Best record in the AL, 2nd best in MLB and idiot owner take the focus off that. SMH
The kind of idiocy at the top that will ruin nice things. And the Orioles are full of them nice things to ruin. Thing was that Brown read the history from pregame PR notes and someone in production made a graphic that said as much. This is Captain Queeg and strawberries kind of thinking by Angelos. Brown back in the booth tonight.

But chapped ?Have to call you out here.
Go Bills
I am not so sure. If grits can be kissed, I think they could get chapped.

Ironic, isn't it?
Allen is #1 in the NFL with 71 consecutive starts.
Justin Herbert has 39, Trevor Lawrence and Pat Mahomes tied for 3rd at 34.
Rodgers 4th with 25.
Take what you will from this. I want Josh to protect himself more, but I think all the fear mongering "he's about to fall off a cliff the way Cam Newton did!" is wildly overblown by the likes of National pundits like Cowherd and folks on this board.
I want Josh to be a little more careful while still letting Josh be Josh.
Cam Newton suffered a shoulder injury on this hit by TJ Watt. It ruined his season and required surgery which was not 100% successful. The take-a-way is that he was stationery and in the throwing motion when he took the hit. So Cam should not be the go to poster boy for running QBs being at greater risk of serious injury as many suggest.

Of course the media has over reacted to the story but it's the inevitable result of Diggs' offseason of cryptic social media activity and McDermott's "very concerned" response to a question. They can say they want to keep it in house but what little bit of detail they have shared with the public is just fuel for the media speculation fire. Josh is 100% right about the media but it's not like he can call out his HC and teammate and blame them for being the cause of it. That would be even a bigger media story. My sense is that some media types are more thin skinned than they ought to be.

There’s literally nothing that is coherent about this entire statement
maybe the first part is a Stefon Diggs style cryptic statement but that's the best I got. The second part is about Chad Kelly, starting QB of the CFL's Toronto Argonauts. I too enjoy watching Chad play. CBS Sports Network has many of the CFL games including the one on Monday. There is also a streaming option available in the US called CFL+.

How do we know Allen isn't working with Palmer this off-season? Has Allen said so?
If it happened it was certainly less publicized than before. Entering the offseason, Josh was to avoid elbow surgery by allowing it some time for rest and recovery. However long that may have lasted.
I had ignored this thread based on the title. Reaction to that kind of off season rumor chasing holds little of my interest. But, it has evolved into some more interesting territory. I'll add this. Josh's 2019 season was considered a mixed bag where many were not convinced he had the right stuff and then saw 2020 as his breakout. some still talk like the bills made the playoffs in spite of Josh's play. When you look at his 2019 splits fourth quarters, road games, redzone, and 3rd and long situations Josh was among the best in the league. My bias is that these are the type of situations where the QB "it factor" is revealed. I think it is interesting that 2022 Josh fell short of 2019 Josh in those 4 splits, most notably redzone. I think the sense he took a step back originates from there. That and the fact that his last game was a dud.

This is extremely confusing. If your are parked at Bert’s and make a right on Southwestern, you can only turn left on Big Tree. It’s literally across the street and ends at Southwestern.
I think you meant to say turn right on McKinley. But then you’re not making 2 rights either.
regardless, that wouldn’t be a bad way to go. But you are likely hitting more traffic on 5 than expected. Not to mention it’s out of the way and you are backtracking all the way back to the airport. Also, it’s a fairly long walk to Bert’s from the stadium. 9/10 of a mile. Which isn’t that far, but considering the time it take everyone else to walk from the stadium there may already be traffic on southwestern and surely there is traffic in McKinley and Milestrip by the time you get to your car and attempt to get out of there.
If you are going to backtrack that much, it’s probably better to park south of Big Tree on or around Abbott. Because Abbott is closed going north, you can take it south. Take a few turns through neighborhoods and end up at the 219 near Chestnut Ridge. Even there I wouldn’t get on the 219. You’re still going to hit traffic once you head back towards the stadium. Your best bet is to go backroads until you make it to Southwestern and Transit.
@berndog there’s plenty of different ways to go. Everyone has their own process and everyone thinks their way is the best. And maybe it is for them. Fwiw I wouldn’t wait around until 6ish and then try and get to the airport in time. First off, not everyone has or can get TSA pre check. I do, but it’s not guaranteed everyone will get it. It’s also an added cost and effort/time to get it. You also run the risk of it happening to be a busy travel day at the airport. Maybe it works 99% of the time for someone, that doesn’t mean there isn’t any problems on that day for you that slow things down. You also run the risk of traffic issues like accidents or dwi checks along your route that could slow your drive dramatically.
I don’t think it needs to be a rush and don’t think you need to leave the game early by any means. I’m simply saying if you’re parking south of the stadium unless you know the exact routes to take, you may be rushing to get there. Don’t expect to park on Abbott like at Hammers lot and expect to be at the airport on time.
good luck with everything
Turn right on Big Tree at the light by Tops.

Maybe someone had this thought already but................ since McD's current deal had him signed through 2025, this seems like a giant Terry Pegula extended middle finger to the likes of Florio and Cowherd.

Two things to consider. New stadium construction is likely to stress the typical parking situation in a major way so check back closer to game day. A sneaky move is to head south then east and through the nearly empty downtown. Park at Bert's bikes at Southwestern across from ECC where there is a traffic light to exit. Turn right, right again at Big Tree and then to route 5. It's the naked bootleg of routes to the airport.

