As a broadcast journalist, isn’t this a fairly critical aspect? One that is rarely fixed with hard work. I for one, can’t be a broadcaster ever due to my voice and demeanor
Whenever I listen to a recording of my voice I am forced to see how much differently I hear it when I speak with it. Just as there are faces made for radio, there are voices made for print media.

Has the identity of the person who recorded the conversation been made public? Just want to know because I would like to know the name of the person that took that less than ethical action and has thus earned my disrespect. In general, I find the Bills professional media to be very chummy. They play golf, share Fantasy Football Leagues, attend each others weddings, appear on each others' podcasts, etc. This is not a very cut throat group in the way I would imagine the media to be in other markets. Most of these people are not breaking stories on the team or players that amount to much, whether they work for the team or not. I am ok with that.

What were the two missed targets to Davis? If one was the INT how is that his fault? The safety caught it before it got to him. It was a bad throw that should have been closer to the sideline.
I dont recall the other missed target. Certainly don't recall him dropping a pass.
Interesting. What would you call that route that Gabe ran? I am not sure what it was. It just sort of bent to the sideline, allowed Whitehead to get an early jump maybe even got Gabe through the catchpoint too early. Normally we see more of a direct line to the DB and then a break and we might call it a "crisp" pattern. Maybe that's the way he is supposed to run it or maybe it was a lazy rounded break that gave the DB a chance to jump it. I don't think we'll know other than by looking for video of other times he's run that route because coaches and players don't share that information often.
The fumble was odd too. The snap almost hit the man in motion and Josh was looking to the right. Did it come too early? I have not relooked at either play other than the broadcast replay on Monday so these were just my initial impressions. After a game like that, I tend to want to decompress and move on. I'd rather not play coroner and try to figure out how/why the victim died, so I could be wrong about both.

OK. That's 5 season openers as the starter. Jets, Jets, Steelers, Rams, Jets. In those games, I counted 7 INTs, 8 fumbles and 6 of them lost. His career totals are 51, 46 and 19 for those categories over those 66 regular season games. So, season openers represent 7.6% of his starts and he has thrown 13.7% of his picks, made 17.4% of his fumbles and had 31.6% of his lost fumbles. Given his style of play, it seems like every year he has to recalibrate his time/space decision making and ball security. Training camp and preseason games do not seem to do the job to get him ready.

One of my measures for an offense that is functioning well in a road game is how much of the play clock is left when they get lined up and ready to snap. If they are constantly doing so with near zero left, it's advantage D. The wrist band does save some time and gives the QB less chance to mess up the call.

Chiefs might soon be in the "let them have a TD" to get the ball with time and down 8." Lions should go for 2 if that happens and try to go up 9.
-
Hmmm. Maybe his set tips pass vs. run plays. So the D lets him do it.

Does anyone know how to download wgr shows from their site? It seems like they've made some changes and you can only stream now.
Not sure if you can via the audacy app but that's not available in Canada anyway.
I think they take programming and have renamed them as podcasts. Used to be the audio vault. Maybe that's not what you meant.

The elite 11 quarterbacks that bust out don't even have successful college careers...
Chad Kelly beat Alabama... Was an all SEC quarterback... Was considered a top three round choice talent wise
His talent and tape was much better than a 7th round pick... He fell because all the stuff you say... Issues
He still has tons of talent... I think he'll be like doug flutie and come back to the NFL at 34
This isnt a hey, let's all celebrate Chad Kelly...
But he has a lot of talent... Alot
Chad's lead up to the draft was an all-time parade of bad news. A torn ACL and lateral meniscus in November of 2022 which required surgery. Disinvited to the combine for unspecified reason(s)-- maybe the story about mentioning an AK-47? He injured a tendon in his throwing wrist in prep for and/or at the beginning of his pro day workout which was his biggest chance to throw for NFL scouts. The Broncos had to shelve him for 2017 on the PUP. It's tough to isolate his off field issues from his horrendous draft runup issues and how each contributed to tanking his draft stock but it certainly was a combination of both.

He reminds me of Vince Young - all the talent in the world but no self control or willing to listen to teams on changes he needs to make. Maybe CFL helped him.
Teams certainly tried - he had plenty of opportunities..I do not think he did anything wrong with the Colts. Reports there were pretty good and Chad had some good preseason games there. He beat out PJ Walker rather easily as their PS guy. The next year they drafted Jacob Eason in the 4th round and the writing was on the wall. Chad is a better QB than Eason, imo, but given a 4th round investment, there's no way they would not keep Eason on the roster over Chad. That's why I think he will stick in the CFL for 3 years. The money in Canada is better than a FA NFL contract with little guaranteed until after you win a training camp battle for a #2 job. The PS is not better than his extended deal.

