  1. Was RGIII really good or was that just the fad that was read option QBing? I suspect its the latter. At the end of the day, you need someone who can stand in the pocket and read a defense. None of those things RG III ever did well
  2. Careful. Its not outside the realm of possibility that the Jags can beat the Pats. They can generate constant pressure on the QB without blitzing and have very very good corners. Also, the guy who coached the Giants teams that beat Brady and the Pats in the Superbowl twice is running the show for the Jags .
  3. Yup repeated impacts to the head from from heading the ball arent good
  4. You didnt prove that it wasnt a good stat. You just stated it isnt a good stat because Tyrod "throws balls over peoples heads all the time." Instead of offering up a sample of QBs that have high completion percentages in NFL but can't hit the broad side of a barn, you gave pure anecdotal evidence... If I take a look at QBs from 2017 with completion percentages under 60% and over 200 attempts, I see luminaries such as Tom Savage, Jacoby Brisset, Trevor Simian, CJ Beathard. Tells me that its a decent starting point for separating wheat from chaff.
  5. In general it is good indicator in NFL
  6. Yup. I recall that some folks were drooling over Matt Flynn and his six TD game against the scrub secondary of the Lions . We even had Flynn on our roster after he flamed out in Seattle / Oakland. It could be that Garoppolo is the real deal but I am also wary of flash in the pan performances and the fact that Belichick traded him away when he could have assured another decade of dominance...
  7. Lol. sounds like you have lots of experience with cheese.
  8. I was not a big fan of Marrone since Bills games were frustrating to watch under his regime. However, using number of wins as the sole criteria for evaluating the reign is ridiculous due to roster turnover. I would look at other things like player discipline , penalties, etc. Marrone at least had the Bills well prepared for game day compared to the wild west under Rex.
  9. So is he MORAL of the story of the Jags win that you can win with good WRs and a non franchise QB?
  10. If Peterman started and played in that game, he may very well have crushed the record for interceptions in a playoff game. Jags corners are pretty talented
  11. Well apparently Peterman did impress enough posters here =)
  12. Bills should go the path of least resistance. There should be minimal competition and no bidding war for the following high profile QBs : Colin Kaepernick Pros : He is a QB that has the Buffalo Barbarian seal of approval. Has been to a Superbowl and was part of very successful San Fran teams. Very athletic. Has rocket arm and huge threat to run the ball. I have heard here that he just had a down period and should bounce back. Cons: The anthem protest is a major off field distraction. Also, was never the most accurate QB . Robert Griffin III Pros: Former 2nd overall pick that Washington traded the farm for . Heisman Trophy winner. Apparently had a "transcendent" rookie season and is very accurate. Also has a very good arm and is mobile. Only reason he is down is because he was "ruined" by Shanahans. Cons: Not sure this guy knows how to operate in the pocket. Diva attitude. EJ Manuel Pros: Former number 1 pick of the Bills in 2013. Has huuuge hands which apparently is a must in Buffalo weather. Can throw the ball very far and is not a statue in the pocket. Lots of TBD posters have gone to bat for this guy to be starter and still consider him to have been mishandled and never given a fair shot. Cons: Has less than ideal accuracy. Still can't read a defense after several seasons. Johnny Manziel Pros: Former Heisman Winner and 1st round pick. Has good mobility and a good arm. Can throw effectively on the run. Likes to do his signature money gesture whenever TD is scored. Endorsed by Buffalo Barbarian and a number of other TBD posters as one of the top QB options back in 2014 draft Cons: Parties too much and may not show up for practice. Probably won't operate very well in a a structured offense since he is used to streetball and his forte is running around like a chicken and throwing up jump balls.
  13. That is some good insight that some of the less rational posters here do not have ..The opt out clause was included in there because of the fact that there was the real possibility of ownership change . No well represented coach would sign a contract with a team that has an ailing owner without such a clause. It wasn’t put in there because Bills were stupidly generous .
  14. The Superbowl is not a 1v1 game, so your pronouncement is a bit premature.
  15. You look like a major tool for posting before a game is over . Now this will be saved for posterity kind of like the stevestojan post
  16. Ceetainly the quality of the team matter a lot . Football is after all a team sport
  17. There was an interesting stat about Big Ben and his playoff record during pre game show. They showed that anytime that Big Ben throws for over 275 yards in playoffs , the Steelers lose. That still holds true after today, Pittsburgh is 0-7 in playoffs when Big Ben is racking up the yards .
  18. Since 2011 season Steelers only went deep in playoffs once ...
  19. That’s good news potentially for Jax fans since you picked Jax to get blown out today :-)
  20. Jax beat Pitt twice this season . You can only make so many excuses ...
  21. Bump for the 7 intrepid voters who picked the. Jags to beat the overrated Steelers
  22. So hanging Chad’s source is one of the Pegula kids?
  23. Still early . But it’s starting to look like a blowout .... only in this case, it’s pittsburgh getting their doors blown off
  24. Bortles will be the reason that Jags lose. Rest of team is solid .
