I stay at the Red Roof Hamburg.  Not a palace but an OK place to sleep for a couple of hours Saturday night/sunday morning

I miss the good old days of shooting the breeze at our campsites at Hammer's Lot until my wife hollered at us to shut up!

I think you, me, and Ken closed the Big Tree that night.

  2. The "build me a new stadium or I will take my team and go elsewhere" goes back to the Rockpile and Rich Stadium. They will work out a deal.

The topic comes up every couple years. If I am wrong, I am done with the NFL.

I am confident that a deal will be worked out and The Bills will stay in Buffalo. That said, who owns the Bills name, team franchise history and NFL records?

The Colts name, logo, and history moved with the team to Indianapolis.

The Browns retained all rights to their history with Cleveland.

The Colts history is with Indianapolis, with a just tip of the hat to the the city of Baltimore. who now have only Ravens stats.

That was my wife's family fish fry place on Fridays... She grew up in Lackawanna. Owner was Dan... FiL called him "Big Dan"... I believe when he passed away, the business closed. I think... Shortly after his passing. 😔

Dan used to play Santa at the Christmas party. Big Dan did not need any padding under his suit! 😁 It was a bar/restaurant but during dinner hours it was a real neighborhood pub. 😀 Many times after supper during the week when it was slower, the Moms would visit in the dining room while kids played and the Dads moved into the bar area. Early sixties reality was not Leave it to Beaver, but working class family values were strong. The building is not even there anymore.

  4. When I was a kid, the corner family pub in Hamburg on Lake Shore (Wanakah) was the Cloverbank Hotel. In those days it was common to have a family dining room, separated from the bar with a wall. We got mostly Fish Fries and beef sandwiches for dinner.

The way I remember it being ordered, beef on weck was a sliced beef sandwich on white bread with mashed potatoes, drowned in gravy. This was meant to be eaten with a fork.

Beef on Kummelweck then was what we know today as simply Beef on Weck, with the salty roll, but that was over 50 yeas ago .

  5. I guess I am an average fan, with some high points.

My father was a founder of the Buffalo Bills Boosters Club, Inc. in 1960. I wear his Boosters coat to snow games.

I went to many games at the Rockpile. I was escorted out of one game for throwing snowballs at the Dolphins.

I went to games during the 80's drought.

I watched the comeback game standing in a bar to the finish.

I have been with TBD since day one.

I have been to all but one or two TBDAHOTs and camped out at Hammers for several.

I am a cofounder of the WNYTBDGPS.

But I am not great at names and Jersey numbers. I do not go crazy about the draft, although I did get suite tickets in 2001 for the draft.

I am a Lot One Pole 6 veteran.

I do not post at TBD as often as I used to, but I enjoy the comments of those who have something to say.

I took the stage the year there was a band on game day and sang Funk 49 by the James Gang. There is something kind of cool hearing your daughter yell "Mom, Dad's on stage singing with the band. "

So I am an unusual average fan, I guess.

For the old timers that remember Cindy, she's in rough shape and would like some prayers that she'll pull through.

    Prayers for her well being.

I met you, Cindy, AiO, Jay, and many other TBD old timers at St. John Fisher training camp. I first met Jay when I wore a Bills Jersey with "Rockpile" on the back.  I met quite a few people when wearing that shirt! I am mostly a lurker these days.

I enjoyed watching Happy Days when I was a kid, but it’s unwatchable now. Laverne and Shirley can still make me laugh.

A lot of "old" television shows that were very popular, were really only good for one (sometimes two) seasons before they jumped the shark.

When I got seriously into listening to music in the mid-70s, I began to worry how far my favorite LPs would last; frequent playing tended to increase background noises. Thus, I got an AKAI reel-to-reel recorder and taped my LP collection. Using the tapes to listen to the music worked well for a while, but after several years I had to realize that that the sound quality of the tapes had deteriorated faster than that of the (now rarely used) LPs.

Also, threading that AKAI with new tape when you were stoned could take quite a while. 😁

    Drum Roll Please!

The total raised for the 2021 MS Walk was $ 906.50!

It was a very successful year as always.

We took no pictures just to piss off Jack. :nana:

We will be doing another virtual walk in Connecticut in a few weeks to see "Babyrock" and family. We may post some pictures then!

Thank you to my TBD sponsors:

It's time for my annual request of my friends at Two Bills Drive to sponsor me in a fund raiser to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

I do not post a lot anymore, but I have been lurking since day one of this web site. Hopefully we will meet for a Garbage Plate for the Home Opener again this year.

Many of you know I was diagnosed with MS way back in 1994, but thanks to advances in treatment that get better each year, I can live a relatively normal life. There was a time when a diagnosis of MS meant getting measured for a wheelchair, but things have greatly advanced sine then

Because of COVID-19 precautions, we will not be walking in large groups again this year. On May 15, 2021 we will be walking in a variety of ways to raise funds to help find the cure for Multiple Sclerosis. Since 2003 we have raised nearly $24,000 thanks to YOU! I would estimate that TBD has been responsible for close to 75% of the funds raised in the past.

Please support me by clicking on Family Rocks!

    Any amount helps!

100% of your donation goes to the MS Society.

God Bless and Thank you all!

MS Walk will be starting soon. It's not too late too sponsor me if you want. Thank you to those who contributed.

It has been a tough year.  I believe Rockpile has made his goal in all or most of the years he has participated in this. Lets keep this streak going.

So take the funds for that one Bills or Sabre seat, one beer and one piece of pizza and throw it his way.

    Thank You!

We have a goal of $1500, and (with checks being processed) we are up to $827.

The MS Walk is three days away.