He got kicked off his high school, college, and nfl teams. Considering how much coaches put up with talented players, that says a lot. He isn’t exactly a rocket scientist (I mean he had to settle for St. Joes). He threaten to shoot a bar up with an AK 47. He tried to fight high schoolers when he was in the pros. Almost everyone who has met him says he is a giant d bag.
that said, this might be the best thing for him. I don’t think he’s really that humbled (he was on a pod talking about how is better than a bunch of nfl starting qbs) but talent was never his problem. And he’s getting to play, which is something a guy like Tre Lance could use. I definitely would rather have him than our backups. Only problem is he would be a terrible influence on single Josh and probably would think he should be the starter. Swag Kelly!
Bad post. I respect anyone for not giving up on their dreams. They are in the top 5% of their profession, one step away from being millionaires. How about you?
He punched a photographer at Von Miller's Halloween party and broke his jaw. Imo, that is the worst known offense. The trespass/vacuum cleaner thing was not violent, just embarrassingly bizarre. No forced entry and no aggression toward the residents. Most all the others are out-of-control, adolescent-like tantrums. I would suggest that he did not enter the field of school game and get in a fight, he entered a game that had transformed into a brawl (which was suspended and never resumed, btw) where his brother was in a bad spot. Not smart but I don't know how dumb I might be for my brother. He never was "in the fight" as some have posted. He has an unmatched cycle of successes and emotional failures that some budding mental health professional could write a thesis on.
Chase Daniel has made $41 M and Chad is way better than him. Chad's flawed sense of ego/self control has likely cost him 8 figures in earnings. I think he knows this all too well. I hope he has gotten some counseling and suspect he might have when with the Colts. He was never lazy about his craft but could never handle being told "no." He fights authority and authority always wins. I do agree with him that his combination of play making ability, mobility and arm talent is better than most QBs in the NFL. C.Biscuit must be a Canisius man.

I wasn’t a douche when I was 18.
My friends weren’t douches at 18.
Yes … we all make mistakes as learn from them (far beyond our teenage years).
But there’s a difference between going through they typical ups and downs of a teenager and a painfully arrogant dipshit, spoiled rich kid living off of his uncle’s name doing insanely stupid stuff and not owning it.
He is a colossal douche. At 18 and beyond (he was in his 20s when he got into a fight at a f*cking high school football game.
Rich white trash.
His dad works/worked for Wegmans and his mom is/was a school teacher. Seems middle class to me but rich is a relative term. He was on the field because his brother was dogpiled in the other team's bench area. Seemed he was willing to do more but never made it to the fight. He could have been more calculating and thought "this is a bad look and could hurt my draft status" but it was "my brother was cheap shotted and is on the ground and outnumbered on their sideline and in a melee- I need to do something." This is one incident involving him that was more of a mole hill than a mountain, imo.

Did you ever noticed how despite being a local home-grown athlete and an legendary uncle who is synonymous with the franchise, Kelly never got any kind of tryout with the Bills?
The rumor was that Jim advocated for the tBills to stay away from Chad since he’s be surrounded by some many old vices and bad influences.
Many believe that John Elway taking as the final pick in 2017 was done as a favor for Jim.
The crazy thing is that even after sabotaging his career multiple times, Chad’s NFL stint was progressing well in Denver until Von’s Halloween party
He did. Heading into the playoffs post 2020 season. I thought maybe it was a COVID related contingency.

Jim has many nephews that play football. We in WNY have been hearing about Chad since he was a 4X PPK champion and every screw up made public made the local news. The same with every success. Imo, we care because he's very talented and is connected to WNY. If he had grown up in East Brady we would not care all that much. My 84 year old mother and 88 year old aunt love to watch him play. They know about his bad press and have empathy for his family. Fundamentally, one can believe in redemption or not.
Btw, CFL games are available in the US on CBSSN or livestreamed on CFL+. The Argos play at 3:30 today.

I was more getting at that some people think the only way to show leadership is to yell at your teammates, in public or behind closed doors. Your right though, Josh isn’t like that at all and I appreciate it
Imo, this is the thinking that leads Broussard to that conclusion. Also, can you imagine Manning or Brady being addressed by a teammate in a game like Josh was by Diggs? Whatever was being said doesn't matter to many, the look was a lasting negative one in that regard.

I am listenting to Joe Marino's Locked On podcast for tomorrow which he posts on Youtube the afternoon/evening prior. He is featuring an All 22 Review and has lots of points to make and it's worth a listen, as per usual. He says of the 6 pressures Josh faced, 3 were on him for bailing prematurely from a clean pocket and thus creating the pressure. Josh would be very tough to block for as his movements are unpredictable and extended plays create more chances for OL allowed pressure and holding calls.
