with 30 seconds left then give it to Mahomes with 2 minutes left
You would rather be tied with 30 seconds left (when Mahomes has shown he only needs 13 seconds for a Fg) opposed to be winning by 4 with 1:50 left?
Respectfully, I do not understand that logic at all.
So best case scenario is OT and worst case is you lose on a game winning kick in regulation?..

That's a loss. Hell even Peyton Manning, when he was with the Colts, shaved the clock because he didn't want Brady to have time. Romo literally on the next play said the Chiefs should do Cover 0 because you don't want the Bills to run the clock.
Why do you/people assume the bills would automatically get a TD if they just played for the first down there?
And if they didn't get a TD, clearly we can't trust our kicker to tie it
Always take the touchdown -

It's the wrong play. The clock is more important than the TD here. If you score on that play you give Mahomes the ball back with 1:55 left and 2 TOs.
The pass to Diggs was it. You take the easy first and keep burning clock. You need KC to burn both their TOs and have about a minute left. Allen is the best when he takes what the defense gives him and that was the right play.... not the long TD.Just get the TD though.
thats the most important thing and the TD was there
clock is 2nd.
If someone told me bills are up 31-27 with a 1:53 left, I would take that over been down 27-24 having a first down at the 15 yard line with 1:53 left.

I'm not saying we don't need a kicker that can make that but he is what he is. He's a bottom of the barrel kicker. Knowing that, we needed to be smarter and put the game on Josh's shoulders. Designed runs if Cook isn't working or throws underneath
The problem is he isn't getting paid like one. Hes one of the top paid kickers in the league.
What would you have done there though, go for it on 4th and 9?
You have to take the points and bass has to make the kick to give your team a chance
-
Can't blame for Josh on that play.
That's an easy TD pass if he doesn't get hit

I'm saying we would have lost make or miss. Needed to run the clock and get a TD there. No reason to be throwing 30 yard passes into the end zone when things were wide open underneath
I'm not disagreeing with that. But it's a team game .
You have to make that kick to give your team a chance.
There is 0 excuse for Bass

Just now, KDIGGZ said:
That's besides the point? That's the whole point. Even if he makes it we lose the game. That's the entire point
So because they probably wouldn't have stopped Mahomes, that's an excuse for Bass to miss a 41 yard field goal is what you're saying?
-
Make the kick and do your one job
Hes what a 5.5 million dollar kicker?
Would the bills have stopped Mahomes? Probably not but that's besides the point.
Your 5.5 million dollar kicker HAS to make that kick

The Chiefs didn't sack Allen either. They lost by 3 points he didn't hand him his ass. It sucks big time but it wasn't coaching.
Andy Reid's offence vs Sean McDermotts defence. Andy Reid handed McDermotts ass to him once again.
There was no contest

Did no one see this coming when Dorian Williams and AJ Klein were starting at linebacker? When their best edge rusher never came back from an injury worth a damn?
They lost by 3 points!
So a few injuries at linebacker and we are going to excuse this horrible defensive performance?
0 sacks today.. Full D line was healthy
He got his ass handed to him again by Andy Reid, just call a spade a spade- 2

Diggs straight up screwed this team tonight, and even down the stretch
8 targets, 3 catches for 23 yards with one being a dropped 90 yard TD?
What a joke

Yes McDermott made Bass 25% in the playoffs. Think about that 25% has a kicker ever had a worse playoffs?
And still it's McDermott...God people.
That part isn't on McD.
But what about the defence?
Only reason there wasn't 40 plus points against his defence was because the bills offence controlled the clock.

I'll watch every single bills game till I die.
But this was definitely a tough one to swallow and it's a dejecting feeling
With McDermott, it's proven now that he can't beat Andy Reid/Mahomes in the playoffs

White, Milano, Rapp, Bernard, Benford, Spector.
Again, the talent level is not even comparable.
Dolphins were not missing two entire position groups either.
Ok 5. I listed 7.
Miami was missing all their edge rushers. Top 4

Still not as many. And the talent level of the injured players is massively tilted to the Bills. Like not even close.
How is that not as many?
It's an objective fact they had more starters out than the bills, there's no argument . Count them

Miami had nowhere near as many guys hurt. We're literally missing our entire starting LB and CB corps and half the backups.
Philips, Chubb, Van Ginkel, Deshaun Phillips, Jerome Baker, Howard. and Holland was playing with 2 bum knees
Plus rotational guys who were out
Way more than the bills

If we include Knox in the trade, that may bump us down to the 2nd round..
