  2. Do you mean ranking them purely on how good of a vertical threat they are? Or do you mean ranking the top 5 guys that the Bills could use as a vertical receiver on their overall skillset? Because to me Thomas is clearly the best pure vertical guy. I might even have him as the best pure vertical guy including the top 3 (him and Odunze would be close). The problem with Thomas is he is "only" a pure vertical guy. He is very good at it but falls into the category of "one trick pony." If you are asking me who is the best of the guys who you can use as a vertical receiver when taking into account their whole package it's Legette for me.
  3. Brian Thomas Jermaine Burton Javon Baker Troy Franklin Adonai Mitchell
  4. No need to crap on the guy just for making the statement that between ridiculous PSL & Tix costs, they are being priced out. Actually very sad that many long time STH will be in the exact same predicament.
  5. Curious to see which way Beane takes it: 1) overspend for one of the Big 4 who are highly likely to play X and be WR1, 2) think in terms of drafting a complementary pair for the Diggs and Davis roles. Guys like Mitchell and Leggette are wild cards who could be that WR1 but you're rolling the dice. Cap considerations dectate preservation of draft capital - filling roster holes with entry-level contracts who can contribute to a team with a top-3 QB in the league, i.e. the KC model. It's not enough to build a team just to beat the Chiefs anymore. Of course in a wonderful wonderful world Thomas slips to the 20s and the Bills make the move at a reasonable cost but I think they just can't sell the farm with their cap situation. So of the likely receivers of that tier, you're looking for the guy who can do Diggs things first - sharp routes, separation, and/or insane speed. Explosive guys who threaten at three-levels. Franklin, McConkey, Worthy, Tez Walker, Pearsall (his play metrics concern me tho... Franklin's are excellent). If you're not in love with one of them, someone should be in reach from 60 for a small move-up - or certainly in the mid-30's after a small move down from 28. From there your R4 and after guys who can be the X are Rice, Baker, Polk, McCaffrey even Wilson or Coleman if they drop to the R3/R4 range. There's probably PFA guys out of this group who'd have a chance out of this class. Being a degenerate mock drafter I've come around to the trade-down approach more often that not and found value to fill roster holes where if half of them hit, the Bills window stays open even this year. Difference makers come out of every round and every draft; even if Beane isn't hitting home runs he's been among the tops hitting singles and doubles, guys who can play in the league and help a team. That's what the Bills need out of their drafts now.
  6. IMO: Thomas Worthy Mitchell Franklin Leggette
  7. Ever watch SwordFish? What does Travolta's character say about how Houdini was able to captivate audiences without them being able to ever detect anything as to how he was able to do his tricks? Misdirection.
  8. Did you listen to the full interview? Based on your comments it doesn’t sound like it because if you did you would know he didn’t discuss anything that gives away, or even suggests, their strategy and plans. Nothing about that his interview was strategic in that type of nature.
  9. He should go into the draft with broad goals in mind but not about specific players. The draft can fall in many many different ways and he needs to keep himself flexible to react. We saw this last year in trading up for Kincaid when he found out that the Cowboys wanted him. Here is where networking and his contacts with the likes of Schoen and in the Panthers organization help.
  10. How would you rank the top 5 pure vertical threats in this draft? Don’t include Harrison, Nabers, or Odunze.
  11. I didn’t take Beanes comments about guys stepping up to be about one of the WRs becoming a boundary WR1 to replace Diggs…more just about young guys stepping up in general using Bernard as an example. Which is why based on his convo and mention of Shakir, I think Shakir is who he is talking about. Remember, Shakir doesn’t have to be a boundary WR to be a big part of our offense, he can do it from the slot. Cole was a more niche player and almost had 1000 yards out of the slot.
  12. Here I go again on my own Going down the only road I've ever known Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone And I've made up my mind I ain't wasting no more time I'm just another heart in need of rescue Waiting on love's sweet charity And I'm gonna hold on for the rest of my days
  13. Somewhere I read that they were high on Shorter, don't know where I read it or why they think that, so Beane could be referring to him. I've also read that both Shorter and Shavers are good ST players, for what it's worth. We should have us another WR by the the end of next Friday at the latest.
  14. So Joe Hoe is Gelly he is in better shape than her and wears the make up better?
  15. I do think it will be very difficult to come away with 2 of Worthy, McConkey, Franklin, Leggette...but possible! I guess the challenge is to identify the next group of guys who seem to fit their "type." Corley and Washinton are probably just RAC slots. Cowing is a guy I like a lot but he is probably just a slot. Baker, Pearsall, and Thrash seem to check a bunch of those boxes and seem like the type they like as multi-purpose receivers. Walker, McMillan and Rice to some extent are very interesting and check some of those boxes.
  16. there goes the "process" i don't think beane and the hoodie will seamlessly coexist but make no mistake.....todays hoodie is still a significant upgrade in game day decision making and defensive game planning over McClappity by the time McClappity stops finding new ways to lose.....josh will be out of the league
  17. The party of “women” is gutting Title IX Honestly.. whatever. This is obviously gross and people should stand up against it, but the people who it affects overwhelmingly vote for the party that’s doing this to them. Democrats, once again, proving that they are not the party for women, they are simply the party for abortion.
  18. I would take the latter with a grain of salt too. With our available cap space next year, having draft picks in 2025 draft is much less important than having them this year. Plus with the long term goal of team building, we need to use this year's draft to also keep the pipeline full especially at the postions where the FAs next year are projected to be slim.
  19. For as sure as the Top 7 looks like it’s going to be with at least the players in mind, 8-32 is an absolute minefield trying to figure out which team is going to go where.
  20. They made it so easy for the company to weed out the extremist and antisemites.
  21. Burton has serious character issues if I remember right. He also transfered 2-3 times in college
