No. That’s insane. I mean, Daquan was playing well for us and I’m glad he’s back and all. He’s a good player. But he was never playing anywhere close to an “All Pro” level. If he was capable of playing like Aaron Donald, Frank Clark, Chris Jones or Justin Madibuke, then he’d be getting $25M-$30M a season like they are. He’s getting $8M (or up to $8M).

While I agree Jones doesn’t make the same type of plays those other players make, he is a very impactful player in the Bills system. DT playing one technique in McD’s D is extremely important. Whenever the 1T is playing well, the entire D looks better. Honestly not sure there is a more important position in this defense.

how is trying to improve your defense by signing an elite player just “throwing darts” to save their jobs?

You do realize you are engaging with someone who isn’t a Bills fan and only comes on here to stir the pot?

I think there is an extension coming in the next 365 days. No way the Bills take a $56M hit next year. And that is pre-restructure. I would not be shocked if one comes before TC starts.

With Cousins getting $45M today, $56M might be about right next offseason.

I'm not great at analyzing these things, but I believe his cap hit will be ~$2.3M this year, and we could cut him after this season for like $700K dead cap in 2025 and 2026. Not too bad. I just hope he isn't a starter.

Like you, I don’t pretend to understand exactly how it works with the money, but the guaranteed money sounds like a good value spread out over three years. The one area on the team I trust McD on is defensive backfield. He has seen Rapp play for a year, if Coach thinks he is worth this, that’s good enough for me.

Why do so many people not care about Diggs? Disrespect him? Think so poorly of him?

Go to a game. He is on the field warming up with as much passion as anyone. He talks to the crowd, he makes the game special for many people - especially children. The dude wears his heart on his sleeve for each game and remains a higher end talent at WR.

It's weird - especially because he is the only WR we have going into next season.

Shakir, Shorter, and Harty are also under contract.

Just looking at the playoff schedule as we know it so far...

Who out there really scares you this playoff year?

This is the weakest (at least on paper) group of teams I can recall in many years playing in the playoffs.

NO ONE "scares me" other than San Francisco.  I want no part of that team, but we wouldn't have to deal with them until the big dance anyway.

Everyone else in both conferences doesn't rise to close to their level.

Lots of teams could beat us, sure, but they don't scare me and they are beatable opponents.

    The door is wide open!

Maybe I am delusional, but I think with 2 weeks and no more note able injuries, McD can shut down San Fran’s offense. Josh can score enough to win that game.

Also, I might be wrong but the NFLPA has strict guidelines on organized meetings/practices. KC won’t be able to meet and start practicing till most likely Tuesday. Yes, the physical rest is different for KC, and the Bills also get to know they stay home all week and use their facilities right up till kickoff.

The weather is certainly an unfortunate circumstance but the league apparently wanted to play the game in Atlanta today at a neutral site and the Bills/state officials shut it down… so really no excuse next week if the Bills beat the Steelers tomorrow.

If true, that would have been interesting to see the fan split in the Benz. Tons of Bills fans In Atl, there are a lot of Steeler fans everywhere it seems.

I agree and especially because he’s had a few weeks off.

A front 4 of Rousseau, Linval, DaQuan and Oliver could be really tough to run against

Unfortunately, this staff seems to have a ton of faith in Settle  so I don’t expect it

I like how you are thinking, I would add Lawson. Go 5 man front.

  9. Good for Von!! As someone who works in mental health, we should celebrate anyone who decides substances are an issue for them and decide to make a change. We should all support him, he wants something better for himself and those around him.

Expecting strong winds = emphasis on run game....do they suit up Linval Joseph and sit Von Miller?

I recognize they don't play the same position, I am just thinking conceptually, I guess.

I could see this. Maybe 5 DT’s and 4 DE’s. Rousseau, Lawson, and Epinesa are great at setting the edge, then have the big boys up the middle clean it up. Like to Joseph and Jones in on obvious running downs.

McDermott has gone through the wringer this year. You can hear it in his voice. This win meant everything to him.

Ride that message right to lifting the Lombardi, “Resilient”. Keep getting up and fighting, that’s what gives you a chance and wins championships. They did it last night and all year.
    Go Bills!!

Fire Danny Crossman is always the right answer in fairness. I didn't realise he was their ST coach, although Harty's touchdown makes more sense now that I know he is.

Eh, the player suffering the non contact injury, who would have been in the exact spot to make the tackle, has more to do with the punt return than any of the ST coaches past mistakes.

On the Josh fumble, O'Cyrus was left to block Wilkins by himself and whiffed on the block. Mitch Morse had nobody in front of him to block and should've help Torrence out.

This. Noticed a couple of times where Morse went to his left to help McGovern and Torrence was getting beat, need to slide protection towards the rookie when he has a superior defender in front of him than the one McGovern has.
