Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?
Buffalo ill replied to jaybeezee's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with you and the post you quoted. I was ready to quit watching after the playoff blowout loss to the Bengals. I actually realized how bad being a 30+ year Bills fan actually made me feel. The problem was my wife actually pulled me back into it. She randomly started showing an interest in football she never had before, began rooting for the Bills, and watching games. I started to look forward to watching the game with her and our dogs on the couch. Fast forward two more loses to KC in the playoffs, and I hit what I deemed to be an irreversible wall. After the afccg last year, I really thought about how awful being a bills fan makes me feel. Seeing them in their downward spiral this year isn't hotting as hard as it would have in years past. I'm more disgusted with the team, and how Billsy it will be if NE goes to the superbowl, than anything. It feels like a waste of Allen's talent (though he isn't blameless) and my time. I mainly watch this year because i forgot to turn off my youtube tv/and nfl package renewals. -

That combination is intriguing, but make no mistake that is a Head Coach downgrade that you are hoping outperforms what we have by a bit of freshness of voice and potentially an upgrade at OC. While I agree Saleh wasn't responsible for bringing the entire circus to town in NYC he definitely didn't help himself with his press interactions. This is a good point. Fundamentally it's the same defense. Yea McDermott was hired by Terry, not Whaley. -
Ex Cav Scout here. Day late to the thread, but it's poignant. I used to be a day late to just about half my formations too....

beane needs to try to stop being the smartest guy in the room. McDermott needs to stop hiring yes men. we are a soft team and it starts at the top -
I’ve gone five straight years. The stadium experience is “meh.” I agree with the sound and replay comments. I, too, wore prescription sun glasses and had the game go a little dark, but that’s not the stadium’s fault. Lastly, you can sing “God Bless America” at any event I attend, any day, any week. And, as a general approach to life, Veterans day is 365 days a year. I’ve heard, but never understood, the organic vs paid complaint. Of course the military advertises and has for two hundred years. Royalties are paid for the Bills’ “Shout” song and for “Mr. Brightside.” I’ve never heard someone complain they were being misled because the songs weren’t “organic.” What do I like about the stadium? Renovations in two parts, I understand, cost $750 million and includes F1 racing. That’s value.

Coaches are heavily implying that Coleman isn’t trying on the field
finn replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe. But I have a long-shot hypothesis that leads to a sunny conclusion, which is that McDermott is mishandling Coleman. Coleman has shown promise--look at the Baltimore game, for instance, and a few of the early games last season. He may not be a bust from a physical standpoint, like Boogie Basham, and he might not be an Elam-like bust either, a guy with talent who just doesn't get it. Rather, he might be sulking and McDermott is inadvertently making it worse by shaming him in front of his teammates and the world. In other words, he might be extremely immature (aka stupid), thinking, "I'll show them, I won't make this catch. THEN we'll see who's sorry, heh!" In his defense, public humiliation is pretty damaging and can backfire spectacularly. I speak as a parent and teacher here. It's possible that Coleman can still be everything the Bills hoped for, someone who devoted his summer to getting into great shape and was ready to shine this year, only to run into a rough patch on the field maybe, then being embarrassed. He withdraws into a pout, McDermott doubles down, so does he, and we have the current state of affairs. If this is the case, we haven't seen the best of Coleman yet. He might be a dawg if properly motivated. The bad news is that I don't see this turning around. It takes a lot to realize, as someone in charge of discipline, that you're going about it the wrong way and to change course, especially in such a public forum (in front of the whole team, I mean). Does McDermott have the combination of insightfulness and courage it takes? I'm dubious. But it's possible. -
I think it's his worst regular season loss since he decided to start Nathan Peterman in the middle of a playoff chase in 2017.

It does not ignore the offense leaving points on the field. It actually specifically says the offense is broken. Previously it was not broken. A logical person does not thing the defense somehow was fixed, because it played well against an Andy Dalton led defense. And the defense played so great against the Chiefs (who have a lot of other losses. Sidenote - the 2025 Chiefs are not the same as the 2023 Chiefs) that they gave up a 4th and 18, and let the Chiefs stay in the game until the last play.

Still, that doesn't explain why the Bills defensive personnel are particularly bad at it. It would be ironic if, with all the injuries, McDermott has been going easy in practice but players are getting injured anyway, meaning he has the worst of both worlds.

The new strength and conditioning staff seems to have failed miserably. How many injuries in practice alone and others from what appears to be poor stretching. Josh looked like he was t properly hydrated for game in Miami maybe the guys shouldn’t have gone golfing in the damn Miami heat and humidity day before game and probably didn’t hydrate while playing.
