If you're faced with a strong DL the conventional wisdom is you run at pressure and throw away from it. Good mix of run, both up the middle and to the outside along with quick outs, screens and jet sweeps. Force them to play sideline to sideline and bring a safety into the box.

They'll win. It's next week that concerns me, mostly because they will win tomorrow. This team can't seem to stay focused two weeks in a row. It's almost like get excited only by challenging games, like KC or Pittsburgh. If that's the case, the weak schedule has worked against them. Same with KC. Both teams have been dominant for so long and have played so many more games than any other team, they're just no longer hungry. Put them in the playoffs, and they'll shine, is my guess. The trick is getting there, or maybe giving them challenges. Maybe they'll see New England that way, instead of another Atlanta-Houston-Jets-Miami-Saints patsy. I'm guessing they think Pittsburgh is a patsy, too, but Allen will be excited to play against Rogers, and his enthusiasm will spread. In fact, he might be the one with the ennui.

Chiefs missing playoffs would be a silver lining in what is looking like a lost and depressing season.

Keon Coleman likely to return against Pittsburgh

Seems fitting, what with all the use the Gerald Ford GIF got... -
I'm not going to sit here and tell you that Brady is great. But putting it all on him is foolish. Watch the All 22 or go to a game and you can see, way more often than not (pretty much all season long) - *no one* is open for Josh. Khalil is included in this. If he were getting open, you'd be hearing analysts and fans alike saying "Khalil is open consistently and you're not going to him" instead of "Josh needs help and no one is getting open for him". We wouldn't be bringing in everyone from Brandin Cooks to Gabe Davis to Mecole Hardman to help out. Again, that has a lot to do with the fact that teams know he's the guy to watch out for and key in on him more than our other options. And as good of a Slot as he is, he's not a #1 that's going to overcome heavy coverage. Too many fans want to just say "it's all Brady's fault". But that's not the truth. It's a combination of a poor WR core that can't get separation and a poor Offensive Coordinator. Putting it all on one or the other is not being honest about the situation. Brady is not so dumb or lazy as to call up that low percentage play as often as he does and watch it fail as often as it does and keep doing it for no reason. The reason is Shakir can't get open consistently but he's dangerous with the ball in his hands. And that play is the only way to consistently get the ball in his hands with the little to no help he's getting to take attention away from him downfield.

Gabe Davis signed to the 53, Curtis Samuel placed on IR

I’m not trying to start yet another “are our WRs trash or not” discussion, but with this week’s transactions the thought did occur to me that given the situation the Bills are in, a corps of Shakir/Palmer/Coleman/Cooks/Davis/Shavers is likely the best we’ve rolled out there this season. Gotta look to the bright side, right? -
He has never won a national championship as a HC and seems to move teams every 3 years or so.

7th SOS gets us in. I dont care what ESPN says, the Committee has us 8th, so win and in.

Yep

This is a classic “backs against the wall” game for Buffalo. Love having Josh on our side.
-
I haven’t studied it but even if they win out they need help, right?
-
Lol... they can keep it all for themselves, the Bills need to get rid of it and go back to Sweet Caroline.

Kill Everybody --- Illegal Order?
sherpa replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
For purposes of accuracy and simple good manners, I have never stated anything regarding this allegation, so any implication is baseless. I am unaware of any such "order," and I sure as hell wouldn't believe anything said on this site. I do know, that in my days of carrying weapons of incredible power, I would never deploy them against defenseless, non threatening people. Clear enough? -

Why get twisted about a song the players like?

It’s their thing. And we should’ve never used it.

Its looking more and more likely.

Yes regarding the bubble/flare/laser/tunnel screen... it also often seems like the defense is moving towards the intended receiver while the ball is in the air and isn't it OPI if the bunch starts blocking too soon? Every once in awhile it breaks for a decent gain but I feel like the cost/benefit has been very poor... and it seems like the more you run it the less effective it becomes. Like most of us, I've really grown to despise that play. I'm gonna go with the majority of people who believe the over-reliance on that play is because the OC sucks. Maybe we're wrong but that's the way it seems to many.

A large part of the reason you're seeing that so often is Shakir's own fault. For as elusive as he is in space, he's not great at getting open (like most of our WR's). This is compounded by the fact that our core is trash - with teams identifying him as the top guy to roll coverage to. Because of his inability to separate from his man (or men) on routes and his playmaking ability - they run this play a lot just to get the ball in his hands often. Bc if they just relied on him getting open this season, he wouldn't get many touches.
