  2. The receiver class is very strong, but that doesn’t mean everyone in it is a future dominant receiver in the NFL, nor does it mean that a receiver that still needs development can’t contribute while they develop or that they won’t become outstanding. I think fans expectations are a little high. Patience will be required for many of these receivers and some who start modestly will become outstanding. Most rookies take time unless they are so physically dominant that it carries over to the league immediately. Even Bruce Smith had only 6.5 sacks as a rookie.
  3. I’d love that pick if he was there but I think the Steelers will get him at 20
  4. Jesus Christ. He played for the Panthers for 1 season… 2023. We’re 7 years removed from McBeane being there… are some of you that clueless?
  5. Hi all. Haven't posted on here for a long long time. Let's have a conversation and see if we can do it without the use of the term WIDE RECEIVER that I think we all (myself included) are excited about adding a few from this draft. I'm here to talk about the possibility of investing in a new, long term, potentially dominant anchor for our O-line. OC Jackson POWERS-Johnson. Mitch Morse was a stable and good player. Arguably not elite. I watched this analysis on JPJ that I thought was spot on. Last time I brought up drafting Center on this board I got destroyed. I still expect a lot of barf emojis and nay-sayers.... but again, I'm ONLY suggesting Center if there is a run on WRs and JPJ is the value pick. I feel that there might be a RUN on wide receivers in round one and without trading up, we might miss on the top WRs that we have been mocking at pick 28. Watching Beane talk about draft strategy, I'm thinking that they won't take a WR at 28 if they have the board looking like top round 2 players. Beane himself said he would pass on WR if that were the case, selecting the higher ranked player. At 28, I think that's a pretty good spot for the top center in the draft. Could they go DT? Safety? Edge? other? Well of course...... But let's not sleep on center. We COULD move one of our Guards over..... or just pick our Center that would likely be our guy for a decade. Here's the link:
  6. He has some talent but I think he has been slightly overhyped by some in the process. He is very quick, but for someone with so much speed he isn't open as often as he should be and the reason is he is not a good route runner - often imprecise and gives up leverage willingly. I think some of that is coachable, and there has been some improvement in his hands but he is early 3rd round in terms of grade for me. He is in a little cluster with Ricky Pearsall and Javon Baker for me in my kind of 4th tier of receivers (would be a 3rd tier in most drafts) and I think I like him the least of those 3.
  7. I agree that they are the two best options left. Danna had 8 sacks last season and Lawson had 8 in 2022. I’m not sure why he didn’t get much playing time last season. Still, compared to last year there’s just not much there in the FA pool compared to last year.
  8. Starting today, the Buffalo Sabres reason for existence is to win the Stanley cup That was 4.783 days ago
  9. On TSW, you'll find threads about firing McD, even a recent one. If KA & DG still have jobs and even extensions, don't waste time pushing for McD to be gone
  10. Anyone but McConkey and Corum.......i'm a simple man, that's all i ask.
  11. Yeah, he was fairly solid in college, but it was that one hit that made his career. The media replayed that hit on every station every 10 minutes, so it was no wonder his stock soared up the charts after that one.....he basically became a household name overnight.
  12. John Madden perennial playoff coach for 7 years starting in 1969 finally won the SB in 1976 . lots of playoof disapointment no talk of windowns closing. Bill Cowher about ten years of playoff setbacks before winning the Super Bowl; this board fantasized about Bill Cowher coming during the drought!
  13. Russ actually had a decent year last year. He was once great and still may go to the HOF. Ironically, if they run the ball, he’s probably already in the HOF. He may have a year or 2 left. I like Fields a lot. He has elite traits. It hasn’t fully translated but there have been glimpses. If it ever does fully translate, they found their QB for basically nothing. In a world where teams trade 3 1sts for Trey Lance or Bryce Young, Fields for the cost of CJ Ah You is a steal. I LOVE the idea of buying talented young QBs who didn’t work out in their first stop. They’re dirt cheap. It’s like someone hands you a power ball ticket but the odds of you winning are like 1 out of 10.
  14. I've been swimming in a sea of anarchy I've been living on coffee and nicotine I've been wondering if all the things I've seen Were ever real, were ever really happening (were ever really happening) Every day is a winding road I get a little bit closer Every day is a faded sign I get a little bit closer
  15. I actually like Fields. He's entertaining to watch. He's fantastic for fantasy football. However, real world football...he just doesn't have what it takes to win at the NFL level IMO. Wilson is what he is at this point in his career. I'd compare him to a glorified Tyrod Taylor. He'll be safe with the ball, he's going to make a play here and there but he's not carrying the team to a win. However with their defense and running game they can still make some noise and hopefully take a few games away from Cincinnati, Cleveland and Baltimore.
  16. Imagine my shock Also the Post is really getting creative with their euphemisms now. Be sure to keep your head on a swivel looking for “fringe political candidates” next time you’re in the city.
  17. To take it a step further, when you have a franchise QB, the cap needs to be allocated to certain positions. You pay your LT (Dawkins), top WR (Diggs), pass rush (Oliver, Von) and top CB (was Tre’s contract). You don’t spend on your 3rd & 4th DT (Settle & Ford) or ST guys (Neal and Matakevich).
  18. And that's also playing into why we have been signing quite a few former Washington Commanders over the years. Just this year we grab Toohill and Samuel. Signed Crowder and went after that RB that changed his mind and went back to Washington. Kyle Allen played for both Washington and Carolina. It's a fairly common practice around the league. Heck look at all the former Bills brought in by Daboll for the NYG.
