  1. IMO, Josh had way to many negative plays to be the MVP. He was just too inconsistent this year.

I personally think it should be CMC. 2000+ yards and 21 TDs is a very impressive season and he didn't even play the last game.

But it'll most likely be a QB, probably Lamar.

For someone who grew up with soccer as most Europeans do, I just can’t understand  why there needs to be a kicker and a punter and not just one guy doing both.

IIRC the Falcons tried having 1 guy do both a few years back and it did not go well. I'll try to find to guys name.

    *Edit*

His name was Michael Koenen and it was the 2006 season. Coming out of preseason he was to handle all kicking duties. After going 2-8 on FGs, they signed an actual kicker. I don't recall anyone trying to have 1 guy do both since.

  3. Is Kirksey still good? He did just get cut by Houston. I recall he had a few decent seasons a couple years ago but haven’t heard much from him since. I can’t imagine he plays special teams either.

If we did, who would we cut to make room for him?

  4. The streaming quality was better than I thought it would be.  I expected some week 1 hiccups but didn't have any issues at all.

The only slight gripe I may have is with the Redzone channel.  I thought they bounced around a little too much.  Like when Chargers were driving, I believe toward the end of the 1st half, and were actually in the Redzone but they left to show a kickoff in another game.  I don't think they missed a play but I found it a little annoying.

  5. I doubt Singletary wants to resign with us.  He averaged just over 10 carries a game this past season (which is ridiculous but that's for another thread).  About 30 backs had more carries than he did last year.  I think he'll go somewhere that says will give him the ball more.

I see Cook, Hines and a FA type back with some size.

  6. I was 12 during that 1st Super Bowl loss and still remember that feeling of overwhelming shock that we lost the game.  I couldn't believe it; I was just so sure we were going to win that game right up until the very end.  It really did help teach me to keep my expectations in check.

The last lines of the article really sum it up the best for me.

"I just feel fortunate to get to watch them play.”

That may be the best lesson of all.

I found it extremely interesting how Shakir has played such a limited roll in this season and now in the playoffs he’s utilized more. All of us have seen the potential upside of Shakir and questioned why he wasn’t targeted more. Was this done on purpose now? Added wrinkle for other teams to contend with last minute with little game planning? Thats a highly suspect take on my part but it would be genius.

I don't think this was part of some master plan.  Lil Dirty was injured and missed the game, Shakir is the next man up.  If #6 plays this week, #10 will go back to his typical snap count.

Ever wonder about the genesis of the term "Bills Mafia"?  What it meant at the start, early on, and now?

It started as the name Del Reid gave a group of Bills fans (including him) who had been blocked by Adam Schefter on Twitter for flaming him over his continued questioning of Stevie Johnson's crisis of faith because of The Drop.

As it grew, Reid wanted to make it philanthropic.  Others wanted to use it so they could have their 15 minutes of internet fame for jumping through tables.

Now it's all those things and more.

Simple: owners thought games on free local TV would kill attendance.  Thank the Redskins (Commanders, WFT) for getting the policy (it was never a rule) changed in 1973.  In 1972, the Skins had a great year, got all the way to the Super Bowl, but those without tickets in the DC area were shut out from watching home games.  Pressure from congress and even the Nixon White House, drove the NFL to put into effect a policy, where if a home game was sold out 72 hours before kickoff, the blackout would be lifted.  Who determined if a game was sold out?  The local team/owner of course.

Fast forward over 40 years and the policy was still in effect.  However, in 2015, in a under-publicized move, the NFL declared the 72 hour policy dead and that all home games could now be televised locally, regardless of ticket sales.  It was hailed as a good move for fans and teams alike because the more a team was on TV, the more people talked about them, bought t-shirts, mugs, bumper stickers, etc.

When it got close to the wire someone almost always stepped up and bought the remaining few thousand tickets so it would be on tv. Sometimes radio a station. Ralph did it a bunch of times.
