I get why. There’s some risk, especially for people who were totally clean for years and then decide to try green again. That can wake the compulsive stuff back up. But that group is very small. For everyone else-the people who’d never even try getting clean unless they had some kind of release valve, it can really help make transition easier. Same idea as a cheat meal keeping you from bailing on a diet fully and binging for a month lol I’m basically fall into 2nd group. Even before id ever tried quitting seriously I'd figured out if i needed a quiet night, or to not blow my paycheck, If i rolled one up when it started getting dark, it crushed any drive I had to start drinking… there'd even be nights where i tried to change my mind and try to binge drink, and couldn't even get the drinks flowing on purpose. drinking is what fired up my drive to end up in the powder too A comic kinda summed up my experience with drinking and cocaine perfectly with: “Drinking without smoking is like trying to poop without peeing.”
