  1. So tired of the “Josh needs to do more in the offseason” BS. He’s the only guy who consistently steps up in the playoffs where it matters most. Does anyone really think offseason work is going to affect his play after 18 games? Seriously? Give it a rest.

Yeah, he sht the bed against Cinci, so did the entire team including Diggs who’s yet to show up in an elimination game.

Who steps up regularly for us in the playoffs on O or D besides Josh?

  2. Too many people discount the importance of luck once you get to the playoffs. Teams are very evenly matched and all it takes is one weird bounce of the ball, one key defender to get dinged at the wrong time, etc.

Our O has been good enough to get to the SB for a couple years now. Josh plays outstanding in the playoffs even if there are bumps along the way in the regular season.

I think our downfall recently has been 1) Key defensive injuries and 2) Our “star” offensive/defensive players not stepping up and making a play in the playoffs when it needs to be made. Edmunds never made a play in 5 years, Von was toast last season, Oliver does a disappearing act every year in the playoffs, Bernard and Milano weren’t available and both are playmakers. Josh played well but Diggs drops a bomb, Sherfleid (not a star) drops 2 bombs. Josh can’t be the only guy on the team raising his game in the playoffs.

The difference between us and KC in the playoffs is Chris Jones pushing O-line back into Josh so he couldn’t step up and hit a wide open Shakir. KC defensive stars make plays in the playoffs, ours disappear or aren’t even on the field.

  3. Gabe’s a good dude. Hope he gets paid, just not by us. I’d give him 8 mil/yr to stay as a WR3 but he’d never take that, understandably.

We need a WR2 who can run all the routes and separate with enough potential to become WR1 when Diggs is done. I’m not a draft guru but I’d think we’d have to spend our first round pick or trade up in the 2nd to get a guy with that potential right out of the gate.

  4. Josh doesn’t have one guy who steps ups and makes plays when the game is on the line and a play has to be made, especially on defense.

Big time players make big time plays in big time games, and we don’t have any besides Josh.

One guy, as good as he is, can only take you so far.

  5. What a crock of sht.

I don’t think for one second if we had drafted Mahomes that we’d have a Super Bowl.

Except for his first experience against Houston, Josh has been MONEY in the playoffs. The guy has played more than well enough to win.

it’s the coaching and his teammates that have failed him. I think Mahomes is a better QB, but Allen is a better QB/leader for Buffalo.

Mahomes has had near HOF talent around him since day 1. Reid is the best play caller in football, Kelce is a phenom, Diggs disappeared.  Chris Jones shows up in the playoffs where Ed Oliver is MIA against KC. Trent Sherfield drops multiple bombs while MVS catches the game clinching bomb after dropping everything previous to that.

It’s up to Beane and McD to surround Allen with the talent to put them over the top. Can they do it? IDK. But they are close.

  6. Marino nailed it with his list of what losing in the playoffs reveals about your team

    1) No downfield WR threat

    2) Special teams blunders

    3) Disappearing defensive tackles (My opinion Ed Oliver completely no shows in the playoffs. Disgusting effort on his part)

    4) Too many defensive injuries

Game plan was good. Lack of explosive plays did us in.

Reid/Mahomes had a genius level gameplan to exploit our deficiencies due to injury.

McD tried Zone, tried man, tried 2 high, tried 1 high, tried blitzing. Reid/Mahomes picked apart every single combo. We just didn’t have the horses to slow them down.

  7. Going into the game, I really thought we were going to win.

After KC’s opening drive of the 2nd half, I knew we were done barring some miracle which never happens for the Bills. Our defense had ZERO answers. Reid/Mahomes did a masterful job of targeting our weaknesses due to injury. McD didn’t adjust soon enough to Kelce/Rice and our D line was a no show. Game over.

Thankfully, I got called in to do an emergency case after that drive so I didn’t have to experience the inevitable collapse except via my phone blowing up with distraught friends/family venting haha. It was almost a relief, I’m emotionally drained after this year.

    We are on to Cincinnati!

I thought he had major issues in coverage but it was too late in the game for Pittsburgh to take full advantage of it. Mahomes and Reid will have him circled.

By the same token I admit they may have Williams circled as someone that can be fooled with motions and other misdirection. No good answers here.

I think we are going to see a lot of 3 safety looks if McD doesn’t like how Klein/Williams look

If we can stop the run effectively with Poyer in the box, I think we win comfortably.

Agree with everything except the grit and character statement.

