Colts to bring in ….Philip Rivers for workout UPDATE: Signed to PS

Leaked video of Phillip Rivers' tryout with the Colts: -
IMO, the sooner they start doing it the better - but it probably won't happen, at least not this year. I think the Bills FO might be getting too caught up in the "we paid him $12M, we have to use him" philosophy. R Davis may have slimmed down in the offseason in the hopes of a J Cook holdout, and Davis would get the RB1 gig. Wish we had a sure handed, non-fumbling bruiser for the short yardage role. But I kind of think both Josh and Cook kind of like the TDs.

It’s National Enquirer, Gossip Magazine and People all rolled up into one in here on so many levels. Is Drama Kings a thing?

There’s something different about McD this season…
HappyDays replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think we're a 3 win team without Allen and I don't think McDermott is a bad coach. He's the proverbial RB that gets you 2 yards on 3rd and 2, and also gets you 2 yards on 1st and 10. My issue has been that McDermott and Beane chose to build the team in a way that takes away from Allen's greatness. Then we inevitably get into games like this past Sunday where we need Allen to be beyond great and boy are we blessed that he can pull off a win like that even when so much around him goes wrong, but to use McDermott's own words "it shouldn't have to be that hard" to win through the passing game. They intentionally constructed the team to have that flaw, and for what it's worth I give McDermott and Beane equal blame on that front. Like I said earlier in the thread I give McDermott credit for letting Allen win him the game. I don't mean that sarcastically. The best thing he and Beane can do moving forward is to build the team around Allen and get out of the way. He can gift them both a Hall of Fame legacy if they'll only let him. Some of McDermott's comments this year and his aggressiveness against Cincy give me hope that he's finally figured that out, and Beane goes as McDermott goes as far as I'm concerned. -
Once again the kids a rookie. What does Witten’s career numbers have to do with comparing the kind of player Hawes could be. He’s already an elite blocker and nasty like Witten, not a phenomenal athlete but already has a rapport to get open for his QB. Hopefully he can run routes consistently like Witten did but not a far fetched idea to think he can. He’s only going to get better.

Game week thread - Bills at Patriots*

Also @Slippery Rubber Mats! We don't want anyone getting Brohm'd. I'm interested to see how the Bills plan on covering Diggs. He's a chain mover at this point but was very effective in the first game and I hope they have a better plan for him this time around. -
todd started following McD strategy blunders

Sometimes it's good to have a reminder of why you have someone on the blocked list.

More Bengals Blunders. Trey Hendrickson to have surgery.

We haven’t won or Super Bowl, or even been to one since 1994. I’ll sign up for most anything other than standing pat. -
First of all, no one is comparing our TEs to some of the best TEs of all-time. No one. I am comparing them to their contemporaries, to our current competitors (and as a group/room). And I'm not quite sure how you define serviceable. I said they are probably a top-10 group. Well, after doing a lot of adding up, it turns out that our TE group is currently 2nd in the NFL in receiving yards by TEs (behind only Arizona) and 3rd in the NFL in TE Touchdowns (behind only SF and the Rams, by 2 and 1 TDs respectively). Yes, some of that is because other teams throw to their WRs more, but that is also with Dalton Kincaid (the best receiver of our bunch) missing 4-1/2 games and with us being a heavy run team. Plus, Hawes is an elite blocker, Knox is a very high-end blocker, and Kincaid is not bad in that department (it's just not his strong suit). Are we weak at WR (in comparison to many teams)? Yes. But as I said in another post, it's not the only position on the field. We are #1 in the NFL in Rushing Yards, #1 in Yards per Carry, and #2 in Rushing TDs. Plus our backs are great at receiving out of the backfield. We are #2 in the NFL in Receiving Yards by TEs, and #3 in Receiving TDs by TES. Plus our TEs are great blockers. We have a top-tier offensive line (when healthy---but we also have pretty good depth there to cover when we aren't healthy). We have the best Quarterback. Some of you guys act like none of that (except for Josh) balances out any weaknesses we have at the WR position.

This may be the result of having a run first, TOP offense, and always deferring opening KO. Wear them down early and stomp on them in the second half.
-
Once again…go look at Witten’s career numbers.
-
Key is their status when Josh played against them The Bills played Lamar in week 1 and if not for Josh’s heroics Lamar would have been the MVP of the game when the Bills played Mahomes, the chiefs we’re riding on a hot streak from him and Josh silenced him. Burrow was playing at a high level and took a 21-10 lead into the 4th quarter before Josh decided to wear his cape and out dueled him the threeQBs may not be ranked in the top five today but when we played them they were one of the hottest QBs entering that game
-
Over the past two weeks I’ve grown more comfortable with our wildcard path to the playoffs, Benford is hot, our line play has filled in nicely, Shaq Thompson is doing well, Harriston is doing ok, Cole isn’t out of position. Josh and Cook are healthy or seem to be. if we get healthy at the right time and stay healthy we could be tough to be in a shoot out in the playoffs.
-
Upside…come on brother. No one with any common sense would think I’m actually stating a rookie 3rd TE is right now comparable to Jason Witten. But I like his longevity to one day be Jason Witten like. It’s not unfathomable
-
This thread discussion is like speculating on the breakup of Beavis and Butthead, of Peanut Butter and Jelly, of Hawn and Russell, of Sonny and Cher (*****, bad reference).... If there is a problem, we will be the last to know...but I think I heard Joe Schoen and Dan Morgan were making eyes at McD...
-
Agree I have talked about the Chiefs O elsewhere. I don't think has been well coordinated and designed for much of this year.
-
Rookie contract. Those townhouses by the stadium a bunch of players live in have like 9ft ceilings at most.
-
Jason Witten? What an odd comparison. You might want to take a look at Witten’s career stats and then go try and find someone else to compare Hawes to. 😂
-
I think they were both upset, but not necessarily with each other. Things happen and people get pissed off. It happens on the field too. You move on.
-
I have it on good authority that Diggs will be a non factor. It is december now, and we know he disappears in December.