I spoke to someone earlier today who has a decent track record of being reliable who said Diggs's issue is absolutely playcalling. Felt like he was used as a decoy too often 2nd half of last season. Was open and still the ball didn't go to him.
I think this may be it but I would suggest a different causation than the play call. Stefon knows how the offense is designed, how Josh is coached to run it, how he should be used within any particular game plan, whether he is legit open or not and if the ball should come to him. Half way through the season, Josh injures his elbow and the offensive line has periods of poor pass protection, yet Josh holds the ball, targets deeper routes to players not named Diggs and the offense seems less efficient and becomes more boom or bust. Dorsey is unable to bend Josh's play style to fit what is actually designed and Diggs is frustrated by it. Thus Josh saying he personally needs to be a better QB and teammate. In essence, apologizing for being stubborn. So, is it Dorsey play calls or is it Josh's deviation from them in his decision making?

Neat card trick Josh does about 40 minutes in. He claims to be quite the pick pocket too. Skills like that need to be applied to some Patriots style shenanigans.

Nah, I think you're way overstating this.
McDermott simply is not comfortable talking to the press about internal matters. He doesn't want to make a mistake in that arena. He knows there is no benefit to cultivating the press, and he knows there's real downside to making a mistake.
So, on Tuesday, when they talked to Diggs and decided that he was still too hot to have around, they suggested he go home and come back after practice. But in the press conference, McDermott didn't think he needed to give that detail - he thought it was enough to say Diggs wasn't there without trying to explain it. Super cautious. Overnight, he saw that it was getting spun as Diggs skipped practice, and McDermott realized he needed to say more to take the heat off Diggs. So, on Wednesday he explained that Diggs had been excused and hadn't just blown it off. Just super cautious.
And Frazier was handled brilliantly. DC for one of the best teams in the league gets relieved of his duties, a Black DC at that, and there was hardly a ripple in the news. Perfect for Frazier, because the press wasn't all over him about how it felt to be fired, and perfect for the Bills because the press wasn't all over them, either. By the time it became apparent that Frazier had been canned, it was old news and no one wrote about it.
Now, whether there are people who don't like McDermott's style, I can't really say. I haven't seen anything before suggesting Daboll wanted out, but maybe that's true. Not everyone loves the guy they're working for. Everything you hear from the players sounds like they love it. Phillips and Lawson came back, and Oliver likes it enough that he didn't seem to look too hard for a new place to land.
Maybe it doesn't work for Diggs, but I'm not too worried. I think he'll be seriously into ballin when the time comes. I could be wrong.
Florio and all the others need something to talk about. Diggs gave them something, and they wouldn't be doing their jobs if they just let it lie there. Chris Jones was in the news, too, for not showing up. Press has to find something to say about the Chiefs.
It's a good thing if the only controversial thing they can find to talk about is that the star didn't show up for a practice in June.
Too little info is a mistake too. "Diggs isn't here and I am very concerned" was a terrible message to send to the public. He should be smarter than that. Don't talk about the misconceptions out in the public when your message lacking the key details is what crated them. That's an unforced error.

Easier to blame the OC than the QB. We do not know the coaching dynamic between them but it can't be easy coaching a QB that invites and tries to thrive in offensive chaos. Fans will give Josh credit when it works and blame Ken when it doesn't.

My theory. Josh was bypassing the gimme layups and taking many more deep shots. It was a trend the last part of the season. One might think that Diggs was pissed that Josh kept taking those shots which, for the most part, were not to him very often. The offense was having protection problems and Josh was not attempting to get the ball out any quicker. One might call that stubborn or even selfish in some respects. But, this trend seemed connected close in time to his elbow injury which might have made certain types of throws more problematic.

Back then, there was also another pretty good possession receiver named Fred Belitnikoff. He was my favorite before Chandler was drafted by the Bills.Fred is from Erie and a HOF famous for his overuse of stickem on every part of his uniform but i do not remember him for sideline toe taps as part of his game. Maybe I missed it.

Love your avatar. As a kid in the 70s we all practiced tapping our toes on the sideline like #81 Bobby Chandler. Before it was labeled Toe Drag Swag.
As for the NFL Network prediction, remember where they are based and the fact they employ many Long Island parents' cellar dwellers who love Gang Green.
I say 12-5 for Bills this year.
We didn't get to see much of the rest of the NFL then but I too would swear Bobby Chandler invented/perfected that toe tap catch.

I think the zone read option is among the plays that carry the most risk of injury. A misread by Josh leaves him 1 on1 vs. a much bigger body. The play at 1:00 of this video might have caused me some heart pain. So, good riddance is what I say.

Talk about using a completely out-of-context stat to try and make a point. 🙄
In order to evaluate this statistic we need so much more information. Suffice it to say that every QB's job is to limit turnovers, and Josh is no different.
Agree. First quarter turnovers have a great chance to be in one score context. But, they are not game deciders and are far from "clutch" situations which the stat seems to imply is what is being measured.

11 minutes ago, GunnerBill said:
That's a bad stat, however, be good to know if it means games that were 1 score at the time of the turnover or 1 score games at the end?
Over the last 3 years, the Bills have not played many games that ended within one score so it has to be related to game situation. I would look at this more in terms of 4th quarter/OT turnovers in one score games. That's more of what they might have been trying to measure.

The teams don’t care about the pending civil suit, but Ariaza should. You know her lawyer will be after every penny of his contract regardless of the validity of accusation.
I think teams care about PR, optics and distractions. So, my thinking is that there is still potential crap to come from a civil trial that could hurt Matt's employment status and a 6th round punter is not worthy of a team suffering any media mayhem. I think teams do care, just surprised that the Jets don't see a risk here.

I paid for MLBTV Oriole games this year in expectation of their ascendency. He delivers a smooth stream of factual content but lacks a discernable personality. In that work environment that make sense now. I think he is at his best when he works with Palmer.
