That's my opinion Kirby. I don't find him to be elite. Those kinds of terms are thrown around way too much in today's game. The Bills have lacked in gathering talent at the WR position. And that's on Beane. However, I just do not see a lot of difference from Wilson to Shakir. The TD Shakir scored against the Steelers in the playoffs two years ago is as good as it gets running after the catch at the NFL level. So Wilson is #10 big deal. Once you are below the top 5 in anything it really doesn't matter. Do you know golf? Scheffler and Rory are pretty much top 2. With DeChambeau and Scheuffle not too far back on a given week. But once you are down to 10-30 its throwing names in a hat my friend.

Beane is good at drafting after all -- A look at 2022
Saint Doug replied to boater's topic in The Stadium Wall
2022 was a great draft, but do the 2019 and 2020 drafts now. I will say 2021 was a little bit better, but not earth shattering. Some good role players in some of these, but not game changers. -
Yeah, pretty much this. I don’t buy the conspiracy. Late-night TV is pretty much dead at this rate.

It’s telling me… It wasn’t a block buster story, it was run of the mill gossip mongering; Some people believe it is a real story; Some people think it’s a bogus story; Most people don’t really care and moved on 5 mins after the news broke; Distrust in our media institutions is at an all time high. That’s what it tells me, Sport. Signed, Chief

TJ Watt signs extension with the Stillers

I’m hoping this happens with Bosa… TJ Watt is worth every penny. It’s too bad the Steelers don’t have an offense worth a crap. -

Chiefs George Karlaftis extended - 4 years, $93 Million

Kind of an overpay to me. 8 sacks per season average is marginally better than Epenesa, and he has Chris Jones demanding all of the attention to his benefit. -

He’s not just scared of the Epstein scandal he’s petrified. So now it’s full-blown circus mode: scream about anything and blame everyone else. -

Beane is good at drafting after all -- A look at 2022
GunnerBill replied to boater's topic in The Stadium Wall
The 2022 draft was, despite a huge whiff on Elam, Beane's best class since 2018. It was critical too. 2023 only has two starters at this point though. -
The old dictum "you can't evaluate a draft for a couple years" rings true. The Buffalo News just did so. From the TBD front page, there is a link to a Buffalo News article about Beane's 2022 draft. Four of five picks were lauded because they became starters: The 2022 draft, though, could be the catalyst for the Bills completing their scale to the NFL apex – and they missed on their first-round pick, cornerback Kaiir Elam. They drafted Cook at No. 63, Bernard No. 89, Shakir No. 148 and Benford No. 185. Elam was a bust, but otherwise 2022 was gold yielding four starters. Not a bad draft result for good old fella Beane. The News had comment regarding the importance of reaping draft picks who start and also those picks who make the team as backups: As the salaries of the Bills’ most important players rise via second and third contracts, so does the importance on finding cost-controlled, inexpensive labor. Players, who after a year of seasoning, can become starters. Players, who at the very least, can be valuable role options in case of injury. And players, ultimately, who can earn second contracts, removing the need to use a draft pick (or picks) to replace them. Along the lines of draft picks who contribute, Beane has done well. He has had salary cap friendly draft picks make the team. I wish Beane's Pro Player personnel choices could achieve a similar level of success--that needs work, he has been disappointing in that department, IMO. I look forward to judging the 2023 class next summer: Dalton Kincaid, O'Cyrus Torrence, Dorian Williams, Justin Shorter, Nick Broeker, and Alex Austin. Early assessment: the 2023 class has yielded three starters (the later three picks were cut). So 2023 is a mixed bag, his higher picks start and his washouts were disposable later round picks.

Who is going to training camp and what day?
BillsFanForever19 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Congrats to anyone going to Fisher. I haven't ever been able to win the lottery. LeShawn Jerman on Twitter was nice enough a few years back to gift me some. My dad is 76 and is dying to go and it breaks my heart every year when he realizes neither he, my brother, or I have got tickets for him. But I wouldn't trade that for the times the team was so bad that we could just roll up without tickets. -
The wild part??? The O was pretty darn good last year with the WR room they had then. I am thinking exponentially better if these guys AND the OLine stay reasonably healthy. It could be scary!
