  1. If you field the defense that was really coming into form through week 4 and this game is a Bills drubbing.  At worst a really solid handling of the chiefs.  The fact that the score was even that close is a testament to OUR coaching making the most of the table scraps that were available on defense.  This was not a coaching issue in the least, but yeah, bills lost, McClappy Bad!

  2. Josh Allen will win a superbowl, just not in a Bills uniform.

For reference, the Harlem Globetrotters play an exibition "championship game"  against the Washington Generals.  Even the washington Generals have knotched victories in their history.

64 seasons, 0 NFL titles.  I love the Bills, will watch them regardless, but have virtually no expectation of a championship.

  3. you want to move away from a head coach who twice shut down the NFL's best offense, ranks near the top in total defense and allowed less than 18 poitns per game, ALL WHILE doing so with 25% of his staters injured, to.... Vrabel?

    I really sometimes.....

Heard this statistic on Locked on Bills:

Josh Allen is dead last in the league last the last four games in completion % and passer rating when facing NO pressure.

There's always a million excuses for Josh when he struggles.  He simply needs to be better.  We have a top defense in place, a good oline, and a strong run game.  With elite QB play we should be in a much better position, the passing offense should be the least of our worries.

I really don't disagree with you at all.  I have said the only games Josh has looked like Josh this year were against the Dolphins and Eagles.

Its always been easier for this offense to operate with those standard slot route, but Josh was always looking for the bigger play

But things have changed this year...Allen has been working on the mindset to take what the defense gives....that role would be exactly what would help this offense move.

    Right? Or no?

Has that not been Shakir's role this year?  I can't say for sure if his routes are the same though...

After watching the offense slog along yesterday I wanted to go back and look at the statistics over the last six weeks to see how much of a difference Brady has been.    Looking over the stats, it seems like a bit of a push in terms of offensive success.  What Brady has done better is exactly what McDermott kept harping on "complimentary football."    Brady has taken the air out of the offense and replaced it with ground success, and in doing so, cut down on the turnovers.

Can the Bills keep it up at this pace?   Can they rely on the defense to keep playing out of their minds and hope a successful running game can move them forward?  Personally, I think the Bills are playing on a razors edge and will end up bit.    The Bills really need to consider looking outside of the organization at guys like Eric Bienemy, and Kellen Moore in the offseason to attempt and fix the passing game.

I am going to be the unpopular one here and say what I think is going on in the passing game.

    1.  Josh Allen is not getting great, if any pass protection on most of his drop backs, none.

    2.  He is not seeing guys get open early enough to make quick throws

    3.  Diggs isn't getting enough separation on routes, double coverage... ETC

    4.  Josh Allen is making stupid decisions with the football regularly, killing drives.

    5.  I think because of #s 1-4, he is struggling with his instinctive decision making in heavy pressure situations and holding onto the ball too much.

I don't think it's the coordinator.  Your chart points to throw more, have more turnovers, which I think validates my list.

  7. I have now gone from an objective critic, but not an outright apologist, to a ride or die kind of guy.  To see what he and his coaching staff has had to endure and work through to get to 10 wins with the kind of injuries and piss poor play at the QB position at times, I am now all in.

I'm sorry to those who gripe about clock management, and going soft on defense (see all 22 from Philly, he clearly did not), he's a rather solid coach, and I don't think you're going to find a single coach out there who would have done better, let alone produce what this team has.  not one.  This team belives in him, and that can't be measured in my opinion.

We’re ONE game behind every single wild card leader:

-The Steelers, who were just dominated by the Cardinals and don’t have a good QB (and who also may be out for a couple weeks with an ankle injury)

-The Browns, who just lost to the Rams and have either an aging QB or DTR to help them fulfill their playoff dreams

-The Colts, who have Gardner Minshew (career journeyman). While they’re schedule is not brutal, they could lose a few of their remaining games

-The Texans, who have a good QB but a rookie, and their #1 WR is out for the year

Yes, we have to play this one week at a time. That said, the offense is starting to look like the offense we’ve known over the past few years.

And for the people who say they need to see it, we’ve seen it the past three years. We’ve had an EIGHT game win streak to close out 2022, a FOUR game win streak to close out 2021 and a SIX game win streak to close out 2020.

Oh, and like no team above us, we have one of the best QBs in the league in JA.

    Go Bills!

All that doesn't matter if the Bills can't win a game.  in reality, the Denver loss was the final nail.

Bills hire Bill Belichick as next head coach. Joe Brady remains OC. Beane picks the talent. This will draw ridicule.

But it's obvious Belichick needs a championship QB to win and Josh Allen needs a championship coach to win. Both are lost without the other.

    Irony is so underrated.

I came in here ready to blast this post... really...  but dammit if it's not a brilliant idea...

Just for this, Sean can coach the rest of the year.

I have never been a heavy critic of Sean McD, but I also haven't been an apologist for some of the coaching errors either, BUT...  I really feel somehow very drawn to rally around him.  From the Hamlin incident, to the myriad of injuries this season, I really trust he is the right coach for this team.  I wonder how many feel the same way in the locker room....

Also, as an aside, I really don't agree with the notion Dorsey was a scapegoat either.  Far too often that offense was too rpedictable.  Worthy of being fired, we'll see, but there was really no excuse this team should have been so anemic, none.  I give that firing 4 out of 5 McDermott claps.

The better we perform in the short term, the more likely we will maintain the status quo in the long term. I don't see any way that isn't the case. It was already a long shot that we would part ways with McDermott after this year. It was going to take an implosion on the trajectory of what we had seen prior to Dorsey being canned. If they turn it around and threaten the playoffs it's not going to happen.

Do some of you feel strongly enough about McDermott to actual want this thing to implode for the greater good? Do some of you feel if we can somehow get back on track to make the playoffs that it would alter your view on him as the coach next year? Curious what the outlook is on this.

I am not one who thinks McDermott hung the moon by any stretch, but I do think he's a high caliber coach, hands down.  You can pick apart any one of his mistakes on any given sunday, but if you think this team can/will do better, I submit the entirety of all head coaches and dare you to find one that has never had moments they'd like to have back.  He seems to get the most out of "next man up" guys, and you can't put a price on that.  Just look at what's left of the starting defense as a great example.

Get rid of McDermott and get ready to start another drought.

Besides, would you rather have Clappy Saleh?  I'll take clappy McD thanks.

It's been tried and Daboll killed any hope that it will be tried again.  Go to 7:55.

Watching that game recap in full is a sobering reminder this Bills offense today doesn't look much different than it did on that day.  What's happening this year isn't really a fluke, rather, it's an exacerbation of the reality that this offense can suck at times.
