The segment on the players still being mad starts right around 8:44am for anyone looking for it.

Yeah if what Paul Hamilton was saying is true… yikes.

Paul describing a situation where the players never get over being booed and no one ever wanting to play in Buffalo again is special.  If Dahlin is really still bringing it up then he's not captain material.

I will watch every game like I do every year, but it was annoying when the body weight rule changed and they overcalled it on every pass rusher for breathing on the QB for 2-3 years.

This will be more of the same. They will overcall on things that AREN’T the type of play they are trying to legislate out of the game. It will ruin a couple games. I’ll still watch.

Name me one rule the officials don't get wrong and we can start from there as a establishing "the officials will get it wrong" as a valid reason not to try and protect players from themselves.

Nonsense. D and offensive players commenting on how ridiculous this rule is.

D and offensive players said it was ridiculous when they were no longer allowed to put the crown of their helmets on an opponents chin or drill them in the ear hole.  And then it was the concussion protocol that was ridiculous.  I'm sure helmet rules were once considered ridiculous yet the game has survived.

Do whatever it is that you need to do to cope.  Go out back and set all your NFL gear on fire, get on twitter and try to launch another NFL boycott, and get it all out of your system in time for the 2024-2025 season.  Besides, theres PSLs to rage about.

This really only effects bad tacklers and players who play with bad technique

This will not impact the game that much because there are not a lot of players who hip drop tackle regularly.. again it's kind of a poor technique thing

Some players don't want to square up correctly so they grab from the side and back and drop their body weight onto the opposing players lower body snapping their leg

That's not and has never been a good tackle.. always been semi dirty

The same way they did for a hundred years

You dive and grab there ankles or legs... You ankle pick them

Grabbing them from the back.. and using your leverage to drop down on them and take them down by snapping their legs is never been the way to tackle

Nahhh dude.  This hip drop thing which was never part of the game until recently is absolutely integral to the sport.  Without broken ankles it may as well be figure skating!

I think this is a very common attitude, but I'm not like that.  The Sabres are not even operating as a real, competitive, professionally run NHL organization.  If we are going to be a perpetual irrelevancy, move the team.  What's the loss?

Hockey is nothing close to the game I fell in love with as a kid anyway.  Much more boring product IMO.

Just finished watching us quit in the 3rd period of the Oilers game.  We're a long way from being a solid hockey team.

I think Granato has to go at this point, but he will NOT go.

If he's around next year, you'll know it's still business as usual in Sabre land.

What era did you grow up with?

  6. Forget about the playoff race.  Tonight's game is about so much more than that.  The Buffalo Sabres have NEVER beaten the Seattle Kraken.  The Kraken have lost to every other franchise in the league except for Buffalo.  This is basically 1970s Dolphins vs Bills or 2000-2020 Patriots vs Bills.  I haven't looked at the betting line but the Sabres have got to be the biggest underdogs since Rocky vs Apollo or USA vs the Soviet Team in 1980.  Its time to get this 10,000 lb gorilla off our backs.

He’s only 27? For some reason I had it in my head he’s in his 30s.

nice move! Thought he was hamstrung last season by bad quarterback play

I also immediately thought "isn't he old and always hurt?".  Hes 27 and has missed 2 games in the last 2 years.

They still have Kirk Cousins, a 36 year old QB coming off an Achilles tear, so that doesn't make a big difference. Ask Dan Marino how QB's typically look after one of those...and he was a better QB than Cousins ever dreamt about being as a kid.

Even a prime Kirk Cousins at any age is unlikely to get you out of the Wild Card round.

You need proof that a below average football player has a below average IQ?

All I'm saying is he better have first hand carnal knowledge or at least have filmed it if hes gonna call Siran a gay.

  10. I don't expect he will light the league on fire but this will be the first competent offense Hollins has been a part of since his time with Carr in Oakland.  Good size and speed which is something we have sorely been lacking.  There are a lot of nice catches in traffic and contested catches in his highlight reel.  He has an opportunity to carve out a role in Buffalo.

Maybe the old-timers were right back in the 30s, 40s, and 50s.  Lifting lots of weights may not be conducive to staying healthy and flexible enough to play baseball.

The wear and tear of a 162 game schedule, compared to the 17 game NFL season, IMO is more about flexibility and endurance and less about raw power.

Then again, I still love my 1920s/30s/40s/50s era Yankees when Pete Sheehy was the equipment manager and poor athletic training was the norm.

Full tar cigarettes, greenies, and a case of beer was all they needed to stay limber and fit back then.