The Chiefs won a super bowl last year with Mahomes having one good leg. Their WR core wasn't good or strong last year as well. Their defense wasn't nearly as good as it is this year.

They are the champs and assaulting their character is a hand scratcher. Reid and Spags are considered by many to be at the top of their class. I don't get the lack of character and toughness allegations.

Oh please newcam give us a f’n break with this crap already. What’s the over under on Mahomes fake limp tomorrow? 2nd quarter? You are almost as big a Chief’s cheerleader as Filthybeast.

I’m not saying they are pushovers but they’ve never had to face adversity like we have in any capacity, let alone come back from a 6-6 record and win the Division. They’ve had a cake walk through their division for 5 years just like Brady had when the rest of the AFC East sucked. The one time the refs didn’t give them the Toney Offside call because WE ARE THE CHIEFS they had an absolute melt down so no, they don’t have character they are an entitled bunch of snobs. Both Mahomes on the sidelines and complaining to Josh and Reid in his press conference showed nothing but petulant complaining about the refs and gave the Bills ZERO credit. They were pathetic not gritty, no strength of character.

So give the team you claim to root for a little credit. In the grit, perseverance and toughness department we blow the Chiefs out of the water any day and hopefully twice on Sunday.

  10. I’m happy Toney is out. For as stupid as that guy is, he does have talent and speed and it would be very Billsy for him to turn it on against us in this game.

I’m telling ya, we are peaking at the right time and Josh is playing his best ball of the season right now.

I also like the fact that Brady is planning his second game against Spags. Spags is very very good but I think Brady will have an excellent game plan against him now that he’s gotten in the groove of being the OC. I suspect we will be running a lot and targeting their LBs. They can’t spy Josh, cover Cook out of the backfield and play disciplined coverage in the middle of the field all at the same time. That’s where we exploit them.

    Bills 31-17. Book it.

    You’re right, that wasn’t classy.

What I should have said is I hope Kelce catches an ice ball right in the nuts

Jesus people lighten up! It’s just a game Focker!

The stadium last week against Pittsburgh looked great on the national stage.  Snow celebrations shooting up into the air, very few snowballs.  But that was against a Pittsburgh team that is not really considered an enemy.  Against the hated Chiefs, I hope things don't turn ugly with some stupid fans pelting Chiefs players with iceballs, but frankly I could see it happening.  Not cool.

There will be snowballs. I hope Kelsey catches one right in his ugly dome and they show Swift crying in her suite

  13. This game all comes down to Josh.

If he plays like he did against Pitt, we win comfortably (no TOs, good decisions, smart running, taking the underneath stuff, timely shots downfield).

If we get Sugar High Josh, we still have a chance but it’s going to be a lot more stressful and come down to our D making some TOs.

I agree in the short term. It was an unlikely outcome of success.

However, the Bills should have never been in that predictiment.

So it cuts both ways here. McD deserves blame and credit. I think a lot depends on what happens this Sunday.

A loss will likely cause many Bills fans to be disappointed with McD. Similar to what Dallas and Pitt fans are saying and feeling about McCarthy and Tomlin.

A win vs KC and an AFC championship game is likely seen as a successful season win or lose.

After the Denver loss I was off the McD train. After 13 seconds I couldn’t contemplate having 12 men on the field that cost us the game. After the last 6 games I’m firmly back on (I never thought he would be fired even at 6-6)

McD should be up for coach of the year. He took a team that was floundering mid season at 6-6 and took a tremendous PR shot from the Dunn hit piece then completely turned the team around mid season. He’s showed tremendous growth which he always preaches. More aggressive defense, better game management especially on 4th down, and better challenge success. After the loss of Tre/Milano/Jones the D took a while to find its footing yet finished STRONG with backups to the backups making plays. The offense was struggling and he fired the OC mid season which couldn’t have been easy and installed a guy who turned it around. Yeah, you can say he deserves some of the blame for Dorsey but give me a break. Last year guys on here were worried he’d be poached for a HC gig.

This team is tough, gritty, battle hardened, and peaking at the right time ( as opposed to last year where they peaked early and limped into the playoffs)

I don’t think the result of this coming game diminishes in any way what McD has accomplished this season. Yeah, we need to get the monkey off our back but there are so many variables that go into one game, that doesn’t discount the previous 6 that saved the season and won us the division. Sure if we get blown out or there’s another 13 second coaching blunder that’s going to be an issue, but to lose to KC in a tight game will suck but not be an indictment on the coach.
